Job 25

1 Da antwortete Bildad von Suah und sprach:

Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said: —

2 Ist nicht die HERRSChaft und Furcht bei ihm, der den Frieden macht unter seinen Höchsten?

Dominion and dread, are with him, who causeth prosperity among his lofty ones;

3 Wer will seine Kriegsleute zählen? Und über welchen gehet nicht auf sein Licht?

Is there any number to his troops? And upon whom ariseth not his light?

4 Und wie mag ein Mensch gerecht vor Gott sein? Und wie mag rein sein eines Weibes Kind?

How then shall, a mortal, be just with GOD? Or how shall he be pure who is born of a woman?

5 Siehe, der Mond scheinet noch nicht, und die Sterne sind noch nicht rein vor seinen Augen;

Look as far as the moon, and it is not clear, and, the stars, are not bright in his eyes!

6 wieviel weniger ein Mensch, die Made, und ein Menschenkind, der Wurm?

How much less a mortal who is a creeping thing? Or a son of the earth-born who is a worm?
