Sacharja 7
1 Im vierten Jahre des Königs Darius erging das Wort Jahwes an Sacharja; am vierten Tage des neunten Monats, im Monate Kislew,
When King Darius had been ruler for four years, on the fourth day of Kislev (which was the ninth month), the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah.
2 sandte die Familie des Elsarezer und Regem Melech samt seinen Leuten eine Gesandtschaft, um Jahwe zu begütigen,
The people of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-Melek and their men to beg before the face of Yahweh.
3 mit folgender Anfrage an die Priester, die zum Tempel Jahwes der Heerscharen gehören, und an die Propheten: Soll ich im fünften Monate weinen und fasten, wie ich nun schon so und so viele Jahre getan habe?
They spoke to the priests who were at the house of Yahweh of hosts and to the prophets; they said, “Should I mourn in the fifth month by means of a fast, as I have done these many years?”
4 Da erging das Wort Jahwes der Heerscharen an mich folgendermaßen:
So the word of Yahweh of hosts came to me, saying,
5 Sprich zu dem ganzen Volke des Landes und zu den Priestern also: wenn ihr jeweilen im fünften und im siebenten Monate nun schon siebzig Jahre gefastet und geklagt habt, hat da euer Fasten wirklich mir gegolten?
“Speak to all the people of the land and to the priests and say, 'When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month for these seventy years, were you truly fasting for me?
6 Und wenn ihr eßt und trinkt, seid dann nicht ihr es, die essen, und ihr es, die trinken?
When you ate and drank, did you not eat and drink for yourselves?
7 Sind nicht dies die Worte, die Jahwe durch die früheren Propheten predigen ließ, als Jerusalem noch bewohnt und in ungestörtem Frieden war samt seinen Städten rings um es her, und als der Süden samt der Niederung noch bevölkert war?
Were these not the same words that Yahweh proclaimed by the mouth of the former prophets, when you still inhabited Jerusalem and the surrounding cities in prosperity and were settled in the Negev, and the foothills to the west?'”
8 Da erging das Wort Jahwes an Sacharja folgendermaßen:
The word of Yahweh came to Zechariah, saying,
9 So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen: “Übt Redlichkeit im Rechtsprechen und erweist einander Liebe und Barmherzigkeit!
“Yahweh of hosts says this, 'Judge with true justice, covenant faithfulness, and mercy. Let each man do this for his brother.
10 Bedrückt Witwen und Waisen, Fremde und Arme nicht und sinnt in eurem Herzen nicht Böses gegeneinander!”
About the widow and orphan, the foreigner, and the poor person—do not oppress them, and let none of you plot any harm against another in your heart.'
11 Aber sie weigerten sich aufzumerken, und ihre Schulter sträubte sich gegen das Joch; sie machten ihre Ohren taub, daß sie nicht hörten,
But they refused to pay attention and set their shoulders stubbornly. They stopped up their ears so they would not hear.
12 und verhärteten ihre Herzen zu Diamant, daß sie die Weisung und die Worte nicht hörten, die Jahwe der Heerscharen durch seinen Geist, durch die früheren Propheten, gesandt hatte. Da brach bei Jahwe der Heerscharen ein gewaltiger Zorn aus,
They made their hearts as hard as rock so they would not hear the law or the words of Yahweh of hosts. He had sent these messages to the people by his Spirit in earlier times, by the mouth of the prophets. But the people refused to listen, so Yahweh of hosts was very angry with them.
13 und gleichwie er gerufen, sie aber nicht gehört hatten, ebenso - sprach Jahwe der Heerscharen - sollen sie nun rufen, ohne daß ich höre.
It happened that when he called, they did not listen. In the same way,” said Yahweh of hosts, “they will call out to me, but I will not listen.
14 Sondern ich will sie zerstäuben unter alle Völker, die ihnen vorher unbekannt waren, und das Land soll, nachdem sie es verlassen haben, eine Wüste werden, so daß niemand auf seiner Hin- oder Herfahrt es durchzieht. So verwandelten sie ein herrliches Land in eine Einöde.
For I will scatter them with a whirlwind to all the nations that they have not seen, and the land will be desolate after them. For no one will pass through the land or return to it since the people have made their delightful land into a wasteland.”
