4 Mose 23
1 Da sprach Bileam zu Balak: Laß hier sieben Altäre für mich errichten und sieben junge Stiere und sieben Widder hier für mich bereit stellen.
And Balaam seide to Balaach, Bilde thou here to me seuene auteris, and make redi so many caluys, and rammes of the same noumbre.
2 Balak that, wie Bileam verlangt hatte, und Balak und Bileam brachten auf jedem Altar einen Farren und einen Widder dar.
And whanne he hadde do bi the word of Balaam, thei puttiden a calf and a ram to gidere on the auter.
3 Hierauf sprach Bileam zu Balak: Bleibe hier bei deinem Brandopfer; ich will hingehen, vielleicht wird sich Jahwe mir irgendwie offenbaren. Was er mich auch erschauen lassen wird, will ich dir dann mitteilen. Da ging er auf einen kahlen Hügel.
And Balaam seide to Balaach, Stond thou a litil while bisidis thi brent sacrifice, while Y go, if in hap the Lord meete me; and Y schal `speke to thee what euer thing he schal comaunde.
4 Da offenbarte sich Gott Bileam, und er sprach zu ihm: die sieben Altäre habe ich zugerüstet und auf jedem einen Farren und einen Widder dargebracht.
And whanne he hadde go swiftli, God cam to hym; and Balaam spak to hym, and seide, Y reiside seuene auteris, and Y puttide a calf and a ram aboue.
5 Da legte Jahwe dem Bileam Worte in den Mund und sprach zu ihm: Kehre zu Balak zurück und sprich also!
Forsothe the Lord `puttide a word in his mouth, and seide, Turne ayen to Balaach, and thou schalt speke these thingis.
6 Da kehrte er zu ihm zurück; er aber stand noch da bei seinem Brandopfer mit allen Häuptlingen der Moabiter.
He turnede ayen, and fond Balach stondynge bisidis his brent sacrifice, and alle the princes of Moabitis.
7 Da trug er seinen Spruch vor und sprach: Aus Aram läßt mich Balak holen, aus den Bergen des Ostlands der Moabiter König. Geh, verfluche mir Jakob, ja, geh, verwünsche Israel!
And whanne his parable `was takun, he seide, Balaach, the kyng of Moabitis, brouyte me fro Aran, fro the `hillis of the eest; and he seide, Come thou and curse Jacob; haaste thou, and greetli curse thou Israel.
8 Wie soll ich verfluchen, den Gott nicht verflucht, und wie soll ich verwünschen, den Jahwe nicht verwünscht?
How schal Y curse whom God cursid not? bi what resoun schal Y `haue abhomynable whom God `hath not abhomynable?
9 Denn von Felsengipfeln sehe ich ihn und von Anhöhen erblicke ich ihn. Es ist ein Volk, das abgesondert wohnt und sich nicht rechnet unter die Völker.
Fro the hiyeste flyntis Y schal se hym, and fro litle hillis Y schal biholde hym; the puple schal dwelle aloone, and it schal not be arettid among hethene men.
10 Wer kann zählen die Erdkrumen Jakobs und wer berechnen die Myriaden Israels? Möchte ich einst sterben, wie Gerechte sterben, und möchte mein Ende sein, wie das seinige!
Who may noumbre the dust, that is, kynrede, of Jacob, and knowe the noumbre of the generacioun of Israel? My lijf die in the deeth of iust men, and my laste thingis be maad lijk hem!
11 Da sprach Balak zu Bileam: Was hast du mir da gethan! Um meine Feinde zu verwünschen, habe ich dich kommen lassen; du aber hast nur gesegnet!
And Balaach seide to Balaam, What is this that thou doist? Y clepide thee, that thou schuldist curse myn enemyes, and ayenward thou blessist hem.
12 Er aber erwiderte: Muß ich nicht genau so reden, wie Jahwe es mir in den Mund legt?
To whom Balaam answeride, Whether Y may speke othir thing no but that that the Lord comaundith?
13 Balak aber sprach zu ihm: komm mit mir an eine andere Stelle, von wo aus du es sehen kannst, - aber nur einen Teil von ihm kannst du sehen, das Ganze kannst du nicht sehen - und verwünsche mir es dort!
Therfor Balaach seide to Balaam, Come with me in to anothir place, fro whennus thou se a part of Israel, and mayst not se al; fro thennus curse thou hym.
14 Hierauf führte er ihn auf das Gefilde Zophim nach dem Gipfel des Pisga, errichtete sieben Altäre und brachte auf jedem derselben einen Farren und einen Widder dar.
And whanne he hadde led Balaam in to an hiy place, on the cop of the hil of Phasga, he bildide seuene auteris to Balaam, and whanne calues and rammes weren put aboue,
15 Da sprach er zu Balak: warte hier bei deinem Brandopfer; ich aber will dort eine Offenbarung suchen.
he seide to Balaach, Stonde here bisidis thi brent sacrifice, while Y go.
16 Da offenbarte sich Jahwe Bileam, legte ihm Worte in den Mund und befahl ihm: Kehre zu Balak zurück und sprich also!
And whanne the Lord hadde `come to him, and hadde put `a word in his mouth, he seide, Turne ayen to Balach, and thou schalt seie these thingis to hym.
17 Da kam er zu ihm; er aber stand noch da bei seinem Brandopfer mit den Häuptlingen der Moabiter. Da fragte ihn Balak: Was hat Jahwe geredet?
He turnyde ayen, and foond Balach stondynge bisidis his brent sacrifice, and the princis of Moabitis with hym. To whom Balach seide, What spak the Lord?
18 Da trug er seinen Spruch vor und sprach: Wohlan, Balak, horch auf! Höre mir zu, Sohn Zipors!
And whanne his parable `was takun, he seide, Stonde, Balach, and herkene; here, thou sone of Sephor. God is not `as a man,
19 Gott ist nicht ein Mensch, daß er sein Wort bräche, noch ein Menschenkind, dass ihn etwas reute. SoIlte er etwas ankündigen und nicht ausführen? Sollte er etwas verheißen und nicht ins Werk setzen?
that he lye, nethir he is as the sone of a man, that he be chaungid; therfor he seide, and schal he not do? he spak, and schal he not fulfille?
20 Zu segnen wurde mir aufgetragen: so will ich denn segnen und nehme es nicht zurück!
Y am brouyt to blesse, Y may not forbede blessyng.
21 Nicht erblickt man Unheil in Jakob, noch findet man Leid in Israel. Jahwe, sein Gott, ist mit ihm, und Königsjubel erschallt bei ihm.
Noon idol is in Jacob, nethir symylacre is seyn in Israel; his Lord God is with hym, and the sown of victorie of kyng is in hym.
22 Gott führte sie auf Ägypten hinweg, Hörner wie die eines Wildochsen hat es.
The Lord God ledde hym out of Egipt, whos strengthe is lijk an vnicorn;
23 Denn keine Beschwörung haftet an Jakob, und keine Bezauberung an Israel. Jetzt kann man von Jakob und Israel nur rufen: wie Großes hat Gott gethan!
fals tellyng bi chiteryng of bryddis, `ethir idolatrie, is not in Jacob, nethir fals dyuynyng is in Israel. In his tymes it schal be seide to Jacob and Israel, What the Lord hath wrought!
24 Ja, wie eine Löwin macht sich das Volk auf, und wie ein Löwe erhebt es sich. Nicht legt es sich nieder, bevor es Beute verzehrt und Blut Erschlagener getrunken hat.
Lo! the puple schal rise to gidere as a lionesse, and schal be reisid as a lioun; the lioun schal not reste, til he deuoure prey, and drynke the blood of hem that ben slayn.
25 Da sprach Balak zu Bileam: Du sollst es weder verwünschen, noch segnen.
And Balach seide to Balaam, Nether curse thou, nether blesse thou hym.
26 Bileam aber antwortete Balak: Habe ich es dir nicht gesagt: Alles, was Jahwe verlangt, werde ich thun?
And he seide, Whether Y seide not to thee, that what euer thing that God comaundide to me, Y wolde do this?
27 Hierauf sprach Balak zu Bileam: Komm, ich will dich an eine andere Stelle führen; vielleicht willigt Gott ein, daß du mir es dort verwünschest!
And Balach seide to hym, Come, and Y schal lede thee to an other place, if in hap it plesith God that fro thennus thou curse hym.
28 Da führte Balak Bileam auf den Gipfel des Peor, der auf die Wüste herabschaut.
And whanne Balaach hadde led hym out on the `cop of the hil of Phegor, that biholdith the wildirnesse,
29 Bileam aber sprach zu Balak: Laß hier sieben Altäre für mich errichten und sieben Farren und sieben Widder hier für mich bereit stellen!

30 Balak that, wie Bileam gewünscht hatte, und er brachte auf jedem Altar einen Farren und einen Widder dar.
Balaach dide as Balaam seide, and he puttide caluys and rammes, bi alle auteris.
