Galater 6
1 Liebe Brüder, so ein Mensch etwa von einem Fehl übereilet würde, so helfet ihm wieder zurecht mit sanftmütigem Geist, die ihr geistlich seid. Und siehe auf dich selbst, daß du nicht auch versucht werdest!
My friends, if someone is led astray by sin, you who are spiritual should bring them back with a gentle spirit. Watch out that you don't get tempted too.
2 Einer trage des andern Last, so werdet ihr das Gesetz Christi erfüllen.
Carry each other's burdens, for in this way you fulfill the law of Christ.
3 So aber sich jemand lässet dünken, er sei etwas, so er doch nichts ist, der betrüget sich selbst.
Those who think they're really something—when they're actually nothing—only fool themselves.
4 Ein jeglicher aber prüfe sein selbst Werk, und alsdann wird er an sich selber Ruhm haben und nicht an einem andern.
Carefully examine your actions. Then you can be satisfied with yourself, without comparing yourself to anyone else.
5 Denn ein jeglicher wird seine Last tragen.
We have to take responsibility for ourselves.
6 Der aber unterrichtet wird mit dem Wort, der teile mit allerlei Gutes dem, der ihn unterrichtet.
Those that are taught the Word should treat their teachers well, sharing with them all good things.
7 Irret euch nicht; Gott läßt sich nicht spotten! Denn was der Mensch säet, das wird er ernten.
Don't be fooled, God can't be treated with contempt: whatever you sow, that's what you reap.
8 Wer auf sein Fleisch säet, der wird von dem Fleisch das Verderben ernten; wer aber auf den Geist säet, der wird von dem Geist das ewige Leben ernten. (aiōnios g166)
If you sow according to your sinful human nature, from that nature you'll reap self-destruction. But if you sow according to the Spirit, from the Spirit you'll reap eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
9 Lasset uns aber Gutes tun und nicht müde werden; denn zu seiner Zeit werden wir auch ernten ohne Aufhören.
Let's never tire of doing good, for we'll reap a harvest at the proper time, if we don't give up.
10 Als wir denn nun Zeit haben, so lasset uns Gutes tun an jedermann, allermeist aber an des Glaubens Genossen.
So while we have time, let's do good to everyone—especially to those who belong to the family of faith.
11 Sehet, mit wie vielen Worten hab' ich euch geschrieben mit eigener Hand!

12 Die sich wollen angenehm machen nach dem Fleisch, die zwingen euch zu beschneiden, allein daß sie nicht mit dem Kreuz Christi verfolget werden.
Those people who only want to make a good impression are forcing you to be circumcised just so they won't be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
13 Denn auch sie selbst, die sich beschneiden lassen, halten das Gesetz nicht, sondern sie wollen, daß ihr euch beschneiden lasset, auf daß sie sich von eurem Fleisch rühmen mögen.
Even those who are circumcised don't keep the law, but they want to have you circumcised so that they can boast about you and claim you as their followers.
14 Es sei aber ferne von mir rühmen denn allein von dem Kreuz unsers HERRN Jesu Christi, durch welchen mir die Welt gekreuziget ist und ich der Welt.
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through this cross, the world has been crucified to me, and I've been crucified as far as the world is concerned.
15 Denn in Christo Jesu gilt weder Beschneidung noch Vorhaut etwas, sondern eine neue Kreatur.
Circumcision or uncircumcision doesn't matter—what matters is that we're created brand new!
16 Und wieviel nach dieser Regel einhergehen, über die sei Friede und Barmherzigkeit und über den Israel Gottes!
Peace and mercy to all who follow this principle, and to the Israel of God!
17 Hinfort mache mir niemand weiter Mühe; denn ich trage die Malzeichen des HERRN Jesu an meinem Leibe.
Please, don't anyone trouble me anymore, because I carry on my body the scars of Jesus.
18 Die Gnade unsers HERRN Jesu Christi sei mit eurem Geist, liebe Brüder! Amen.
My brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
