Jesaja 63

1 Wer ist der, so von Edom kommt, mit rötlichen Kleidern von Bazra, der so geschmückt ist in seinen Kleidern und einhertritt in seiner großen Kraft? Ich bin's, der Gerechtigkeit lehret und ein Meister bin zu helfen.

Who is this that cometh from Edom, with deep-red garments from Bozrah, this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? — I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

2 Warum ist denn dein Gewand so rotfarb und dein Kleid wie eines Keltertreters?

— Wherefore is redness in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat?

3 Ich trete die Kelter allein, und ist niemand unter den Völkern mit mir. Ich habe sie gekeltert in meinem Zorn und zertreten in meinem Grimm. Daher ist ihr Vermögen auf meine Kleider gespritzt, und ich habe all mein Gewand besudelt.

I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the peoples not a man was with me; and I have trodden them in mine anger, and trampled them in my fury; and their blood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all mine apparel.

4 Denn ich habe einen Tag der Rache mir vorgenommen; das Jahr, die Meinen zu erlösen, ist kommen.

For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed had come.

5 Denn ich sah mich um, und da war kein Helfer, und ich war im Schrecken, und niemand enthielt mich, sondern mein Arm mußte mir helfen, und mein Zorn enthielt mich.

And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: and mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

6 Darum habe ich die Völker zertreten in meinem Zorn und habe sie trunken gemacht in meinem Grimm und ihr Vermögen zu Boden gestoßen.

And I have trodden down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my fury; and their blood have I brought down to the earth.

7 Ich will der Güte des HERRN gedenken und des Lobes des HERRN in allem, das uns der HERR getan hat, und des großen Guts an dem Hause Israel, das er ihnen getan hat durch seine Barmherzigkeit und große Güte.

I will record the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah, the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed upon us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel which he hath bestowed upon them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses.

8 Denn er sprach: Sie sind ja mein Volk, Kinder, die nicht falsch sind. Darum war er ihr Heiland.

And he said, They are indeed my people, children that will not lie; and he became their Saviour.

9 Wer sie ängstete, der ängstete ihn auch; und der Engel, so vor ihm ist, half ihnen. Er erlösete sie, darum daß er sie liebete und ihrer schonete. Er nahm sie auf und trug sie allezeit von alters her.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them and carried them all the days of old.

10 Aber sie erbitterten und entrüsteten seinen Heiligen Geist; darum ward er ihr Feind und stritt wider sie.

But they rebelled and grieved his holy Spirit: and he turned to be their enemy; himself, he fought against them.

11 Und er gedachte wieder an die vorige Zeit, an den Mose, so unter seinem Volk war. Wo ist denn nun, der sie aus dem Meer führete, samt dem Hirten seiner Herde? Wo ist, der seinen Heiligen Geist unter sie gab,

But he remembered the days of old, Moses [and] his people: Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he that put his holy Spirit within him,

12 der Mose bei der rechten Hand führete durch seinen herrlichen Arm, der die Wasser trennete vor ihnen her, auf daß er ihm einen ewigen Namen machte,

his glorious arm leading them by the right hand of Moses, dividing the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name,

13 der sie führete durch die Tiefe, wie die Rosse in der Wüste, die nicht straucheln,

— who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, [and] they stumbled not?

14 wie das Vieh, so ins Feld hinabgehet, welches der Odem des HERRN treibet? Also hast du auch dein Volk geführet, auf daß du dir einen herrlichen Namen machtest.

As cattle go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah gave them rest; so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

15 So schaue nun vom Himmel und siehe herab von deiner heiligen herrlichen Wohnung. Wo ist nun dein Eifer, deine Macht? Deine große herzliche Barmherzigkeit hält sich hart gegen mich.

Look down from the heavens, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory! Where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy tender mercies? Are they restrained toward me?

16 Bist du doch unser Vater. Denn Abraham weiß von uns nicht, und Israel kennet uns nicht. Du aber, HERR, bist unser Vater und unser Erlöser; von alters her ist das dein Name.

For thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer, from everlasting, is thy name.

17 Warum lässest du uns, HERR, irren von deinen Wegen und unser Herz verstocken, daß wir dich nicht fürchten? Kehre wieder um deiner Knechte willen, um der Stämme willen deines Erbes!

Why, O Jehovah, hast thou made us to err from thy ways, hast hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

18 Sie besitzen dein heiliges Volk schier gar; deine Widersacher zertreten dein Heiligtum.

Thy holy people have possessed [it] but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.

19 Wir sind gleich wie vorhin, da du nicht über uns herrschetest, und wir nicht nach deinem Namen genannt waren.

We have become [like those] over whom thou never barest rule, those not called by thy name.
