Jesaja 37
1 Da aber der König Hiskia das hörete, zerriß er seine Kleider und hüllete einen Sack um sich und ging in das Haus des HERRN.
And when the King Hezekiah heard it, he rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth and came into the House of the Lord.
2 Und sandte Eliakim, den Hofmeister; und Sebena, den Kanzler, samt den ältesten Priestern, mit Säcken umhüllet, zu dem Propheten Jesaja, dem Sohn Amoz,
And he sent Eliakim the stewarde of the house, aud Shebna the chanceller, with the Elders of the Priestes, clothed in sackcloth vnto Isaiah the Prophet, the sonne of Amoz.
3 daß sie zu ihm sprächen: So spricht Hiskia: Das ist ein Tag des Trübsals, Scheltens und Lästerns, und gehet gleich, als wenn die Kinder bis an die Geburt kommen sind, und ist keine Kraft da zu gebären.
And they sayd vnto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of tribulation and of rebuke and blasphemie: for the children are come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring foorth.
4 Daß doch der HERR, dein Gott, hören wollte die Worte des Erzschenken, welchen sein HERR, der König zu Assyrien, gesandt hat, zu lästern den lebendigen Gott und zu schelten mit solchen Worten, wie der HERR, dein Gott, gehört hat! Und du wollest dein Gebet erheben für die Übrigen, die noch vorhanden sind.
If so be the Lord thy God hath heard the wordes of Rabshakeh, whom the King of Asshur his master hath sent to raile on the liuing God, and to reproch him with wordes which the Lord thy God hath heard, then lift thou vp thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
5 Und die Knechte des Königs Hiskia kamen zu Jesaja.
So the seruants of the King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6 Jesaja aber sprach zu ihnen: So saget eurem HERRN: Der HERR spricht also: Fürchte dich nicht vor den Worten, die du gehört hast, mit welchen mich die Knaben des Königs zu Assyrien geschmähet haben.
And Isaiah sayde vnto them, Thus say vnto your master, Thus saith the Lord, Be not afrayd of the wordes that thou hast heard, wherewith the seruants of the king of Asshur haue blasphemed me.
7 Siehe, ich will ihm einen andern Mut machen, und soll etwas hören, daß er wieder heimziehe in sein Land; und will ihn durchs Schwert fällen in seinem Lande.
Beholde, I wil send a blast vpon him, and he shall heare a noyse, and returne to his owne land, and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his owne land.
8 Da aber der Erzschenke wiederkam, fand er den König zu Assyrien streiten wider Libna; denn er hatte gehört, daß er von Lachis gezogen war.
So Rabshakeh returned, and found the King of Asshur fighting against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
9 Denn es kam ein Gerücht von Thirhaka, der Mohren Könige, sagend: Er ist ausgezogen, wider dich zu streiten.
He heard also men say of Tirhakah, King of Ethiopia, Beholde, he is come out to fight against thee: and when he heard it, he sent other messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
10 Da er nun solches hörete, sandte er Boten zu Hiskia und ließ ihm sagen: Saget Hiskia, dem Könige Judas, also: Laß dich deinen Gott nicht betrügen, auf den du dich verlässest und sprichst: Jerusalem wird nicht in die Hand des Königs zu Assyrien gegeben werden.
Thus shall ye speake to Hezekiah King of Iudah, saying, Let not thy God deceiue thee, in whom thou trustest, saying, Ierusalem shall not be giuen into the hand of the King of Asshur.
11 Siehe, du hast gehört, was die Könige zu Assyrien getan haben allen Landen und sie verbannet; und du solltest errettet werden?
Beholde, thou hast heard what the Kings of Asshur haue done to all lands in destroying them, and shalt thou be deliuered?
12 Haben auch die Götter der Heiden die Länder errettet, welche meine Väter verderbet haben, als Gosan, Haran, Rezeph und die Kinder Eden zu Thelassar?
Haue the gods of the nations deliuered them, which my fathers haue destroyed? as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden, which were at Telassar?
13 Wo ist der König zu Hamath und der König zu Arpad und der König der Stadt Sepharvaim, Hena und Iwa?
Where is the King of Hamath, and the King of Arpad, and the King of the citie of Sepharuaim, Hena and Iuah?
14 Und da Hiskia den Brief von den Boten empfangen und gelesen hatte, ging er hinauf in das Haus des HERRN und breitete ihn aus vor dem HERRN.
So Hezekiah receiued the letter of the hand of the messengers and read it, and he went vp into the House of the Lord, and Hezekiah spread it before the Lord.
15 Und Hiskia betete zum HERRN und sprach:
And Hezekiah prayed vnto the Lord, saying,
16 HERR Zebaoth, du Gott Israels, der du über den Cherubim sitzest, du bist alleine Gott über alle Königreiche auf Erden; du hast Himmel und Erde gemacht.
O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, which dwellest betweene the Cherubims, thou art very God alone ouer all the kingdomes of the earth: thou hast made the heauen and the earth.
17 HERR, neige deine Ohren und höre doch! HERR, tue deine Augen auf und siehe doch! Höre doch alle die Worte Sanheribs, die er gesandt hat, zu schmähen den lebendigen Gott!
Encline thine eare, O Lord, and heare: open thine eyes, O Lord, and see, and heare all the wordes of Saneherib, who hath sent to blaspheme the liuing God.
18 Wahr ist's, HERR, die Könige zu Assyrien haben wüste gemacht alle Königreiche samt ihren Landen
Trueth it is, O Lord, that the Kings of Asshur haue destroyed all lands, and their countrey,
19 und haben ihre Götter ins Feuer geworfen; denn sie waren nicht Götter, sondern Menschenhände Werk, Holz und Stein. Die sind umgebracht.
And haue cast their gods in ye fire: for they were no gods, but the worke of mans hands, euen wood or stone: therefore they destroyed them.
20 Nun aber, HERR, unser Gott, hilf uns von seiner Hand, auf daß alle Königreiche, auf Erden erfahren, daß du HERR seiest alleine.
Nowe therefore, O Lord our God, saue thou vs out of his hand, that all the kingdomes of the earth may knowe, that thou onely art the Lord.
21 Da sandte Jesaja, der Sohn Amoz, zu Hiskia und ließ ihm sagen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Daß du mich gebeten hast des Königs Sanherib halben zu Assyrien,
Then Isaiah the sonne of Amoz sent vnto Hezekiah, saying, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Because thou hast prayed vnto me, concerning Saneherib king of Asshur,
22 so ist das, das der HERR von ihm redet: Die Jungfrau Tochter Zion verachtet dich und spottet dein, und die Tochter Jerusalem schüttelt das Haupt dir nach.
This is the worde that the Lord hath spoken against him, the virgine, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorne: the daughter of Ierusalem, hath shaken her head at thee.
23 Wen hast du geschmähet und gelästert? Über wen hast du die Stimme erhoben? und hebest deine Augen empor wider den Heiligen in Israel.
Whome hast thou railed on and blasphemed? and against whome hast thou exalted thy voyce, and lifted vp thine eyes on hie? euen against the holy one of Israel.
24 Durch deine Knechte hast du den HERRN geschändet und sprichst: Ich bin durch die Menge meiner Wagen herauf gezogen auf die Höhe der Berge an den Seiten Libanons und habe seine hohen Zedern abgehauen samt seinen auserwählten Tannen und bin durch die Höhe bis ans Ende kommen, an diesen Wald auf dem Lande.
By thy seruants hast thou railed on the Lord, and sayd, By the multitude of my charets I am come vp to the top of the mountaines to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut downe the hie cedars thereof, and the faire firre trees thereof, and I will goe vp to the heightes of his top and to the forest of his fruitfull places.
25 Ich habe gegraben und getrunken die Wasser und habe mit meinen Fußsohlen ausgetrocknet alle verwahrten Wasser.
I haue digged and drunke the waters, and with the plant of my feete haue I dryed all the riuers closed in.
26 Hast du aber nicht gehört, daß ich vorzeiten also getan habe und vor alters so gehandelt und tue jetzt auch also, daß feste Städte zerstöret werden zu Steinhaufen,
Hast thou not heard howe I haue of olde time made it, and haue formed it long ago? and should I now bring it, that it should be destroyed, and layde on ruinous heapes, as cities defensed?
27 und ihre Einwohner geschwächt und zaghaft werden und mit Schanden bestehen und werden zu Feldgras und zu grünem Kraut, als Heu auf den Dächern, welches dorret, ehe denn es reif wird?
Whose inhabitants haue small power, and are afrayd and confounded: they are like the grasse of the field and greene herbe, or grasse on the house tops, or corne blassed afore it be growen.
28 Ich kenne aber deine Wohnung, deinen Auszug und Einzug und dein Toben wider mich.
But I know thy dwelling, and thy going out, and thy comming in, and thy fury against me.
29 Weil du denn wider mich tobest und dein Stolz herauf vor meine Ohren kommen ist, will ich dir einen Ring an die Nase legen und ein Gebiß in dein Maul und will dich des Weges wieder heimführen, des du kommen bist.
Because thou ragest against me, and thy tumult is come vnto mine eares, therefore will I put mine hooke in thy nostrels, and my bridle in thy lips, and wil bring thee backe againe the same way thou camest.
30 Das sei dir aber das Zeichen: Iß dies Jahr, was zertreten ist, das, andere Jahr, was selbst wächset; des dritten Jahrs säet und erntet, pflanzet Weinberge und esset ihre Früchte.
And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, O Hezekiah, Thou shalt eate this yeere such as groweth of it selfe: and the second yeere, such things as growe without sowing: and in the third yeere, sowe ye and reape, and plant vineyards, and eate the fruite thereof.
31 Denn die Erretteten vom Hause Juda und die überbleiben werden noch wiederum unter sich wurzeln und über sich Frucht tragen.
And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Iudah, shall againe take roote downward and beare fruite vpward.
32 Denn von Jerusalem werden noch ausgehen, die überblieben sind, und die Erretteten von dem Berge Zion. Solches wird tun der Eifer des HERRN Zebaoth.
For out of Ierusalem shall goe a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeale of the Lord of hostes shall doe this.
33 Darum spricht der HERR also vom Könige zu Assyrien: Er soll nicht kommen in diese Stadt und soll auch keinen Pfeil daselbst hinschießen und kein Schild davor kommen und soll keinen Wall um sie schütten,
Therefore thus sayth the Lord, concerning the King of Asshur, He shall not enter into this citie, nor shoote an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a mount against it.
34 sondern des Weges, des er kommen ist, soll er wiederkehren, daß er in diese Stadt nicht komme, spricht der HERR.
By the same way that he came, he shall returne, and not come into this citie, saith the Lord.
35 Denn ich will diese Stadt schützen, daß ich ihr aushelfe um, meinetwillen und um meines Dieners Davids willen.
For I will defend this citie to saue it, for mine owne sake, and for my seruant Dauids sake.
36 Da fuhr aus der Engel des HERRN und schlug im assyrischen Lager hundertundfünfundachtzigtausend Mann. Und da sie sich des Morgens früh aufmachten, siehe, da lag es alles eitel tote Leichname.
Then the Angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the campe of Asshur an hundreth, fourescore, and fiue thousand: so when they arose early in the morning, beholde, they were all dead corpses.
37 Und der König zu Assyrien, Sanherib, brach auf, zog weg und kehrete wieder heim und blieb zu Ninive.
So Saneherib king of Asshur departed, and went away and returned and dwelt at Nineueh.
38 Es begab sich auch, da er anbetete im Hause Nisrochs, seines Gottes, schlugen ihn seine Söhne Adramelech und Sarezer mit dem Schwert; und sie flohen ins Land Ararat. Und sein Sohn Assar-Haddon ward König an seiner Statt.
And as he was in the temple worshipping of Nisroch his god, Adramelech and Sharezer his sonnes slewe him with the sword, and they escaped into the land of Ararat: and Esarhaddon his sonne reigned in his steade.
