Amos 3
1 Höret, was der HERR mit euch redet, ihr Kinder Israel, nämlich mit allen Geschlechtern, die ich aus Ägyptenland geführet habe, und sprach:
Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Aus allen Geschlechtern auf Erden hab ich allein euch erkannt; darum will ich auch euch heimsuchen in all eurer Missetat.
You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
3 Mögen auch zween miteinander wandeln, sie seien denn eins untereinander?
Can two walk together, except they are agreed?
4 Brüllet auch ein Löwe im Walde, wenn er keinen Raub hat? Schreiet auch ein junger Löwe aus seiner Höhle, er habe denn etwas gefangen?
Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he hath taken nothing?
5 Fällt auch ein Vogel in den Strick auf der Erde, da kein Vogler ist? Hebt man auch den Strick auf von der Erde, der noch nichts gefangen hat?
Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin [is] for him? shall [one] take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
6 Bläset man auch die Posaune in einer Stadt, da sich das Volk davor nicht entsetze? Ist auch ein Unglück in der Stadt, das der HERR nicht tue?
Shalt a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done [it]?
7 Denn der HERR HERR tut nichts, er offenbare denn sein Geheimnis den Propheten, seinen Knechten.
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret to his servants the prophets.
8 Der Löwe brüllet; wer sollte sich nicht fürchten? Der HERR HERR redet; wer sollte nicht weissagen?
The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
9 Verkündiget in den Palästen zu Asdod und in den Palästen im Lande Ägypten und sprechet: Sammelt euch auf die Berge Samaria und sehet, welch ein groß Zetergeschrei und Unrecht drinnen ist!
Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst of it, and the oppressed in the midst of it.
10 Sie achten keines Rechten, spricht der HERR, sammeln Schätze von Frevel und Raube in ihren Palästen.
For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11 Darum spricht der HERR HERR also: Man wird dies Land ringsumher belagern und dich von deiner Macht herunterreißen und deine Häuser plündern.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary [there shall be] even around the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be plundered.
12 So spricht der HERR: Gleichwie ein Hirt dem Löwen zwei Kniee oder ein Ohrläpplein aus dem Maul reißet, also sollen die Kinder Israel herausgerissen werden, die zu Samaria wohnen und haben in der Ecke ein Bett und zu Damaskus eine Sponde.
Thus saith the LORD: As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus [in] a couch.
13 Höret und zeuget im Hause Jakobs, spricht der HERR HERR, der Gott Zebaoth.
Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,
14 Denn zur Zeit, wenn ich die Sünde Israels heimsuchen werde, will ich die Altäre zu Bethel heimsuchen und die Hörner des Altars abbrechen, daß sie zu Boden fallen sollen.
That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, I will also visit the altars of Beth-el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15 Und will beide, Winterhaus und Sommerhaus, schlagen; und sollen die elfenbeinernen Häuser untergehen und viel Häuser verderbet werden, spricht der HERR.
And I will smite the winter-house with the summer-house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
