Jesaja 20

1 Im Jahr, da Tharthan gen Asdod kam, als ihn gesandt hatte Sargon, der König zu Assyrien, und stritt wider Asdod und gewann sie,

In the year of the coming in of Tartan to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Asshur sends him, and he fights against Ashdod and captures it,

2 zur selbigen Zeit redete der HERR durch Jesaja, den Sohn Amoz, und sprach: Gehe hin und zieh ab den Sack von deinen Lenden und zieh deine Schuhe aus von deinen Füßen. Und er tat also, ging nackend und barfuß.

at that time YHWH spoke by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and you have loosed the sackcloth from off your loins, and you draw your sandal from off your foot,” and he does so, going naked and barefoot.

3 Da sprach der HERR: Gleichwie mein Knecht Jesaja nackend und barfuß gehet zum Zeichen und Wunder dreier Jahre über Ägypten und Mohrenland,

And YHWH says, “As My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder for Egypt and for Cush,

4 also wird der König zu Assyrien hintreiben das gefangene Ägypten und vertriebene Mohrenland, beide jung und alt, nackend und barfuß, mit bloßer Scham, zu Schanden Ägyptens.

so the king of Asshur leads the captivity of Egypt, and the expulsion of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with seat uncovered—the nakedness of Egypt;

5 Und sie werden erschrecken und mit Schanden bestehen über dem Mohrenlande, darauf sie sich verließen, und wiederum das Mohrenland über den Ägyptern, welcher sie sich rühmeten.

and they have been frightened and ashamed of Cush their confidence, and of Egypt their beauty,

6 Und die Einwohner dieser Inseln werden sagen zur selbigen Zeit: Ist das unsere Zuversicht, da wir hinflohen um Hilfe, daß wir errettet würden von dem Könige zu Assyrien? Wie fein sind wir entronnen!

and the inhabitant of this island has said in that day—Behold, thus [is] our trust, To where we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape—we?”
