Jesaja 58
1 Rufe getrost, schone nicht! Erhebe deine Stimme wie eine Posaune und verkündige meinem Volk ihr Übertreten und dem Hause Jakob ihre Sünde!
Cry aloud, spare not, Lift up thy voice like a trumpet, And show my people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins!
2 Sie suchen mich täglich und wollen meine Wege wissen, als ein Volk, das Gerechtigkeit schon getan und das Recht ihres Gottes nicht verlassen hätte. Sie fordern mich zu Recht und wollen mit ihrem Gott rechten.
Yet they seek me daily, And desire to know my ways, As a nation that hath done righteousness, And hath not forsaken the ordinances of their God; They inquire of me concerning the judgments which bring salvation; They long for the coming of God.
3 Warum fasten wir, und du siehest es nicht an? Warum tun wir unserm Leibe wehe, und du willst es nicht wissen? Siehe, wenn ihr fastet, so übet ihr euren Willen und treibet alle eure Schuldiger.
“Wherefore do we fast, and thou seest not? Wherefore do we afflict our souls, and thou dost not regard it?” Behold, in the day of your fasts ye pursue your pleasure, And exact all your labors.
4 Siehe, ihr fastet, daß ihr hadert, und zanket und schlaget mit der Faust ungöttlich. Fastet nicht also, wie ihr jetzt tut, daß ein Geschrei von euch in der Höhe gehöret wird.
Behold, ye fast in strife and contention, And smiting with the fist of wickedness. Ye do not fast now So that your voice shall be heard on high.
5 Sollte das ein Fasten sein, das ich erwählen soll, daß ein Mensch seinem Leibe des Tages übel tue, oder seinen Kopf hänge wie ein Schilf, oder auf einem Sack und in der Asche liege? Wollt ihr das ein Fasten nennen und einen Tag dem HERRN angenehm?
Is this the fast that I approve, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it that he should bow down his head like a bulrush, And lie down in sackcloth and ashes? Wilt thou call this a fast, And a day acceptable to Jehovah?
6 Das ist aber ein Fasten, das ich erwähle: Laß los, welche du mit Unrecht verbunden hast; laß ledig, welche du beschwerest; gib frei, welche du drängest; reiß weg allerlei Last;
Is not this the fast that I approve, —To loose the bands of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And to break in pieces every yoke?
7 brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot und die, so im Elend sind, führe ins Haus; so du einen nackend siehest, so kleide ihn und entzeuch dich nicht von deinem Fleisch.
Is it not to break thy bread to the hungry, And to bring the poor, that are cast out, to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou clothe him, And that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Alsdann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie die Morgenröte und deine Besserung wird schnell wachsen, und deine Gerechtigkeit wird vor dir her gehen, und die HERRLIchkeit des HERRN wird dich zu sich nehmen.
Then shall thy light break forth like the morning, And thy health shall spring forth speedily; Thy salvation shall go before thee, And the glory of Jehovah shall bring up thy rear.
9 Dann wirst du rufen, so wird dir der HERR antworten; wenn du wirst schreien, wird er sagen: Siehe, hie bin ich! So du niemand bei dir beschweren wirst, noch mit Fingern zeigen, noch übel reden,
Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; Thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Lo, here I am! If thou remove from the midst of thee the yoke, The pointing of the finger, and the injurious speech.
10 und wirst den Hungrigen lassen finden dein Herz und die elende Seele sättigen, so wird dein Licht in Finsternis aufgehen, und dein Dunkel wird sein wie der Mittag;
If thou bring forth thy bread to the hungry, And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then in obscurity shall light arise to thee; Yea, thy darkness shall become as noonday;
11 und der HERR wird dich immerdar führen und deine Seele sättigen in der Dürre und deine Gebeine stärken, und wirst sein wie ein gewässerter Garten und wie eine Wasserquelle, welcher es nimmer an Wasser fehlet.
Jehovah shall lead thee continually, And satisfy thee in the time of drought, And strengthen thy bones; Thou shalt be like a watered garden, and a spring of water, Whose waters never fail.
12 Und soll durch dich gebauet werden, was lange wüste gelegen ist, und wirst Grund legen, der für und für bleibe, und sollst heißen: Der die Lücken verzäunet und die Wege bessert, daß man da wohnen möge.
Thy people shall build the ancient desolations, The ruins of many generations shall they restore; Thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of ways for inhabitants.
13 So du deinen Fuß von dem Sabbat kehrest, daß du nicht tust, was dir gefällt an meinem heiligen Tage, so wird's ein lustiger Sabbat heißen, den HERRN zu heiligen und zu preisen. Denn so wirst du denselbigen preisen, wenn du nicht tust deine Wege, noch darin erfunden werde, was dir gefällt, oder was du redest.
If thou restrain thy foot from the sabbath, From doing thy pleasure on my holy day, If thou shalt call the sabbath a delight, The holy day of Jehovah honorable, And shalt honor it by refraining from thy work, From doing thy pleasure, and speaking vain words,
14 Alsdann wirst du Lust haben am HERRN, und ich will dich über die Höhen auf Erden schweben lassen und will dich speisen mit dem Erbe deines Vaters Jakob; denn des HERRN Mund sagt es.
Then shalt thou delight thyself in Jehovah. And I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, And cause thee to enjoy the inheritance of Jacob, thy father; For the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.
