2 Korinther 2
1 Ich dachte aber solches bei mir, daß ich nicht abermal in Traurigkeit zu euch käme.
And I decided this to myself, not to come again to you in sorrow,
2 Denn so ich euch traurig mache, wer ist, der mich fröhlich mache, ohne der da von mir betrübet wird?
for if I make you sorry, then who is he who is making me glad, except he who is made sorry by me?
3 Und dasselbige habe ich euch geschrieben, daß ich nicht, wenn ich käme, traurig sein müßte, über welche ich mich billig sollte freuen, sintemal ich mich des zu euch allen versehe, daß meine Freude euer aller Freude sei.
And I wrote to you this same thing, that having come, I may not have sorrow from them of whom it was necessary [for] me to have joy, having confidence in you all, that my joy is of you all,
4 Denn ich schrieb euch in großer Trübsal und Angst des Herzens mit viel Tränen, nicht daß ihr solltet betrübet werden, sondern auf, daß ihr die Liebe erkennetet, welche ich habe sonderlich zu euch.
for out of much tribulation and pressure of heart I wrote to you through many tears, not that you might be made sorry, but that you might know the love that I have more abundantly toward you.
5 So aber jemand eine Betrübnis hat angerichtet, der hat nicht mich betrübet, ohne zum Teil, auf daß ich nicht euch alle beschwere.
And if anyone has caused sorrow, he has not caused sorrow to me, but in part, that I may not burden you all;
6 Es ist aber genug, daß derselbige von vielen also gestraft ist.
sufficient to such a one is this punishment, that [is] by the greater part,
7 daß ihr nun hinfort ihm desto mehr vergebet und tröstet, auf daß er nicht in allzu große Traurigkeit versinke.
so that, on the contrary, [it is] rather for you to forgive and to comfort, lest by over abundant sorrow such a one may be swallowed up;
8 Darum ermahne ich euch, daß ihr die Liebe an ihm beweiset.
for this reason, I call on you to confirm love to him,
9 Denn darum habe ich euch auch geschrieben, daß ich erkennete, ob ihr rechtschaffen seid, gehorsam zu sein in allen Stücken.
for this also I wrote, that I might know your proof, whether you are obedient in regard to all things.
10 Welchem aber ihr etwas vergebet, dem vergebe ich auch. Denn auch ich, so ich etwas vergebe jemandem, das vergebe ich um euretwillen an Christi Statt,
And to whom you forgive anything—I also; for I also, if I have forgiven anything, to whom I have forgiven [it], because of you—in the person of Christ—[I forgive it, ]
11 auf daß wir nicht übervorteilt werden vom Satan; denn uns ist nicht unbewußt, was er im Sinn hat.
that we may not be over-reached by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
12 Da ich aber gen Troas kam, zu predigen das Evangelium Christi, und mir eine Tür aufgetan war in dem HERRN,
And having come to Troas for the good news of the Christ, and a door having been opened to me in the LORD,
13 hatte ich keine Ruhe in meinem Geist, da ich Titus, meinen Bruder, nicht fand, sondern ich machte meinen Abschied mit ihnen und fuhr aus nach Mazedonien.
I have not had rest to my spirit, on my not finding my brother Titus, but having taken leave of them, I went forth to Macedonia;
14 Aber Gott sei gedankt, der uns allezeit Sieg gibt in Christo und offenbaret den Geruch seiner Erkenntnis durch uns an allen Orten.
and to God [is] thanks, who at all times is leading us in triumph in the Christ, and the fragrance of His knowledge He is revealing through us in every place;
15 Denn wir sind Gott ein guter Geruch Christi, beide, unter denen, die selig werden, und unter denen, die verloren werden:
we are a refreshing fragrance to God because of Christ, in those being saved, and in those being lost;
16 diesen ein Geruch des Todes zum Tode, jenen aber ein Geruch des Lebens zum Leben. Und wer ist hiezu tüchtig?
to one, indeed, a fragrance of death to death, and to the other, a fragrance of life to life; and who is sufficient for these things?
17 Denn wir sind nicht wie etliche viele, die das Wort Gottes verfälschen, sondern als aus Lauterkeit und als aus Gott, vor Gott reden wir in Christo.
For we are not as the many, adulterating the word of God, but as of sincerity—but as of God; in the presence of God, in Christ we speak.
