Job 37
1 Des entsetzt sich mein Herz und bebet.
“Also, my heart trembles at this, And it moves from its place.
2 Lieber, höret doch, wie sein Donner zürnet, und was für Gespräch von seinem Munde ausgehet!
Listen diligently to the trembling of His voice, Indeed, the sound goes forth from His mouth.
3 Er siehet unter allen Himmeln, und sein Blitz scheinet auf die Enden der Erde.
He directs it under the whole heavens, And its light [is] over the skirts of the earth.
4 Dem nach brüllet der Donner, und er donnert mit seinem großen Schall, und wenn sein Donner gehöret wird, kann man's nicht aufhalten.
A voice roars after it—He thunders with the voice of His excellence, And He does not hold them back, When His voice is heard.
5 Gott donnert mit seinem Donner greulich und tut große Dinge, und wird doch nicht erkannt.
God thunders with His voice wonderfully, Doing great things and we do not know.
6 Er spricht zum Schnee, so ist er bald auf Erden, und zum Platzregen, so ist der Platzregen da mit Macht.
For He says to snow: Be [on] the earth. And the small rain and great rain of His power.
7 Alle Menschen hat er in der Hand als verschlossen, daß die Leute lernen, was er tun kann.
Into the hand of every man he seals, For the knowledge by all men of His work.
8 Das wilde Tier gehet in die Höhle und bleibt an seinem Ort.
And the beast enters into [its] lair, And it continues in its habitations.
9 Von Mittag her kommt Wetter und von Mitternacht Kälte.
From the inner chamber comes a windstorm, And from scatterings winds—cold,
10 Vom Odem Gottes kommt Frost, und große Wasser, wenn er auftauen läßt.
From the breath of God is frost given, And the breadth of waters is constricted,
11 Die dicken Wolken scheiden sich, daß es helle werde, und durch den Nebel bricht sein Licht.
Indeed, by filling He presses out a cloud, [and] His light scatters a cloud.
12 Er kehret die Wolken, wo er hin will, daß sie schaffen alles, was er ihnen gebeut, auf dem Erdboden,
And it is turning itself around by His counsels, For their doing all He commands them, On the face of the habitable earth.
13 es sei über ein Geschlecht oder über ein Land, so man ihn barmherzig findet.
Whether for a rod, or for His land, Or for kindness—He causes it to come.
14 Da merke auf, Hiob; stehe, und vernimm die Wunder Gottes!
Hear this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.
15 Weißt du, wenn Gott solches über sie bringt und wenn er das Licht seiner Wolken läßt hervorbrechen?
Do you know when God places them, And caused the light of His cloud to shine?
16 Weißt du, wie sich die Wolken ausstreuen? Welche Wunder die Vollkommenen wissen.
Do you know the balancings of a cloud? The wonders of the Perfect in knowledge?
17 Daß deine Kleider warm sind, wenn das Land stille ist vom Mittagswind?
How your garments [are] warm, In the quieting of the earth from the south?
18 Ja, du wirst mit ihm die Wolken ausbreiten, die fest stehen wie ein gegossener Spiegel.
You have made an expanse with Him For the clouds—strong as a hard mirror!
19 Zeige uns, was wir ihm sagen sollen; denn wir werden nicht dahin reichen vor Finsternis.
Let us know what we say to Him, We do not set in array because of darkness.
20 Wer wird ihm erzählen, daß ich rede? So jemand redet, der wird verschlungen.
Is it declared to Him that I speak? If a man has spoken, surely he is swallowed up.
21 Jetzt siehet man das Licht nicht, das in den Wolken helle leuchtet; wenn aber der Wind wehet, so wird's klar.
And now, they have not seen the light, It [is] bright in the clouds, And the wind has passed by and cleanses them.
22 Von Mitternacht kommt Gold zu Lob vor dem schrecklichen Gott.
It comes from the golden north, Fearful splendor [is] beside God.
23 Den Allmächtigen aber mögen sie nicht begreifen, der so groß ist von Kraft; denn er wird von seinem Recht und guter Sache nicht Rechenschaft geben.
The Mighty! We have not found Him out, High in power and judgment, He does not answer! And abundant in righteousness,
24 Darum müssen ihn fürchten die Leute; und er fürchtet sich vor keinem, wie weise sie sind.
Therefore men fear Him, He does not see any of the wise of heart.”
