Matthaeus 10
1 Und er rief seine zwölf Jünger herbei, und gab ihnen Vollmacht über unreine Geister, nämlich sie auszutreiben, und alle Krankheit und Gebrechen zu heilen.
And he called to him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they might cast them out, and care every disease and every infirmity.
2 Die Namen aber der zwölf Apostel lauten: erstens Simon genannt Petrus und Andreas sein Bruder, und Jakobus der Sohn des Zebedäus und Johannes sein Bruder,
Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: the first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Philippus und Bartholomäus, Thomas und Matthäus der Zöllner, Jakobus der Sohn des Alphäus und Lebbäus,
Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphæus, and Lebbæus, who was surnamed Thaddæus;
4 Simon der Kananäer und Judas der Iskariote, derselbe, der ihn verriet.
Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up.
5 Diese zwölf sandte Jesus aus und befahl ihnen also:
These twelve Jesus sent forth after he had charged them, saying: Go not into the road that leads to the Gentiles, and enter not a city of the Samaritans.
6 Ziehet auf keiner Heidenstraße, und betretet keine Samariterstadt,
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 gehet aber vielmehr zu den verlorenen Schafen vom Hause Israel. Auf eurem Gange aber verkündet: das Reich der Himmel ist herbeigekommen.
And as you go, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Kranke heilet, Tote wecket auf, Aussätzige reiniget, Dämonen treibt aus. Umsonst habt ihr es empfangen, umsonst gebet es.
Cure the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
9 Schaffet euch kein Gold noch Silber noch Münze an in eure Gürtel,
Provide for yourselves neither gold, nor silver, nor brass, to put into your purses,
10 keine Tasche auf den Weg, keine zwei Röcke, noch Schuhe noch Stock; denn der Arbeiter verdient seine Nahrung.
nor bag for your journey, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staffs: for the laborer is worthy of his support.
11 Wo ihr aber in eine Stadt oder in ein Dorf eintretet, erforschet, wer es dort wert ist, und da bleibet, bis ihr weiter zieht.
Whatever city or village you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there make your home till you go away.
12 Wenn ihr aber das Haus betretet, so grüßet dasselbe.
When you go into a house, salute it:
13 Und wenn es das Haus wert ist, so komme euer Friede über dasselbe. Ist es aber nicht wert, so soll euer Friede wieder zu euch zurückkehren.
and if the house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you.
14 Und wo man euch nicht aufnimmt und nicht auf eure Worte hört, da gehet hinaus aus dem Hause oder aus der Stadt und schüttelt euch den Staub von den Füßen.
And whoever will not receive you, nor hear your words, when you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.
15 Wahrlich, ich sage euch, es wird dem Lande Sodom und Gomorrha erträglicher gehen am Tage des Gerichtes als dieser Stadt.
Verily I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 Siehe, ich sende euch wie Schafe mitten unter Wölfe; so seid denn klug wie die Schlangen und ohne Falsch wie die Tauben.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be, therefore, wise as serpents, and guileless as doves.
17 Nehmet euch aber in Acht vor den Menschen, denn sie werden euch an Ratsversammlungen ausliefern und werden euch in ihren Synagogen geißeln;
But beware of men: for they will deliver you to the councils, and scourge you in their synagogues;
18 und vor Statthalter und Fürsten werdet ihr um meinetwillen geführt werden, zum Zeugnis für sie und die Völker.
and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 Wenn sie euch aber vorführen, so sorget nicht, wie oder was ihr reden sollt; denn es wird euch in jener Stunde gegeben werden, was ihr reden sollt.
But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what you shall speak; for that which you shall speak shall be given you in that hour:
20 Denn nicht ihr seid es, die da reden, sondern der Geist eures Vaters, der durch euch redet.
for it is not you that speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father that speaks in you.
21 Es wird aber ein Bruder den Bruder ausliefern zum Tode, und ein Vater sein Kind, und werden aufstehen Kinder gegen Eltern und sie zum Tode bringen.
Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father the child; and children will rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 Und ihr werdet gehaßt sein von allen um meines Namens willen. Der aber ausharrt bis an's Ende, der wird gerettet werden.
And you will be hated by all men on my account: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.
23 Wenn sie euch aber verfolgen in der einen Stadt, so fliehet in die andere; wahrlich ich sage euch, ihr sollt noch nicht fertig sein mit den Städten Israels, bis der Sohn des Menschen kommt.
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another: for verily I say to you, You will not have made the circuit of the cities of Israel before the Son of man shall come.
24 Ein Jünger ist nicht über dem Meister, noch ein Knecht über seinem Herrn.
The disciple is not above his teacher, nor the servant above his master.
25 Der Jünger muß zufrieden sein, daß es ihm gehe wie seinem Meister, und der Knecht wie seinem Herrn. Haben sie den Hausherrn Beelzebul geheißen, wie vielmehr seine Leute?
It is enough for the disciple, that he be as his teacher; and for the servant, that he be as his master. If they call the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household?
26 So fürchtet euch denn nicht vor ihnen. Denn es ist nichts verhüllt, was nicht enthüllt werden, und nichts verborgen, was nicht zur Erkenntnis kommen wird.
Fear them not, therefore; for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be made known.
27 Was ich euch sage in der Finsternis - sprechet es aus im Licht! und was ihr ins Ohr hört - verkündet es auf den Dächern!
What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light: and what you hear in the ear, preach on the house-tops.
28 Und fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib töten, aber die Seele nicht töten können; fürchtet euch aber vielmehr vor dem, der Seele und Leib dem Verderben übergeben kann in der Hölle. (Geenna g1067)
And fear not them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna g1067)
29 Verkauft man nicht zwei Sperlinge um ein Aß? Und doch fällt nicht einer von ihnen zur Erde ohne euren Vater.
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and yet not one of them shall fall upon the ground with out your Father.
30 Bei euch aber sind auch die Haare auf dem Kopf alle gezählt.
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 So fürchtet euch denn nicht; ihr seid mehr als viele Sperlinge.
Fear not, therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows.
32 Wer überall nun sich zu mir bekennt vor den Menschen, zu dem will auch ich mich bekennen vor meinem Vater in den Himmeln.
Whoever, therefore, will confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
33 Wer aber mich verleugnet vor den Menschen, den will auch ich verleugnen vor meinem Vater in den Himmeln.
But whoever will deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
34 Denket nicht, daß ich gekommen sei, Frieden zu bringen auf die Erde; ich bin nicht gekommen, Frieden zu bringen, sondern das Schwert.
Think not that I have come to send peace on the earth. I have not come to send peace, but a sword.
35 Ich bin gekommen, zu entzweien einen Menschen mit seinem Vater, die Tochter mit ihrer Mutter, die Schwiegertochter mit ihrer Schwiegermutter,
For I have come to set a man at variance with his father, and the daughter with her mother, and the daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law:
36 und seine eigenen Leute werden des Menschen Feinde sein.
and a man’s enemies shall be those of his own household.
37 Wer Vater oder Mutter mehr liebt denn mich, ist mein nicht wert; und wer Sohn oder Tochter mehr liebt denn mich, ist mein nicht wert;
He that loves father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me:
38 und wer nicht sein Kreuz nimmt, und folget mir nach, ist mein nicht wert.
and whoever does not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
39 Wer sein Leben gewinnt, der wird es verlieren, und wer sein Leben verliert um meinetwillen, der wird es gewinnen.
He that finds his life shall lose it; and he that loses his life for my sake, shall find it.
40 Wer euch aufnimmt, nimmt mich auf, und wer mich aufnimmt, nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat.
He that receives you, receives me: and he that receives me, receives him that sent me.
41 Wer einen Propheten aufnimmt auf den Propheten-Namen, wird eines Propheten Lohn empfangen, und wer einen Gerechten aufnimmt auf den Gerechten-Namen, wird eines Gerechten Lohn empfangen.
He that receives a prophet because he is a prophet, shall receive a prophet’s reward: and he that receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 Und wer einem von diesen Kleinen nur einen Becher frischen Wassers reicht auf den Jünger-Namen - wahrlich, ich sage euch, er soll mit nichten um seinen Lohn kommen.
And whoever will give one of these little ones only a cup of cold water to drink, because he is a disciple, verily I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
