Jeremia 26

1 Im Anfang des Königreiches Jojakims, des Sohns Josias, des Königs Judas, geschah dies Wort vom HERRN und sprach:

In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from YHWH, saying,

2 So spricht der HERR: Tritt in den Vorhof am Hause des HERRN und predige allen Städten Judas, die da hereingehen anzubeten im Hause des HERRN, alle Worte, die ich dir befohlen habe, ihnen zu sagen, und tue nichts davon,

"Thus says YHWH: Stand in the court of YHWH's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in YHWH's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; do not diminish a word.

3 ob sie vielleicht hören wollen und sich bekehren, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, damit mich auch reuen möchte das Übel, das ich gedenke, ihnen zu tun, um ihres bösen Wandels willen.

It may be they will listen, and turn every man from his evil way; that I may relent of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.

4 Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Werdet ihr mir nicht gehorchen, daß ihr in meinem Gesetz wandelt, das ich euch vorgelegt habe,

You shall tell them, 'Thus says YHWH: If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

5 daß ihr höret die Worte meiner Knechte, der Propheten, welche ich stets zu euch gesandt habe, und ihr doch nicht hören wolltet,

to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them, but you have not listened;

6 so will ich's mit diesem Hause machen wie mit Silo und diese Stadt zum Fluch allen Heiden auf Erden machen.

then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.'"

7 Da nun die Priester, Propheten und alles Volk höreten Jeremia, daß er solche Worte redete im Hause des HERRN,

The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of YHWH.

8 und Jeremia nun ausgeredet hatte alles, was ihm der HERR befohlen hatte, allem Volk zu sagen, griffen ihn die Priester, Propheten und das ganze Volk und sprachen: Du mußt sterben!

It happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that YHWH had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying, "You shall surely die.

9 Warum darfst du weissagen im Namen des HERRN und sagen: Es wird diesem Hause gehen wie Silo, und diese Stadt soll so wüste werden, daß niemand mehr drinnen wohne? Und das ganze Volk sammelte sich im Hause des HERRN wider Jeremia.

Why have you prophesied in the name of YHWH, saying, 'This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant?'" All the people were gathered to Jeremiah in the house of YHWH.

10 Da solches höreten die Fürsten Judas, gingen sie aus des Königs Hause hinauf ins Haus des HERRN und setzten sich vor das neue Tor des HERRN.

When the officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of YHWH; and they sat in the entry of the New Gate of YHWH's house.

11 Und die Priester und Propheten sprachen vor den Fürsten und allem Volk: Dieser ist des Todes schuldig; denn er hat geweissagt wider diese Stadt, wie ihr mit euren Ohren gehöret habt.

Then spoke the priests and the prophets to the officials and to all the people, saying, "This man is worthy of death; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears."

12 Aber Jeremia sprach zu allen Fürsten und zu allem Volk: Der HERR hat mich gesandt, daß ich solches alles, das ihr gehöret habt, sollte weissagen wider dies Haus und wider diese Stadt.

Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "YHWH sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.

13 So bessert nun euer Wesen und Wandel und gehorchet der Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes, so wird den HERRN auch gereuen das Übel, das er wider euch geredet hat.

Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of YHWH your God; and YHWH will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you.

14 Siehe, ich bin in euren Händen; ihr möget es machen mit mir, wie es euch recht und gut dünkt.

But as for me, look, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your eyes.

15 Doch sollt ihr wissen, wo ihr mich tötet, so werdet ihr unschuldig Blut laden auf euch selbst, auf diese Stadt und ihre Einwohner. Denn wahrlich, der HERR hat mich zu euch gesandt, daß ich solches alles vor euren Ohren reden sollte.

Only know for certain that, if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants; for of a truth YHWH has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears."

16 Da sprachen die Fürsten und das ganze Volk zu den Priestern und Propheten: Dieser ist des Todes nicht schuldig; denn er hat zu uns geredet im Namen des HERRN, unsers Gottes.

Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets: "This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of YHWH our God."

17 Und es stunden auf etliche der Ältesten im Lande und sprachen zum ganzen Haufen des Volks:

Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,

18 Zur Zeit Hiskias, des Königs Judas, war ein Prophet, Micha von Maresa, und sprach zum ganzen Volk Juda: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Zion soll wie ein Acker gepflüget werden, und Jerusalem ein Steinhaufen werden und der Berg des Hauses (des HERRN) zum wilden Walde.

"Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says YHWH of hosts: "Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest."'

19 Noch ließ ihn Hiskia, der König Judas, und das ganze Juda darum nicht töten; ja, sie fürchteten vielmehr den HERRN und beteten vor dem HERRN. Da reuete auch den HERRN das Übel, das er wider sie geredet hatte. Darum tun wir sehr übel wider unsere Seelen:

Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear YHWH, and seek the favor of YHWH, and YHWH relented of the disaster which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls.

20 So war auch einer, der im Namen des HERRN weissagte, Uria, der Sohn Semajas, von Kiriath-Jearim. Derselbe weissagte wider diese Stadt und wider dies Land gleichwie Jeremia.

"There was also a man who prophesied in the name of YHWH, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.

21 Da aber der König Jojakim und alle seine Gewaltigen und die Fürsten seine Worte höreten, wollte ihn der König töten lassen. Und Uria erfuhr das, fürchtete sich und floh und zog nach Ägypten.

And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the officials, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Uriah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.

22 Aber der König Jojakim schickte Leute nach Ägypten, Elnathan, den Sohn Achbors, und andere mit ihm.

And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him, into Egypt;

23 Die führeten ihn aus Ägypten und brachten ihn zum Könige Jojakim; der ließ ihn mit dem Schwert töten und ließ seinen Leichnam unter dem gemeinen Pöbel begraben.

and they fetched forth Uriah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people."

24 Also war die Hand Ahikams, des Sohns Saphans, mit Jeremia, daß er nicht dem Volk in die Hände kam, daß sie ihn töteten.

But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
