Josua 18
1 Und die ganze Gemeinde der Israeliten versammelte sich nach Silo; daselbst richteten sie das Offenbarungszelt auf, indem ihnen das Land unterworfen war.
Then the whole congregation of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there. And though the land was subdued before them,
2 Es waren aber unter den Israeliten noch sieben Stämme übrig, die ihren Erbbesitz noch nicht verteilt hatten.
there were still seven tribes of Israel who had not yet received their inheritance.
3 da sprach Josua zu den Israeliten: Wie lange wollt ihr euch lässig zeigen, daß ihr nicht hingeht, um das Land in Besitz zu nehmen, das euch Jahwe, der Gott eurer Väter, verliehen hat?
So Joshua said to the Israelites, “How long will you put off entering and possessing the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?
4 Bringt drei Männer von jedem Stamme, so will ich sie aussenden, damit sie sich aufmachen und im Land umherziehen, es mit Rücksicht auf ihren Bedarf an Erbbesitz schriftlich aufnehmen und wieder zu mir kommen;
Appoint three men from each tribe, and I will send them out to survey the land and map it out, according to the inheritance of each. Then they will return to me
5 alsdann mögen sie sieben Teile machen und es unter sich verteilen. Juda behält sein Gebiet im Süden, und das Haus Josephs behält sein Gebiet im Norden.
and divide the land into seven portions. Judah shall remain in their territory in the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain in their territory in the north.
6 Ihr aber sollt das Land, nachdem ihr es in sieben Teile zerlegt habt, schriftlich aufnehmen und mir die Aufzeichnungen hierher bringen, damit ich hier vor Jahwe, unserem Gotte, das Los für euch werfe.
When you have mapped out the seven portions of land and brought it to me, I will cast lots for you here in the presence of the LORD our God.
7 Denn die Leviten erhalten keinen Anteil unter euch, vielmehr ist das Priestertum Jahwes ihr Erbbesitz. Gad aber und Ruben und der halbe Stamm Manasse haben ihren Erbbesitz jenseits, östlich vom Jordan, empfangen, indem ihnen Mose, der Knecht Jahwes, denselben angewiesen hat.
The Levites, however, have no portion among you, because their inheritance is the priesthood of the LORD. And Gad, Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh have already received the inheritance that Moses the servant of the LORD gave them beyond the Jordan to the east.”
8 Da machten sich die Männer auf und zogen von dannen, und Josua gab den Ausziehenden Anweisung, das Land schriftlich aufzunehmen, indem er sprach: Geht hin, zieht im Land umher, nehmt es schriftlich auf, und kommt wieder zu mir; so will ich dann hier vor Jahwe in Silo das Los für euch werfen.
As the men got up to go out, Joshua commanded them to map out the land, saying, “Go and survey the land, map it out, and return to me. Then I will cast lots for you here in Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.”
9 Da gingen die Männer hin, durchzogen das Land und nahmen es in sieben TeilenStadt für Stadt schriftlich auf in ein Buch; sodann kamen sie zu Josua ins Lager nach Silo.
So the men departed and went throughout the land, mapping it city by city into seven portions. Then they returned with the document to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh.
10 Da warf Josua zu Silo vor Jahwe das Los für sie, und Josua teilte dort den Israeliten das Land aus, so wie es ihren Abteilungen entsprach.
And Joshua cast lots for them in the presence of the LORD at Shiloh, where he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their divisions.
11 Da kam heraus das Los für die verschiedenen Geschlechter des Stammes der Benjaminiten, und zwar kam das Gebiet, das ihnen durch das Los zufiel, zwischen die Judäer und die Josephiten zu liegen.
The first lot came up for the clans of the tribe of Benjamin. Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph:
12 Es geht aber ihre Grenze auf der Nordseite vom Jordan aus. Sodann zieht sich die Grenze aufwärts zu dem Bergrücken nördlich von Jericho und weiter hinauf auf das Gebirge nach Westen zu und läuft aus nach der Steppe von Beth Aven zu.
On the north side their border began at the Jordan, went up past the northern slope of Jericho, headed west through the hill country, and came out at the wilderness of Beth-aven.
13 Von da zieht sich die Grenze hinüber nach Lus auf die Südseite des Bergrückens von Lus, das ist Bethel; sodann zieht sich die Grenze hinab nach Ateroth. Addar auf den Berg, der südlich vom unteren Beth Horon liegt.
From there the border crossed over to the southern slope of Luz (that is, Bethel) and went down to Ataroth-addar on the hill south of Lower Beth-horon.
14 Sodann biegt die Grenze um und wendet sich auf ihrer Westseite von dem Berge aus, der südlich vor Beth Horon liegt, südwärts und läuft aus nach Kirjath Baal, das ist die judäische Stadt Kirjath Jearim. Das ist die Westseite.
On the west side the border curved southward from the hill facing Beth-horon on the south and came out at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city of the sons of Judah. This was the western side.
15 Die Südseite aber geht aus von der Grenze von Kirjath Jearim; sodann setzt sich die Grenze fort nach Westen und setzt sich fort zur Quelle des Wassers von Nephthoah.
On the south side the border began at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim and extended westward to the spring at the Waters of Nephtoah.
16 Sodann zieht sich die Grenze hinab bis ans Ende des Bergs, der östlich vom Thale Ben Hinnom und der auf der Nordseite der Ebene Rephaim liegt. Sodann zieht sie sich hinab ins Thal Hinnom südlich vom Bergrücken der Jebusiter und weiter hinab zur Quelle Rogel.
Then it went down to the foot of the hill that faces the Valley of Hinnom at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim and ran down the Valley of Hinnom toward the southern slope of the Jebusites and downward to En-rogel.
17 Hierauf biegt sie um nach Norden und setzt sich fort nach En Semes und weiter bis Geliloth, welches der Stiege von Adummin gegenüber liegt. Sodann zieht sie sich hinab zum Steine Bohans, des Sohnes Rubens,
From there it curved northward and proceeded to En-shemesh and on to Geliloth facing the Ascent of Adummim, and continued down to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.
18 hinüber zu dem Bergrücken, der nordwärts der Araba gegenüber liegt; sodann zieht sie sich hinab in die Araba.
Then it went on to the northern slope of Beth-arabah and went down into the valley.
19 Sodann zieht sich die Grenze hinüber bis nördlich vom Bergrücken von Beth Hogla und die Grenze endigt an der Nordspitze des Salzmeers, am südlichen Ende des Jordan. das ist die Südgrenze.
The border continued to the northern slope of Beth-hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan. This was the southern border.
20 Auf der Ostseite aber bildet der Jordan die Grenze. Das sind die Grenzen rings um den Erbbesitz der verschiedenen Geschlechter der Benjaminiten.
On the east side the border was the Jordan. These were the borders around the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin.
21 Die Städte der verschiedenen Geschlechter des Stammes der Benjaminiten aber sind: Jericho, Beth Hogla, Emek Keziz,

22 Beth Araba, Zemaraim, Bethel,
Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,
23 Avim, Hapara, Ophra,
Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,
24 Kephar Ammoni, Ophni, Geba - zwölf Städte mit den zugehörigen Dörfern.
Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba—twelve cities, along with their villages.
25 Gibeon, Rama, Beeroth,
Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,
26 Mizpe, Kephira, Moza,
Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,
27 Rekem, Jirpeel, Tharala,
Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,
28 Zela, Eleph und die Jebusiterstadt, das ist Jerusalem, Gibeath und Kirjath - vierzehn Städte mit den zugehörigen Dörfern. Das ist der Erbbesitz der verschiedenen Geschlechter der Benjaminiten.
