Sprueche 24
1 Ereifere dich nicht um boshafter Leute willen und hege kein Gelüste, dich ihnen zuzugesellen;
Sue thou not yuele men, desire thou not to be with hem.
2 den Gewaltthat sinnt ihr Herz, und Unheil reden ihre Lippen.
For the soule of hem bithenkith raueyns, and her lippis speken fraudis.
3 Durch Weisheit wird ein Haus gebaut und durch verständiges Wesen wird es fest gegründet;
An hous schal be bildid bi wisdom, and schal be maad strong bi prudence.
4 durch Einsicht werden die Kammern gefüllt mit allerlei kostbarer und lieblicher Habe.
Celeris schulen be fillid in teching, al riches preciouse and ful fair.
5 Ein weiser Mann ist besser als ein starker, und ein einsichtiger besser als ein kraftvoller;
A wijs man is strong, and a lerned man is stalworth and miyti.
6 denn mit kluger Leitung wirst du glücklich Krieg führen, und wohl steht's, wo genug Ratgeber sind.
For whi batel is bigunnun with ordenaunce, and helthe schal be, where many counsels ben.
7 Unerschwinglich ist für den Narren die Weisheit; im Thore thut er seinen Mund nicht auf.
Wisdom is hiy to a fool; in the yate he schal not opene his mouth.
8 Wer sich vornimmt, Böses zu thun, den nennt man einen Erzbösewicht.
He that thenkith to do yuels, schal be clepid a fool.
9 Ein närrisches Vorhaben ist die Sünde, und ein Greuel für die Menschen ist der Spötter.
The thouyte of a fool is synne; and a bacbitere is abhomynacioun of men.
10 Zeigst du dich schlaff am Tage der Not, so ist auch schwächlich deine Kraft.
If thou that hast slide, dispeirist in the dai of angwisch, thi strengthe schal be maad lesse.
11 Errette, die zum Tode geschleppt werden, und die zur Schlachtbank wanken, o halte sie zurück!
Delyuere thou hem, that ben led to deth; and ceesse thou not to delyuere hem, that ben drawun to deth.
12 Wolltest du sagen: “Wir haben ja nichts davon gewußt!” - Fürwahr, der die Herzen wägt, der merkt es, und der auf deine Seele acht hat, der weiß es und wird dem Menschen vergelten nach seinem Thun.
If thou seist, Strengthis suffisen not; he that is biholdere of the herte, vndirstondith, and no thing disseyueth the kepere of thi soule, and he schal yelde to a man bi hise werkis.
13 Iß Honig, mein Sohn, denn er ist gut, und Honigseim ist süß auf deinem Gaumen.
Mi sone, ete thou hony, for it is good; and an honycomb ful swete to thi throte.
14 Ebenso erachte die Weisheit für deine Seele: Hast du sie erlangt, so ist eine Zukunft vorhanden, und deine Hoffnung wird nicht zu nichte werden.
`So and the techyng of wisdom is good to thi soule; and whanne thou hast founde it, thou schalt haue hope in the laste thingis, and thin hope schal not perische.
15 Belaure nicht, Gottloser, die Wohnstatt des Frommen und verstöre seine Lagerstätte nicht.
Aspie thou not, and seke not wickidnesse in the hous of a iust man, nether waste thou his reste.
16 Denn siebenmal fällt der Fromme und steht wieder auf, aber die Gottlosen sinken hin in Unglück.
For a iust man schal falle seuene sithis in the dai, and schal rise ayen; but wickid men schulen falle in to yuele.
17 Wenn dein Feind fällt, so freue dich nicht, und wenn er hinsinkt, frohlocke nicht dein Herz,
Whanne thin enemye fallith, haue thou not ioye; and thin herte haue not ful out ioiyng in his fal;
18 daß nicht Jahwe es sehe und Mißfallen empfinde und seinen Zorn von jenem hinweg auf dich wende.
lest perauenture the Lord se, and it displese hym, and he take awei his ire fro hym.
19 Erhitze dich nicht über die Bösewichter, ereifere dich nicht über die Gottlosen.
Stryue thou not with `the worste men, nether sue thou wickid men.
20 Denn der Böse wird keine Zukunft haben; die Leuchte der Gottlosen erlischt.
For whi yuele men han not hope of thingis to comynge, and the lanterne of wickid men schal be quenchid.
21 Fürchte Jahwe, mein Sohn, und den König; mit Aufrührerischen laß dich nicht ein.
My sone, drede thou God, and the kyng; and be thou not medlid with bacbiteris.
22 Denn plötzlich erhebt sich ihr Verderben, und beider Untergang kommt unversehens.
For her perdicioun schal rise togidere sudenli, and who knowith the fal of euer either?
23 Auch diese Sprüche sind von Weisen. Parteilichkeit im Gericht ist ein übel Ding.
Also these thingis that suen ben to wise men. It is not good to knowe a persoone in doom.
24 Wer zum Schuldigen spricht: “Du hast Recht!”, den verwünschen Völker, verfluchen Nationen.
Puplis schulen curse hem, that seien to a wickid man, Thou art iust; and lynagis schulen holde hem abhomynable.
25 Denen aber, welche nach Gebühr strafen, geht es wohl, und über sie kommt Segen und Glück.
Thei that repreuen iustli synners, schulen be preisid; and blessing schal come on hem.
26 Die Lippen küßt, wer eine richtige Antwort giebt.
He that answerith riytful wordis, schal kisse lippis.
27 Richte draußen dein Geschäft aus und mache dir's auf dem Felde fertig; darnach magst du dein Haus bauen.
Make redi thi werk with outforth, and worche thi feelde dilygentli, that thou bilde thin hous aftirward.
28 Sei nicht ohne Ursache Zeuge wider deinen Nächsten; denn möchtest du wohl Bethörung mit deinen Lippen anrichten?
Be thou not a witnesse with out resonable cause ayens thi neiybore; nether flatere thou ony man with thi lippis.
29 Sprich nicht: “Wie er mir gethan, so will ich ihm wieder thun; ich will dem Manne nach seinem Thun vergelten!”
Seie thou not, As he dide to me, so Y schal do to him, and Y schal yelde to ech man aftir his werk.
30 Am Acker eines faulen Mannes ging ich vorüber und am Weinberg eines unverständigen Menschen.
I passide bi the feeld of a slow man, and bi the vyner of a fonned man; and, lo!
31 Da fand sich: er war ganz in Nesseln aufgegangen, seine Oberfläche war mit Unkraut bedeckt, und seine Steinmauer war eingerissen.
nettlis hadden fillid al, thornes hadden hilid the hiyere part therof, and the wal of stoonys with out morter was distried.
32 Ich aber schaute, richtete meinen Sinn darauf, sah hin, entnahm mir daraus eine Warnung:
And whanne Y hadde seyn this thing, Y settide in myn herte, and bi ensaumple Y lernyde techyng.
33 Ja, noch ein wenig Schlaf, ein wenig Schlummer, noch ein wenig die Hände ineinanderschlagen, um zu ruhen,
Hou longe slepist thou, slow man? whanne schalt thou ryse fro sleep? Sotheli thou schalt slepe a litil, thou schalt nappe a litil, thou schalt ioyne togidere the hondis a litil, to take reste;
34 so kommt wie ein Landstreicher die Armut über dich, und der Mangel wie ein gewappneter Mann.
and thi nedynesse as a currour schal come to thee, and thi beggerie as an armed man.
