Jeremia 1
1 Dies sind die Geschichten Jeremias, des Sohns Hilkias, aus den Priestern zu Anathoth, im Lande Benjamin,
The words of Jeremias the son of Helcias, of the priests that were in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin.
2 zu welchem geschah das Wort des HERRN zur Zeit Josias, des Sohns Amons, des Königs Judas, im dreizehnten Jahr seines Königreichs,
The word of the Lord which came to him in the days of Josias the son of Amon king of Juda, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3 und hernach zur Zeit des Königs Judas Jojakim, des Sohns Josias, bis ans Ende des elften Jahrs Zedekias, des Sohns Josias, des Königs Judas, bis aufs Gefängnis Jerusalems im fünften Monden.
And which came to him in the days of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, unto the end of the eleventh year of Sedecias the son of Josias king of Juda, even unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive, in the fifth month.
4 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
5 Ich kannte dich, ehe denn ich dich in Mutterleibe bereitete, und sonderte dich aus, ehe denn du von der Mutter geboren wurdest, und stellete dich zum Propheten unter die Völker.
Before I formed thee in the bowels of thy mother, I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and made thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Ich aber sprach: Ach, HERR HERR, ich tauge nicht zu predigen, denn ich bin zu jung!
And I said: Ah, ah, ah, Lord God: behold, I cannot speak, for I am a child.
7 Der HERR sprach aber zu mir: Sage nicht: Ich bin zu jung; sondern du sollst gehen, wohin ich dich sende, und predigen, was ich dich heiße.
And the Lord said to me: Say not: I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee: and whatsoever I shall command thee, thou shalt speak.
8 Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich bin bei dir und will dich erretten, spricht der HERR.
Be not afraid at their presence: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Und der HERR reckte seine Hand aus und rührete meinen Mund und sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich lege meine Worte in deinen Mund.
And the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth: and the Lord said to me: Behold I have given my words in thy mouth:
10 Siehe, ich setze dich heute dieses Tages über Völker und Königreiche, daß du ausreißen, zerbrechen, verstören und verderben sollst und bauen und pflanzen.
Lo, I have set thee this day over the nations, and over the kingdoms, to root up, and pull down, and to waste, and to destroy, and to build, and to plant.
11 Und es geschah des HERRN Wort zu mir und sprach: Jeremia, was siehest du? Ich sprach: Ich sehe einen wackern Stab.
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: What seest thou, Jeremias? And I said: I see a rod watching.
12 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Du hast recht gesehen; denn ich will wacker sein über mein Wort, daß ich's tue.
And the Lord said to me: Thou hast seen well: for I will watch over my word to perform it.
13 Und es geschah des HERRN Wort zum andernmal zu mir und sprach: Was siehest du? Ich sprach: Ich sehe einen heißen siedenden Topf von Mitternacht her.
And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying: What seest thou? I see a boiling caldron, and the face thereof from the face of the north.
14 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Von Mitternacht wird das Unglück ausbrechen über alle, die im Lande wohnen.
And the Lord said to me: from the north shall an evil break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 Denn siehe, ich will rufen alle Fürsten in den Königreichen gegen Mitternacht, spricht der HERR, daß sie kommen sollen und ihre Stühle setzen vor die Tore zu Jerusalem und rings um die Mauern her und vor alle Städte Judas.
For behold I will call together all the families of the kingdoms of the north: saith the Lord: and they shall come, and shall set every one his throne in the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and upon all the walls thereof round about, and upon all the cities of Juda,
16 Und ich will das Recht lassen über sie gehen um aller ihrer Bosheit willen, daß sie mich verlassen und räuchern andern Göttern und beten an ihrer Hände Werk.
And I will pronounce my judgements against them, touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have sacrificed to strange gods, and have adored the work of their own hands.
17 So begürte nun deine Lenden und mache dich auf und predige ihnen alles, was ich dich heiße! Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen, als sollte ich dich abschrecken!
Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee. Be not afraid at their presence: for I will make thee not to fear their countenance.
18 Denn ich will dich heute zur festen Stadt, zur eisernen Säule, zur ehernen Mauer machen im ganzen Lande wider die Könige Judas, wider ihre Fürsten, wider ihre Priester, wider das Volk im Lande,
For behold I have made thee this day a fortified city, and a pillar of iron, and a wall of brass, over all the land, to the kings of Juda, to the princes thereof, and to the priests, and to the people of the land.
19 daß, wenn sie gleich wider dich streiten, dennoch nicht sollen wider dich siegen; denn ich bin bei dir, spricht der HERR, daß ich dich errette.
And they shall fight against thee, and shall not prevail: for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
