Matthaeus 25
1 Dann wird das Himmelreich gleich sein zehn Jungfrauen, die ihre Lampen nahmen und gingen aus dem Bräutigam entgegen.
THEN shall be likened the kingdom of heaven unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom and the bride.
2 Aber fünf unter ihnen waren töricht, und fünf waren klug.
But five of them were wise, and five foolish.
3 Die törichten nahmen ihre Lampen, aber sie nahmen nicht Öl mit sich.
And those foolish (ones) took their lamps, but did not take with them the oil:
4 Die klugen aber nahmen Öl in ihren Gefäßen samt ihren Lampen.
but those were wise who took oil in vessels with their lamps.
5 Da nun der Bräutigam verzog, wurden sie alle schläfrig und entschliefen.
But while the bridegroom withheld, they all dozed and slept.
6 Zur Mitternacht aber ward ein Geschrei: Siehe, der Bräutigam kommt; gehet aus ihm entgegen!
And in the dividing of the night there was the cry, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go forth to his meeting.
7 Da stunden diese Jungfrauen alle auf und schmückten ihre Lampen.
Then all the virgins arose, and prepared their lamps.
8 Die törichten aber sprachen zu den klugen: Gebt uns von eurem Öle; denn unsere Lampen verlöschen!
But those foolish ones said to the wise, Give to us from your oil; for, behold, our lamps are gone out.
9 Da antworteten die klugen und sprachen: Nicht also, auf daß nicht uns und euch gebreche. Gehet aber hin zu den Krämern und kaufet für euch selbst!
But the wise ones answered them, saying, Lest it should not suffice for us and for you; but go to those who sell, and buy for you.
10 Und da sie hingingen zu kaufen, kam der Bräutigam; und welche bereit waren, gingen mit ihm hinein zur Hochzeit. Und die Tür ward verschlossen.
And while they were gone to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared entered with him into the house of festivity, and the gate was shut.
11 Zuletzt kamen auch die andern Jungfrauen und sprachen: HERR, HERR, tu uns auf!
At last came also those other virgins, saying, Our Lord, our Lord, open to us!
12 Er antwortete aber und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, ich kenne euer nicht.
But he answered and said to them, Assuredly I tell you, I know you not.
13 Darum wachet! Denn ihr wisset weder Tag noch Stunde, in welcher des Menschen Sohn kommen wird.
Be wakeful therefore, for you know not that day nor the hour.
14 Gleichwie ein Mensch, der über Land zog, rief seinen Knechten und tat ihnen seine Güter ein.
FOR as a man who journeyed called his servants, and delivered to them his property:
15 Und einem gab er fünf Zentner, dem andern zwei, dem dritten einen, einem jeden nach seinem Vermögen, und zog bald hinweg.
To one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, each man according to his faculty; and forthwith went away.
16 Da ging der hin, der fünf Zentner empfangen hatte, und handelte mit denselbigen und gewann andere fünf Zentner.
But he who had received five talents went and traded with them, and gained five others.
17 Desgleichen auch, der zwei Zentner empfangen hatte, gewann auch zwei andere.
Likewise he who (had received) two by trading gained two others.
18 Der aber einen empfangen hatte, ging hin und machte eine Grube in die Erde und verbarg seines HERRN Geld.
But he who had received one went, dug in the earth, and hid the money of his lord.
19 Über eine lange Zeit kam der HERR dieser Knechte und hielt Rechenschaft mit ihnen.
After a long time the lord of those servants came, and received from them the account.
20 Da trat herzu, der fünf Zentner empfangen hatte, und legte andere fünf Zentner dar und sprach: HERR, du hast mir fünf Zentner getan; siehe da, ich habe damit andere fünf Zentner gewonnen.
Then he drew near who had received the five talents, and brought five others, and said, My lord, five talents thou gavest me: behold, five others I have gained by them.
21 Da sprach sein HERR zu ihm: Ei, du frommer und getreuer Knecht, du bist über wenigem getreu gewesen; ich will dich über viel setzen. Gehe ein zu deines HERRN Freude!
His lord said to him, It is well, good and faithful servant; over a little thou hast been faithful, over much I will establish thee: enter into the joy of thy lord.
22 Da trat auch herzu, der zwei Zentner empfangen hatte, und sprach: HERR, du hast mir zwei Zentner getan; siehe da, ich habe mit denselben zwei andere gewonnen.
And he of the two talents approached, and said, My lord, two talents thou gavest me: behold, two others I have gained by them.
23 Sein HERR sprach zu ihm: Ei, du frommer und getreuer Knecht, du bist über wenigem getreu gewesen; ich will dich über viel setzen. Gehe ein zu deines HERRN Freude!
His lord saith to him, It is well, servant good and faithful; over a little thou hast been faithful, over much will I establish thee: enter into the joy of thy lord.
24 Da trat auch herzu, der einen Zentner empfangen hatte, und sprach: HERR, ich wußte, daß du ein harter Mann bist: du schneidest, wo du nicht gesäet hast, und sammelst, da du nicht gestreuet hast.
But he also drew near who had received the one talent, and said, My lord, I knew thee, that thou wast a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering together from whence thou hadst not dispersed.
25 Und fürchtete mich, ging hin und verbarg deinen Zentner in die Erde. Siehe, da hast du das Deine.
And I feared, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold, thou hast thine own.
26 Sein HERR aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Du Schalk und fauler Knecht! Wußtest du, daß ich schneide, da ich nicht gesäet habe, und sammle, da ich nicht gestreuet habe,
His lord answered, Thou evil and slothful servant, thou didst know me that I reap where I have not sowed, and collect from whence I have not dispersed.
27 so solltest du mein Geld zu den Wechslern getan haben, und wenn ich kommen wäre, hätte ich das Meine zu mir genommen mit Wucher.
Did it not behove thee to cast my money upon the table, that when I came I might require mine own with its increase?
28 Darum nehmet von ihm den Zentner und gebet's dem, der zehn Zentner hat!
Take therefore from him the talent, and give it unto him who hath ten talents.
29 Denn wer da hat, dem wird gegeben werden, und wird die Fülle haben; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch, was er hat, genommen werden.
For unto him who hath shall be given, and it shall be added to him; but he who hath not, that also which he hath shall be taken from him.
30 Und den unnützen Knecht werft in die äußerste Finsternis hinaus; da wird sein Heulen und Zähneklappen.
And the indolent servant cast forth into the darknesses without; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 Wenn aber des Menschen Sohn kommen wird in seiner HERRLIchkeit und alle heiligen Engel mit ihm, dann wird er sitzen auf dem Stuhl seiner HERRLIchkeit.
WHEN the Son of man cometh in his glory, and all his holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.
32 Und werden vor ihm alle Völker versammelt werden. Und er wird sie voneinander scheiden, gleich als ein Hirte die Schafe von den Böcken scheidet.
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats.
33 Und wird die Schafe zu seiner Rechten stellen und die Böcke zur Linken.
And he shall cause the sheep to stand upon his right hand, and the goats on his left.
34 Da wird denn der König sagen zu denen zu seiner Rechten: Kommt her, ihr Gesegneten meines Vaters, ererbet das Reich, das euch bereitet ist von Anbeginn der Welt!
Then shall the King say to them on his right hand, Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom which was to be for you from the foundation of the world.
35 Denn ich bin hungrig gewesen, und ihr habt mich gespeiset. Ich bin durstig gewesen, und ihr habt mich getränket. Ich bin ein Gast gewesen, und ihr habt mich beherberget.
For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I thirsted, and you made me to drink; I was a stranger, and you received me;
36 Ich bin nackend gewesen, und ihr habt mich bekleidet. Ich bin krank gewesen, und ihr habt mich besuchet. Ich bin gefangen gewesen, und ihr seid zu mir kommen.
I was naked, and you covered me; I was sick, and you cared for me; and I was in prison, and you came to me.
37 Dann werden ihm die Gerechten antworten und sagen: HERR, wann haben wir dich hungrig gesehen und haben dich gespeiset, oder durstig und haben dich getränket?
Then shall say unto him those righteous, Our Lord! when did we see that thou wast hungry, and fed thee, or that thou didst thirst, and we gave thee drink?
38 Wann haben wir dich einen Gast gesehen und beherberget, oder nackend und haben dich bekleidet?
and when did we see thee a stranger, and received thee, or naked, and covered thee?
39 Wann haben wir dich krank oder gefangen gesehen und sind zu dir kommen?
and when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and came to thee?
40 Und der König wird antworten und sagen zu ihnen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Was ihr getan habt einem unter diesen meinen geringsten Brüdern, das habt ihr mir getan.
And the King shall answer and say to them, Amen I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it unto one of these my least brethren, unto me you did it.
41 Dann wird er auch sagen zu denen zur Linken: Gehet hin von mir, ihr Verfluchten, in das ewige Feuer, das bereitet ist dem Teufel und seinen Engeln! (aiōnios g166)
Then shall he say also unto them on his left hand, Go from me, accursed, into the fire of eternity, which was prepared for the accuser and for his angels. (aiōnios g166)
42 Ich bin hungrig gewesen, und ihr habt mich nicht gespeiset. Ich bin durstig gewesen, und ihr habt mich nicht getränket.
For I was hungry and you gave me not to eat; and I thirsted, but you made me not to drink;
43 Ich bin ein Gast gewesen, und ihr habt mich nicht beherberget. Ich bin nackend gewesen, und ihr habt mich nicht bekleidet. Ich bin krank und gefangen gewesen, und ihr habt mich nicht besuchet.
and I was a stranger, and you received me not; and naked, and you clothed me not; and I was sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.
44 Da werden sie ihm auch antworten und sagen: HERR, wann haben wir dich gesehen hungrig oder durstig oder einen Gast oder nackend oder krank oder gefangen und haben dir nicht gedienet?
Then shall they also answer and say, Our Lord! when saw we thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Dann wird er ihnen antworten und sagen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Was ihr nicht getan habt einem unter diesen Geringsten, das habt ihr mir auch nicht getan.
Then shall he answer and say to them, Amen I say unto you, that inasmuch as you did it not unto one of these little ones, you did it not to me.
