Psalm 72
1 Von Salomo. Gott, gieb dein Gericht dem Könige und deine Gerechtigkeit dem Königssohn.
God, give your mishpat ·justice· to the King Messiah [Anointed one]; and your righteousness to the Son of David [Beloved] the King.
2 Möge er dein Volk mit Gerechtigkeit richten und deine Elenden mit Recht.
He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor afflicted ones with right judgments.
3 Mögen die Berge dem Volke Heil tragen, und die Hügel, durch Gerechtigkeit.
The mountains shall bring peace and prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.
4 Er wird den Elenden im Volke Recht schaffen; er wird den Kindern des Armen helfen und den Gewaltthätigen zermalmen.
He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.
5 Er wird dauern, so lange wie die Sonne und im Angesichte des Mondes Geschlecht auf Geschlecht!
They shall fear you, the King Messiah [Anointed one], while the sun endures; and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
6 Er wird sich herabsenken wie Regen auf die frischgemähte Aue, wie Regenschauer, die das Land befeuchten.
He will come down like rain on the cut grass of the earth, as showers that water the earth.
7 In seinen Tagen wird der Fromme blühn, und Fülle des Friedens herrschen, bis kein Mond mehr ist.
In his days, the upright shall be multiplied, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.
8 Und er wird herrschen von Meer zu Meer und vom Euphratstrome bis zu den Enden der Erde.
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.
9 Vor ihm werden die Widersacher ihre Kniee beugen, und seine Feinde müssen Staub lecken.
Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.
10 Die Könige von Tarsis und den Inseln werden Geschenke entrichten, die Könige von Saba und Seba Tribut herzubringen.
The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11 Und alle Könige werden sich vor ihm niederwerfen, alle Völker ihm dienen.
Yes, all kings shall hawa ·bow low, prostrate· before him. All nations shall serve him.
12 Denn er rettet den Armen, der um Hilfe schreit, und den Elenden und den, der keinen Helfer hat.
For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper.
13 Er erbarmt sich des Geringen und Armen und den Seelen der Armen hilft er.
He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy.
14 Aus Bedrückung und Gewaltthat erlöst er ihre Seele, und kostbar ist ihr Blut in seinen Augen.
He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.
15 Und er wird leben, und man wird ihm vom Golde Sabas geben; man wird beständig für ihn beten, allezeit wird man ihn segnen.
They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba. Men shall pray for him continually. They shall bless him all day long.
16 Es wird Überfluß von Korn im Lande sein, auf dem Gipfel der Berge; seine Frucht wird rauschen, wie der Libanon, und aus der Stadt werden sie hervorblühn, wie die Pflanzen aus der Erde.
There shall be an abundance of corn throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field outside the city.
17 Sein Name wird ewig währen; im Angesichte der Sonne wird sein Name sprossen. Mit ihm werden sich alle Geschlechter der Erde einander Segen wünschen, alle Völker werden ihn glücklich preisen.
His name endures forever. His name existed before the creation of the sun. Men shall be blessed by him. All nations will call him blessed.
18 Gepriesen sei Jahwe Gott, der Gott Israels, der allein Wunder thut,
Praise be to Adonai God, the God of Israel [God prevails], who alone does marvelous deeds.
19 und gepriesen sei sein herrlicher Name in Ewigkeit, und alle Lande müssen erfüllt werden von seiner Herrlichkeit! Amen, Amen!
Blessed be his kavod ·weighty glorious· name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his kavod ·weighty glory·! Amen v'Amen ·So be it and So be it·.
