Maleachi 4
1 Denn fürwahr, der Tag kommt, brennend heiß wie das Feuer im Ofen. Alle Übermütigen und alle, die Frevelthaten verübten, werden dann Stoppeln sein, und der Tag, der da kommt, spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, wird sie versengen, so daß weder Wurzel noch Zweig von ihnen übrig bleibt.
For see, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the arrogant and all the evildoers will become stubble. The day that is coming will burn them up,” says Yahweh of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.
2 Euch aber, die ihr meinen Namen fürchtet, wird die Sonne der Gerechtigkeit aufgehen, Heilung unter ihren Fittigen bergend, und ihr werdet hervorkommen und hüpfen wie Kälber, die aus dem Stall herausgelassen werden,
But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and you will leap like calves from the stall.
3 und werdet die Gottlosen zertreten, daß sie unter den Sohlen eurer Füße zu Asche werden, an dem Tage, den ich bereite, spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen.
On that day you will trample down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I act,” says Yahweh of hosts.
4 Gedenkt an das Gesetz meines Knechtes Mose, dem ich am Horeb Satzungen und Rechte für ganz Israel anbefohlen habe.
“Remember the teaching of my servant Moses that I gave him at Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and the rulings.
5 Fürwahr, ich werde euch den Propheten Elia senden, bevor der große und furchtbare Tag Jahwes hereinbricht,
See, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and fearful day of Yahweh.
6 daß er die Väter mit den Söhnen und die Söhne mit den Vätern aussöhne, damit ich nicht komme und den Bannfluch an dem Lande vollstrecke.
He will turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, so that I do not come and attack the land with complete destruction.”
