1 Im zwölften Jahr Ahas, des Königs Judas, ward König über Israel zu Samaria Hosea, der Sohn Elas, neun Jahre.
In the twelft yeere of Ahaz King of Iudah began Hoshea the sonne of Elah to reigne in Samaria ouer Israel, and reigned nine yeeres.
2 Und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, doch nicht wie die Könige Israels, die vor ihm waren.
And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, but not as the Kinges of Israel, that were before him.
3 Wider denselben zog herauf Salmanasser, der König zu Assyrien. Und Hosea ward ihm untertan, daß er ihm Geschenke gab.
And Shalmaneser king of Asshur came vp against him, and Hoshea became his seruant, and gaue him presents.
4 Da aber der König zu Assyrien inne ward, daß Hosea einen Bund anrichtete und Boten hatte zu So, dem Könige in Ägypten, gesandt, und nicht darreichte Geschenke dem Könige zu Assyrien alle Jahre, belagerte er ihn und legte ihn ins Gefängnis.
And the King of Asshur founde treason in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So King of Egypt, and brought no present vnto the King of Asshur, as he had done yeerely: therfore the king of Asshur shut him vp, and put him in prison.
5 Und der König zu Assyrien zog aufs ganze Land und gen Samaria und belagerte sie drei Jahre.
Then the king of Asshur came vp throughout all the lande, and went against Samaria, and besieged it three yeere.
6 Und im neunten Jahr Hoseas gewann der König zu Assyrien Samaria und führete Israel weg nach Assyrien und setzte sie zu Halah und zu Habor, am Wasser Gosan, und in den Städten der Meder.
In the ninth yeere of Hoshea, the King of Asshur tooke Samaria, and caryed Israel away vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah, and in Habor by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7 Denn da die Kinder Israel wider den HERRN, ihren Gott, sündigten (der sie aus Ägyptenland geführet hatte, aus der Hand Pharaos, des Königs in Ägypten) und andere Götter fürchteten
For when the children of Israel sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them out of the land of Egypt, from vnder ye hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and feared other gods,
8 und wandelten nach der Heiden Weise, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertrieben hatte, und wie die Könige Israels taten;
And walked according to the facions of the Heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel, and after the maners of the Kings of Israel, which they vsed,
9 und die Kinder Israel schmückten ihre Sachen wider den HERRN, ihren Gott, die doch nicht gut waren, nämlich daß sie ihnen Höhen baueten in allen Städten, beide in Schlössern und festen Städten,
And the children of Israel had done secretly things that were not vpright before the Lord their God, and throughout all their cities had built hie places, both from the tower of the watch, to the defensed citie,
10 und richteten Säulen auf und Haine auf allen hohen Hügeln und unter allen grünen Bäumen;
And had made them images and groues vpon euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree,
11 und räucherten daselbst auf allen Höhen, wie die Heiden, die der HERR vor ihnen weggetrieben hatte, und trieben böse Stücke, damit sie den HERRN erzürneten;
And there burnt incense in all the hie places, as did the heathen, whom the Lord had taken away before them, and wrought wicked things to anger the Lord,
12 und dieneten den Götzen, davon der HERR zu ihnen gesagt hatte: Ihr sollt solches nicht tun;
And serued idoles: whereof the Lord had sayd vnto them, Ye shall do no such thing,
13 und wenn der HERR bezeugte in Israel und Juda durch alle Propheten und Schauer und ließ ihnen sagen: Kehret um von euren bösen Wegen und haltet meine Gebote und Rechte nach allem Gesetz, das ich euren Vätern geboten habe und das ich zu euch gesandt habe durch meine Knechte, die Propheten,
Notwithstanding the Lord testified to Israel, and to Iudah by all the Prophets, and by all the Seers, saying, Turne from your euill wayes, and keepe my commandements and my statutes, according to all the Lawe, which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my seruants the Prophets.
14 so gehorchten sie nicht, sondern härteten ihren Nacken, wie der Nacken ihrer Väter, die nicht glaubeten an den HERRN ihren Gott;
Neuerthelesse they would not obey, but hardened their neckes, like to the neckes of their fathers, that did not beleeue in the Lord their God.
15 dazu verachteten sie seine Gebote und seinen Bund, den er mit ihren Vätern gemacht hatte, und seine Zeugnisse, die er unter ihnen tat, sondern wandelten ihrer Eitelkeit nach und wurden eitel den Heiden nach, die um sie her wohneten, von welchen ihnen der HERR geboten hatte, sie sollten nicht wie sie tun;
And they refused his statutes and his couenant, that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies (wherewith he witnessed vnto them) and they followed vanitie, and became vaine, and followed the heathen that were round about them: concerning whome the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16 aber sie verließen alle Gebote des HERRN, ihres Gottes, und machten ihnen zwei gegossene Kälber und Haine; und beteten an alle Heere des Himmels und dieneten Baal;
Finally they left all the commandements of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, euen two calues, and made a groue, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen, and serued Baal.
17 und ließen ihre Söhne und Töchter durchs Feuer gehen und gingen mit Weissagen und Zaubern um; und übergaben sich zu tun, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, ihn zu erzürnen;
And they made their sonnes and their daughters passe thorowe the fire, and vsed witchcraft and inchantments, yea, solde them selues to doe euill in the sight of the Lord, to anger him.
18 da ward der HERR sehr zornig über Israel und tat sie von seinem Angesicht, daß nichts überblieb denn der Stamm Juda alleine.
Therefore the Lord was exceeding wroth with Israel, and put them out of his sight, and none was left but the tribe of Iudah onely.
19 Dazu hielt auch Juda nicht die Gebote des HERRN, ihres Gottes, und wandelten nach den Sitten Israels, die sie getan hatten.
Yet Iudah kept not the commandements of the Lord their God, but walked according to the facion of Israel, which they vsed.
20 Darum verwarf der HERR allen Samen Israels und drängete sie und gab sie in die Hände der Räuber, bis daß er sie verwarf von seinem Angesicht.
Therefore the Lord cast off all the seede of Israel, and afflicted them, and deliuered them into the handes of spoylers, vntill he had cast them out of his sight.
21 Denn Israel ward gerissen vom Hause Davids; und sie machten zum Könige Jerobeam, den Sohn Nebats. Derselbe wandte Israel hinten ab vom HERRN und machte, daß sie schwerlich sündigten.
For he cut off Israel from the house of Dauid, and they made Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat King: and Ieroboam drewe Israel away from following the Lord, and made them sinne a great sinne.
22 Also wandelten die Kinder Israel in allen Sünden Jerobeams, die er angerichtet hatte, und ließen nicht davon,
For the children of Israel walked in all the sinnes of Ieroboam, which he did, and departed not therefrom,
23 bis der HERR Israel von seinem Angesicht tat, wie er geredet hatte durch alle seine Knechte, die Propheten. Also ward Israel aus seinem Lande weggeführet nach Assyrien bis auf diesen Tag.
Vntill the Lord put Israel away out of his sight, as he had said by all his seruants the Prophets, and caryed Israel away out of their land to Asshur vnto this day.
24 Der König aber zu Assyrien ließ kommen von Babel, von Kutha, von Ava, von Hemath und Sepharvaim und besetzte die Städte in Samaria anstatt der Kinder Israel. Und sie nahmen Samaria ein und wohneten in derselben Städten.
And the King of Asshur brought folke from Babel, and from Cuthah, and from Aua, and from Hamath, and from Sepharuaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria in steade of the children of Israel: so they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
25 Da sie aber anhuben, daselbst zu wohnen, und den HERRN nicht fürchteten, sandte der HERR Löwen unter sie, die erwürgeten sie.
And at the beginning of their dwelling there, they feared not the Lord: therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which slewe them.
26 Und sie ließen dem Könige zu Assyrien sagen: Die Heiden, die du hast hergebracht und die Städte Samarias damit besetzt, wissen nichts von der Weise des Gottes im Lande; darum hat er Löwen unter sie gesandt, und siehe, dieselben töten sie, weil sie nicht wissen um die Weise des Gottes im Lande.
Wherefore they spake to the King of Asshur, saying, The nations which thou hast remoued, and placed in the cities of Samaria, knowe not the maner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and behold, they slay them, because they knowe not the maner of the God of the land.
27 Der König zu Assyrien gebot und sprach: Bringet dahin der Priester einen, die von dannen sind weggeführet, und ziehet hin und wohnet daselbst; und er lehre sie die Weise des Gottes im Lande.
Then the King of Asshur commanded, saying, Carie thither one of the Priestes whome ye brought thence, and let him goe and dwell there, and teache them the maner of the God of the countrey.
28 Da kam der Priester einer, die von Samaria weggeführet waren, und setzte sich zu Bethel und lehrete sie, wie sie den HERRN fürchten sollten.
So one of the Priestes, which they had caryed from Samaria, came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they shoulde feare the Lord.
29 Aber ein jeglich Volk machte seinen Gott und taten sie in die Häuser auf den Höhen, die die Samariter machten, ein jeglich Volk in ihren Städten, darinnen sie wohneten.
Howbeit euery nation made their gods, and put them in the houses of the hie places, which the Samaritanes had made, euery nation in their cities, wherein they dwelt.
30 Die von Babel machten Suchoth-Benoth. Die von Chuth machten Nergel. Die von Hemath machten Asima.
For the men of Babel made Succoth-Benoth: and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
31 Die von Ava machten Nibehas und Tharthak. Die von Sepharvaim verbrannten ihre Söhne dem Adramelech und Anamelech, den Göttern derer von Sepharvaim.
And the Auims made Nibhaz, and Tartak: and the Sepharuims burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech, and Anammelech the gods of Sepharuaim.
32 Und weil sie den HERRN auch fürchteten, machten sie ihnen Priester auf den Höhen aus den Untersten unter ihnen und taten sie in die Häuser auf den Höhen.
Thus they feared the Lord, and appoynted out Priestes out of them selues for the hie places, who prepared for them sacrifices in the houses of the hie places.
33 Also fürchteten sie den HERRN und dieneten auch den Göttern nach eines jeglichen Volks Weise, von dannen sie hergebracht waren.
They feared the Lord, but serued their gods after the maner of the nations whome they caryed thence.
34 Und bis auf diesen Tag tun sie nach der alten Weise, daß sie weder den HERRN fürchten noch ihre Sitten und Rechte tun nach dem Gesetz und Gebot, das der HERR geboten hat den Kindern Jakobs, welchem er den Namen Israel gab,
Vnto this day they doe after the olde maner: they neyther feare God, neyther doe after their ordinances, nor after their customes, nor after the Lawe, nor after the commandement, which the Lord commanded the children of Iaakob, whom he named Israel,
35 und machte einen Bund mit ihnen und gebot ihnen und sprach: Fürchtet keine andern Götter und betet sie nicht an und dienet ihnen nicht und opfert ihnen nicht,
And with whom the Lord had made a couenant, and charged them, saying, Feare none other gods, nor bowe your selues to them, nor serue them, nor sacrifice to them:
36 sondern den HERRN, der euch aus Ägyptenland geführet hat mit großer Kraft und ausgerecktem Arm, den fürchtet, den betet an und dem opfert;
But feare the Lord which brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power, and a stretched out arme: him feare ye, and worshippe him, and sacrifice to him.
37 und die Sitten, Rechte, Gesetze und Gebote, die er euch hat beschreiben lassen, die haltet, daß ihr danach tut allewege und nicht andere Götter fürchtet;
Also keepe ye diligently the statutes and the ordinances, and the Lawe, and the commandement, which he wrote for you, that ye do them continually, and feare not other gods.
38 und des Bundes, den er mit euch gemacht hat, vergesset nicht, daß ihr nicht andere Götter fürchtet,
And forget not the couenant that I haue made with you, neither feare ye other gods,
39 sondern fürchtet den HERRN, euren Gott, der wird euch erretten von allen euren Feinden.
But feare the Lord your God, and he will deliuer you out of the handes of all your enemies.
40 Aber diese gehorchten nicht, sondern taten nach ihrer vorigen Weise.
Howbeit they obeyed not, but did after their olde custome.
41 Also fürchteten diese Heiden den HERRN und dieneten auch ihren Götzen. Also taten auch ihre Kinder und Kindeskinder, wie ihre Väter getan haben, bis auf diesen Tag.
So these nations feared the Lord, and serued their images also: so did their children, and their childrens children: as did their fathers, so do they vnto this day.
