Psalm 98

1 Ein Psalm. Singt Jahwe ein neues Lied, denn er hat Wunder gethan: es half ihm seine Rechte und sein heiliger Arm.

A psalm. Oh, sing to Yahweh a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have given him victory.

2 Jahwe hat sein Heil kund gethan; vor den Augen der Völker offenbarte er seine Gerechtigkeit.

Yahweh has made known his salvation; he has openly showed his justice to all the nations.

3 Er gedachte seiner Gnade und Treue gegen das Haus Israel; alle Enden der Erde sahen das Heil unseres Gottes.

He calls to mind his covenant loyalty and faithfulness for the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God.

4 Jauchzt Jahwe, alle Lande; brecht in Jubel aus und lobsingt!

Shout for joy to Yahweh, all the earth; burst into song, sing for joy, and sing praises.

5 Lobsingt Jahwe mit der Zither, mit der Zither und lautem Gesang.

Sing praises to Yahweh with the harp, with the harp and melodious song.

6 Mit Trompeten und Posaunenschall jauchzt vor dem König Jahwe!

With trumpets and the sound of the horn, make a joyful noise before the King, Yahweh.

7 Es brause das Meer und was es füllt, der Erdkreis und die darauf wohnen.

Let the sea shout and everything in it, the world and those who live in it!

8 Die Ströme sollen in die Hände klatschen, die Berge insgesamt jubeln

Let the rivers clap their hands, and let the mountains shout for joy.

9 vor Jahwe, denn er kommt, die Erde zu richten. Er wird den Erdkreis mit Gerechtigkeit richten und die Völker, wie es recht ist.

Yahweh is coming to judge the earth; he will judge the world with righteousness and the nations with fairness.
