Psalm 66
1 Dem Musikmeister. Ein Lied. Ein Psalm. Jauchzet Gott, alle Lande!
For the Leader. A Song, a Psalm. Shout unto God, all the earth;
2 Singt von der Herrlichkeit seines Namens, macht seinen Lobpreis herrlich.
Sing praises unto the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.
3 Sprecht zu Gott: “Wie furchtbar ist dein Thun! Ob der Größe deiner Macht heucheln dir deine Feinde.
Say unto God: 'How tremendous is Thy work! Through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies dwindle away before Thee.
4 Alle Lande müssen sich vor dir niederwerfen und dir lobsingen, von deinem Namen lobsingen.” (Sela)
All the earth shall worship Thee, and shall sing praises unto Thee; they shall sing praises to Thy name.' (Selah)
5 Geht hin und seht die Thaten Gottes, der furchtbar ist mit seinem Thun über den Menschenkindern.
Come, and see the works of God; He is terrible in His doing toward the children of men.
6 Er verwandelte das Meer in trockenes Land, zu Fuße gingen sie im Strom hinüber: daselbst freuten wir uns über ihn!
He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot; there let us rejoice in Him!
7 Er herrscht in Ewigkeit durch seine Stärke; seine Augen spähen auf die Völker: die Widerspenstigen dürfen sich nicht erheben. (Sela)
Who ruleth by His might for ever; His eyes keep watch upon the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves. (Selah)
8 Preist, ihr Völker, unsern Gott und laßt seinen Ruhm laut erschallen,
Bless our God, ye peoples, and make the voice of His praise to be heard;
9 der unserer Seele Leben verlieh und unsern Fuß nicht wanken ließ!
Who hath set our soul in life, and suffered not our foot to be moved,
10 Denn du hast uns geprüft, o Gott, hast uns geläutert, wie man Silber läutert,
For Thou, O God, hast tried us; Thou hast refined us, as silver is refined.
11 hast uns ins Netz gebracht, hast drückende Last auf unsere Hüften gelegt.
Thou didst bring us into the hold; Thou didst lay constraint upon our loins.
12 Du hast Menschen über unser Haupt dahinfahren lassen, ins Feuer und ins Wasser sind wir gekommen, aber du hast uns herausgeführt ins Weite.
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; but Thou didst bring us out unto abundance.
13 Ich will mit Brandopfern zu deinem Tempel kommen, will dir meine Gelübde bezahlen,
I will come into Thy house with burnt-offerings, I will perform unto Thee my vows,
14 zu denen sich meine Lippen aufgethan, und die mein Mund in meiner Not geredet hat.
Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in distress.
15 Brandopfer von fetten Schafen will ich dir darbringen samt dem Opferduft von Widdern, will Rinder samt Böcken opfern. (Sela)
I will offer unto Thee burnt-offerings of fatlings, with the sweet smoke of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. (Selah)
16 Kommt, hört zu, ihr Gottesfürchtigen alle, daß ich erzähle, was er meiner Seele gethan hat!
Come, and hearken, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul.
17 Zu ihm rief ich mit meinem Munde, und Lobpreis war auf meiner Zunge.
I cried unto Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.
18 Hätte ich Frevel vorgehabt in meinem Sinne, so würde mich der Herr nicht hören.
If I had regarded iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not hear;
19 Aber Gott hat gehört, hat auf mein lautes Beten geachtet.
But verily God hath heard; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Gepriesen sei Gott, der mein Gebet nicht abwies und mir seine Gnade nicht entzog.
Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.
