Joel 3

1 Denn siehe, in den Tagen und zur selbigen Zeit, wenn ich das Gefängnis Judas und Jerusalems wenden werde,

Behold, in those days and at that time, when I return the exiles of Judah and Jerusalem,

2 will ich alle Heiden zusammenbringen und will sie ins Tal Josaphat hinabführen und will mit ihnen daselbst rechten von wegen meines Volks und meines Erbteils Israel, das sie unter die Heiden zerstreuet und sich in mein Land geteilet

I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will judge them there, because of my people and my inheritance Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, and because they divided up my land.

3 und das Los um mein Volk geworfen haben und haben die Knaben um Speise gegeben und die Mägdlein um Wein verkauft und vertrunken.

They cast lots for my people, traded a boy for a prostitute, and sold a girl for wine so they could drink.

4 Und ihr von Zor und Zidon und alle Grenze der Philister, was habt ihr mit mir zu tun? Wollt ihr mir trotzen? Wohlan, trotzet ihr mir, so will ich's euch eilend und bald wieder vergelten auf euren Kopf,

Now, why are you angry at me, Tyre, Sidon and all the regions of Philistia? Will you repay me? Even if you do repay me, I will immediately return your retribution on your own head.

5 die ihr mein Silber und Gold und meine schönen Kleinode genommen und in eure Kirchen gebracht habt,

For you took my silver and my gold, and you brought my precious treasures into your temples.

6 dazu auch die Kinder Judas und die Kinder Jerusalems verkauft habt den Griechen, auf daß ihr sie gar ferne von ihren Grenzen brächtet.

You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, in order to remove them far from their territory.

7 Siehe, ich will sie erwecken aus dem Ort, dahin ihr sie verkauft habt, und will's euch vergelten auf euren Kopf.

Look, I am about to stir them up, out of the place where you sold them, and will return payment on your own head.

8 Und will eure Söhne und eure Töchter wiederum verkaufen, durch die Kinder Judas; die sollen sie denen in Reicharabien, einem Volk in fernen Landen, verkaufen; denn der HERR hat es geredet.

I will sell your sons and your daughters, by the hand of the people of Judah. They will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far off, for Yahweh has spoken.”

9 Rufet dies aus unter den Heiden; heiliget einen Streit, erwecket die Starken, laßt herzukommen und hinaufziehen alle Kriegsleute!

Proclaim this among the nations, “Prepare yourselves for war, rouse the mighty men, let them come near, let all the men of battle come up.

10 Machet aus euren Pflugscharen Schwerter und aus euren Sicheln Spieße! Der Schwache spreche: Ich bin stark.

Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning knives into spears. Let the weak say, 'I am strong.'

11 Rottet euch und kommt her, alle Heiden um und um, und versammelt euch! Daselbst wird der HERR deine Starken daniederlegen.

Hurry and come, all you nearby nations, gather yourselves together there. Yahweh, bring down your mighty warriors.

12 Die Heiden werden sich aufmachen und heraufkommen zum Tal Josaphat; denn daselbst will ich sitzen, zu richten alle Heiden um und um.

Let the nations wake themselves up and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. For there will I sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

13 Schlaget die Sichel an, denn die Ernte ist reif; kommt herab, denn die Kelter ist voll und die Kelter läuft über; denn ihre Bosheit ist groß.

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, crush the grapes, for the winepress is full. The vats overflow, for their wickedness is enormous.”

14 Es werden hie und da Haufen Volks sein im Tal des Urteils; denn des HERRN Tag ist nahe im Tal des Urteils.

There is a tumult, a tumult in the Valley of Judgment. For the day of Yahweh is near in the Valley of Judgment.

15 Sonne und Mond werden verfinstert und die Sterne werden ihren Schein verhalten.

The sun and the moon become dark, the stars keep back their brightness.

16 Und der HERR wird aus Zion brüllen und aus Jerusalem seine Stimme lassen hören, daß Himmel und Erde beben wird. Aber der HERR wird seinem Volk eine Zuflucht sein und eine Feste den Kindern Israel.

Yahweh will roar from Zion, and raise his voice from Jerusalem. The heavens and earth will shake, but Yahweh will be a shelter for his people, and a fortress for the people of Israel.

17 Und ihr sollt es erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, euer Gott, zu Zion auf meinem heiligen Berge wohne. Alsdann wird Jerusalem heilig sein und kein Fremder mehr durch sie wandeln.

“So you will know that I am Yahweh your God who lives in Zion, my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will be holy, and no army will march through her again.

18 Zur selbigen Zeit werden die Berge mit süßem Wein triefen und die Hügel mit Milch fließen, und alle Bäche in Juda werden voll Wassers gehen; und wird eine Quelle vom Hause des HERRN herausgehen, die wird den Strom Sittim wässern.

It will come about on that day that the mountains will drip with sweet wine, the hills will flow with milk, all the brooks of Judah will flow with water, and a fountain will come from the house of Yahweh and water the Valley of Shittim.

19 Aber Ägypten soll wüst werden und Edom eine wüste Einöde um den Frevel, an den Kindern Judas begangen, daß sie unschuldig Blut in ihrem Lande vergossen haben.

Egypt will become an abandoned devastation, and Edom will become an abandoned wilderness, because of the violence done to the people of Judah, because they shed innocent blood in their land.

20 Aber Juda soll ewiglich bewohnet werden und Jerusalem für und für.

But Judah will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem will be inhabited from generation to generation.

21 Und ich will ihr Blut nicht ungerächt lassen. Und der HERR wird wohnen zu Zion.

I will avenge their blood that I have not yet avenged, for Yahweh lives in Zion.”
