Rut 3
1 Da sprach ihre Schwiegermutter Naemi zu ihr: Meine Tochter, ich werde dir eine Heimat verschaffen, damit es dir wohl gehe.
Afterward Naomi her mother in lawe said vnto her, My daughter, shall not I seeke rest for thee, that thou mayest prosper?
2 Nun denn, Boas, dessen Mädchen du dich angeschlossen hast, ist ja unser Verwandter; der worfelt eben heute Nacht die Gerstentenne.
Now also is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maides thou wast? beholde, he winoweth barly to night in the floore.
3 So wasche und salbe dich, lege deine besten Kleider an und gehe zur Tenne hinunter; aber gieb dich dem Mann nicht zu erkennen, bis er mit Essen und Trinken fertig ist.
Wash thy sellfe therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment vpon thee, and get thee downe to the floore: let not the man know of thee, vntill he haue left eating and drinking.
4 Dann aber, wenn er sich niederlegt, merke den Ort, wohin er sich legt, gehe hin, decke den Platz zu seinen Füßen auf und lege dich hin; er wird dir dann sagen, was du thun sollst.
And when he shall sleepe, marke the place where he layeth him downe, and go, and vncouer the place of his feete, and lay thee downe, and he shall tell thee what thou shalt doe.
5 Sie erwiderte ihr: ganz wie du sagst, will ich thun!
And she answered her, All that thou biddest me, I will doe.
6 Hierauf ging sie zur Tenne hinunter und that ganz, wie ihre Schwiegermutter sie geheißen hatte.
So she went downe vnto the floore, and did according to all that her mother in lawe bade her.
7 Als nun Boas gegessen und getrunken hatte und guter Dinge geworden war, ging er, um sich hinter dem Getreidehaufen niederzulegen. Sie aber kam leise herbei, deckte den Platz zu seinen Füßen auf und legte sich hin.
And when Boaz had eaten, and drunken, and cheared his heart, he went to lie downe at the end of the heape of corne, and she came softly, and vncouered the place of his feet, and lay downe.
8 Da, um Mitternacht, erschrak der Mann, und als er sich vorbeugte - da befand sich, daß ein Weib an seinem Fußende lag.
And at midnight the man was afraide and caught holde: and loe, a woman lay at his feete.
9 Er rief: Wer bist du? Sie antwortete: Ich bin deine Magd Ruth: breite deinen Fittig über deine Magd aus, denn du bist Löser!
Then he sayd, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmayd: spread therefore the wing of thy garment ouer thine handmayd: for thou art the kinsman.
10 Er erwiderte: Mögest du von Jahwe gesegnet sein, meine Tochter! Du hast nachgehends deine Liebe noch schöner bethätigt, als zuvor, indem du nicht den jungen Männern nachliefest, ob arm oder reich.
Then sayd he, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: thou hast shewed more goodnes in the latter end, then at the beginning, in as much as thou followedst not yong men, were they poore or rich.
11 Nun denn, meine Tochter, sei getrost! Ich werde ganz deinen Worten gemäß an dir handeln; im Thore meiner Volksgenossen weiß ja ein jeder, daß du eine wackere Frau bist.
And now, my daughter, feare not: I will doe to thee all that thou requirest: for all the citie of my people doeth knowe, that thou art a vertuous woman.
12 Nun also, es ist ja wahr, daß ich Löser bin; aber es ist außerdem ein Löser vorhanden, der noch näher verwandt ist als ich.
And now, it is true that I am thy kinsman, howbeit there is a kinsman neerer then I.
13 Bleibe die Nacht hier: wenn er dich dann am Morgen löst, gut, so mag er es thun; hat er aber keine Lust, dich zu lösen, so werde ich dich lösen, so wahr Jahwe lebt! Lege dich bis zum Morgen nieder!
Tarie to night, and when morning is come, if he will doe the duetie of a kinsman vnto thee, well, let him doe the kinsmans duetie: but if he will not doe the kinsmans part, then wil I doe the duetie of a kinsman, as the Lord liueth: sleepe vntill the morning.
14 Also legte sie sich bis zum Morgen an seinem Fußende nieder. Dann erhob sie sich, ehe noch ein Mensch den andern erkennen konnte. Er dachte nämlich: Es darf nicht bekannt werden, daß die Frau auf die Tenne gekommen ist!
And she lay at his feete vntill the morning: and she arose before one could know another: for he sayd, Let no man knowe, that a woman came into the floore.
15 Da sagte er: Nimm den Überwurf, den du anhast, und halte ihn her! Sie hielt ihn hin. Da maß er sechs Maß Gerste ab und lud es ihr auf. So kam sie in die Stadt.
Also he sayd, Bring the sheete that thou hast vpon thee, and holde it. And when she helde it, he measured sixe measures of barly, and layde them on her, and she went into the citie.
16 Als sie nun zu ihrer Schwiegermutter kam, fragte diese: Wie steht's mit dir, meine Tochter? Da erzählte sie ihr alles, was ihr der Mann erwiesen hatte,
And when she came to her mother in law, she sayd, Who art thou, my daughter? And she tolde her all that the man had done to her,
17 und sprach: diese sechs Maß Gerste hat er mir gegeben, denn er sagte: Du darfst nicht leer zu deiner Schwiegermutter kommen!
And said, These sixe measures of barly gaue he me: for he sayd to me, Thou shalt not come emptie vnto thy mother in lawe.
18 Da sagte sie: verhalte dich ruhig, meine Tochter, bis du weißt, wie die Sache ausfällt! Denn der Mann wird nicht ruhen, ehe er die Sache heute zu Ende geführt hat.
Then sayd she, My daughter, sit still, vntill thou knowe how the thing will fall: for the man wil not be in rest, vntill he hath finished the matter this same day.
