1 Und der HERR sprach zu Mose und Eleasar, dem Sohn des Priesters Aaron:
It happened after the plague, that the LORD spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2 Nimm die Summa der ganzen Gemeine der Kinder Israel von zwanzig Jahren und drüber, nach ihrer Väter Häusern, alle, die ins Heer zu ziehen taugen in Israel.
"Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all who are able to go forth to war in Israel."
3 Und Mose redete mit ihnen samt Eleasar, dem Priester, in dem Gefilde der Moabiter, an dem Jordan gegen Jericho,
Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
4 die zwanzig Jahre alt waren und drüber, wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte und den Kindern Israel, die aus Ägpyten gezogen waren.
"Take a census, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel." These are those that came out of the land of Egypt.
5 Ruben, der Erstgeborne Israels. Die Kinder Rubens aber waren: Hanoch, von dem das Geschlecht der Hanochiter kommt; Pallu, von dem das Geschlecht der Palluiter kommt;
Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the descendants of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
6 Hezron, von dem das Geschlecht der Hezroniter kommt; Charmi, von dem das Geschlecht der Charmiter kommt.
of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7 Das sind die Geschlechter von Ruben, und ihre Zahl war dreiundvierzigtausend siebenhundertunddreißig.
These are the families of the Reubenites; and those who were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred thirty.
8 Aber die Kinder Pallus waren Eliab;
The sons of Pallu: Eliab.
9 Und die Kinder Eliabs waren Nemuel und Dathan und Abiram. Das ist der Dathan und Abiram, die Vornehmlichen in der Gemeine, die sich wider Mose und Aaron auflehneten in der Rotte Korahs, da sie sich wider den HERRN auflehneten,
The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD,
10 und die Erde ihren Mund auftat und sie verschlang mit Korah, da die Rotte starb; da das Feuer zweihundertundfünfzig Männer fraß, und wurden ein Zeichen.
and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.
11 Aber die Kinder Korahs starben nicht.
Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah did not die.
12 Die Kinder Simeons in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Nemuel, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Nemueliter; Jamin, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Jaminiter; Jachin, daher das Geschlecht der Jachiniter kommt;
The descendants of Simeon after their families: of Jemuel, the family of the Jemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jakin, the family of the Jakinites;
13 Serah, daher das Geschlecht der Serahiter kommt; Saul, daher das Geschlecht der Sauliter kommt.

14 Das sind die Geschlechter von Simeon: zweiundzwanzigtausend und zweihundert.

These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19 Die Kinder Judas: Ger und Onan, welche beide starben im Lande Kanaan.
The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20 Es waren aber die Kinder Judas in ihren Geschlechtern: Sela, daher das Geschlecht der Selaniter kommt; Perez, daher das Geschlecht der Pereziter kommt; Serah, daher das Geschlecht der Serahiter kommt.
The descendants of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.
21 Aber die Kinder Perez waren: Hezron, daher das Geschlecht der Hezroniter kommt; Hamul, daher das Geschlecht der Hamuliter kommt.
The sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamuel, the family of the Hamuelites.
22 Das sind die Geschlechter Judas, an ihrer Zahl sechsundsiebenzigtausend und fünfhundert.
These are the families of Judah according to those who were numbered of them, seventy-six thousand five hundred.
23 Die Kinder Isaschars in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Thola, daher das Geschlecht der Tholaiter kommt; Phuva, daher das Geschlecht der Phuvaniter kommt;
The descendants of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puah, the family of the Puites;

27 Das sind die Geschlechter Sebulons, an ihrer Zahl sechzigtausend und fünfhundert.
These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those who were numbered of them, sixty thousand five hundred.
28 Die Kinder Josephs in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Manasse und Ephraim.
The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.
29 Die Kinder aber Manasses waren: Machir, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Machiriter; Machir zeugete Gilead, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Gileaditer.
The descendants of Manasseh: of Makir, the family of the Makirites; and Makir became the father of Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.
30 Dies sind aber die Kinder Gileads: Hieser, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Hieseriter; Helek, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Helekiter;
These are the descendants of Gilead: of Abiezer, the family of the Abiezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;
31 Asriel, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Asrieliter; Sichem, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Sichemiter;
and Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
32 Smida, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Smidaiter; Hepher, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Hepheriter.
and Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33 Zelaphehad aber war Hephers Sohn und hatte keine Söhne, sondern Töchter; die hießen Mahela, Noa, Hagla, Milka und Thirza.
Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters; and these are the names of the daughters of Zelophehad: Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34 Das sind die Geschlechter Manasses, an ihrer Zahl zweiundfünfzigtausend und siebenhundert.

These are the descendants of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Beker, the family of the Bekerites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36 Die Kinder aber Suthelahs waren: Eran, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Eraniter.
These are the descendants of Shuthelah: of Eden, the family of the Edenites.
37 Das sind die Geschlechter der Kinder Ephraims, an ihrer Zahl zweiunddreißigtausend und fünfhundert. Das sind die Kinder Josephs in ihren Geschlechtern.
These are the families of the descendants of Ephraim according to those who were numbered of them, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the descendants of Joseph after their families.
38 Die Kinder Benjamins in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Bela, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Belaiter; Asbel, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Asbeliter; Ahiram, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Ahiramiter;

42 Die Kinder Dans in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Suham, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Suhamiter.

43 Das sind die Geschlechter Dans in ihren Geschlechtern, und waren allesamt an der Zahl vierundsechzigtausend und vierhundert.

44 Die Kinder Assers in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Jemna, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Jemniter; Jeswi, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Jeswiter; Bria, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Briiter.
The descendants of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Jimnaites; of Jishvi, the family of the Jishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.
45 Aber die Kinder Brias waren: Heber, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Hebriter; Melchiel, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Melchieliter.
Of the descendants of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malkiel, the family of the Malkielites.
46 Und die Tochter Assers hieß Sara.
The name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
47 Das sind die Geschlechter der Kinder Assers, an ihrer Zahl dreiundfünfzigtausend und vierhundert.
These are the families of the descendants of Asher according to those who were numbered of them, fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
48 Die Kinder Naphthalis in ihren Geschlechtern waren: Jaheziel, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Jahezieliter; Guni, daher kommt das Geschlecht der Guniter;
The descendants of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;

These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred one thousand seven hundred thirty.
52 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
53 Diesen sollst du das Land austeilen zum Erbe nach der Zahl der Namen.
"To these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54 Vielen sollst du viel zum Erbe geben und wenigen wenig; jeglichen soll man geben nach ihrer Zahl.
To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: to everyone according to those who were numbered of him shall his inheritance be given.
55 Doch soll man das Land durchs Los teilen; nach den Namen der Stämme ihrer Väter sollen sie Erbe nehmen.
Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56 Denn nach dem Los sollst du ihr Erbe austeilen zwischen den vielen und wenigen.
According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer."
57 Und das ist die Summa der Leviten in ihren Geschlechtern: Gerson, daher das Geschlecht der Gersoniter; Kahath, daher das Geschlecht der Kahathiter; Merari, daher das Geschlecht der Merariter.
These are those who were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58 Dies sind die Geschlechter Levis: Das Geschlecht der Libniter, das Geschlecht der Hebroniter, das Geschlecht der Maheliter, das Geschlecht der Musiter, das Geschlecht der Korahiter. Kahath zeugete Amram.
These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites. Kohath became the father of Amram.
59 Und Amrams Weib hieß Jochebed, eine Tochter Levis, die ihm geboren ward in Ägypten; und sie gebar dem Amram Aaron und Mose und ihre Schwester Mirjam.
The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt: and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60 Dem Aaron aber ward geboren Nadab, Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.
To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
61 Nadab aber und Abihu starben, da sie fremd Feuer opferten vor dem HERRN.
Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD.
62 Und ihre Summa war dreiundzwanzigtausend, alle Männlein, von einem Monden an und drüber. Denn sie wurden nicht gezählet unter die Kinder Israel; denn man gab ihnen kein Erbe unter den Kindern Israel.
Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63 Das ist die Summa der Kinder Israel, die Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, zähleten im Gefilde der Moabiter, an dem Jordan gegen Jericho;
These are those who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
64 unter welchen war keiner aus der Summa, da Mose und Aaron, der Priester, die Kinder Israel zähleten in der Wüste Sinai.
But among these there was not a man of them who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65 Denn der HERR hatte ihnen gesagt, sie sollten des Todes sterben in der Wüste. Und blieb keiner übrig, ohne Kaleb, der Sohn Jephunnes, und Josua, der Sohn Nuns,
For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. There was not left a man of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
