Johannes 5

1 Nach diesem war ein Fest der Juden, und Jesus gieng hinauf nach Jerusalem.

AFTER these there was a feast of the Jihudoyee, and Jeshu went up to Urishlem.

2 Es ist aber in Jerusalem bei dem Schafthore ein Teich, auf hebräisch Bethzatha genannt, mit fünf Hallen.

Now there was there in Urishlem a certain place of ablution, which was called in Hebrew Bethchesda, and having in it five porticoes.

3 In diesen saß eine Menge von Kranken, Blinden, Lahmen, Darrsüchtigen, welche auf die Bewegung des Wassers warteten;

And in these were many infirm people, blind and lame and withered, awaiting the moving of the waters.

4 denn ein Engel stieg zu gewisser Zeit herab in den Teich und rührte das Wasser auf. Der erste nun, welcher nach der Aufrührung des Wassers hineinstieg, der ward gesund, mit welcher Krankheit er behaftet sein mochte.

For an angel at times descended to the pool and moved the waters; and he who first descended after the movement of the waters was healed of whatever disease he had.

5 Es war aber daselbst ein Mensch, der schon acht und dreißig Jahre krank war.

But a certain man was there who for thirtyand-eight years had been in a disease.

6 Da diesen Jesus daliegen sah und wußte, daß es schon so lange mit ihm währte, sagt er zu ihm: willst du gesund werden?

Jeshu saw this (man) as he lay, and knew that for a long time he had (been thus), and said to him, Art thou willing to be healed?

7 Es antwortete ihm der Kranke: Herr, ich habe keinen Menschen, daß der mich, wenn das Wasser aufgerührt wird, in den Teich schaffe; während ich aber auf dem Weg bin, steigt ein anderer vor mir hinab.

The diseased man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man who, when the waters are moved, shall cast me into the pool: but while I am coming, another before me descendeth.

8 Sagt Jesus zu ihm: stehe auf, nimm deine Bahre und wandle.

Jeshu saith to him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 Und alsbald ward der Mensch gesund und nahm seine Bahre und wandelte. Es war aber Sabbat an jenem Tage.

And in the instant that man was healed, and, arising, he took up his bed, and walked: and that day was the shabath.

10 Da sagten die Juden zu dem Geheilten: es ist Sabbat, du darfst die Bahre nicht tragen.

And the Jihudoyee said to him who had been healed, This is the shabath: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

11 Er aber antwortete ihnen: der mich gesund gemacht hat, der hat zu mir gesagt: nimm deine Bahre und wandle.

But he answered and said to them, He who made me whole, he said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

12 Fragten sie ihn: wer ist der Mensch, der zu dir gesagt hat: nimm sie und wandle?

And they said to him, What man is this who told thee to take up thy bed, and walk?

13 Der Geheilte aber wußte nicht, wer es sei; denn Jesus war in der Menge, die auf dem Platz war, entwichen.

But he who had been healed knew not who it was; for Jeshu had retired among the great multitude which was in that place.

14 Nach diesem findet ihn Jesus im Tempel und sagte zu ihm: siehe, du bist gesund geworden; sündige nicht mehr, damit dir nicht Schlimmeres widerfahre.

After a time Jeshu found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art healed: sin not again, lest there be to thee that which is worse than the first.

15 Der Mensch gieng weg und sagte den Juden, daß es Jesus sei, der ihn gesund gemacht.

And that man went away, and told the Jihudoyee, that it was Jeshu who had healed him.

16 Und darum verfolgten die Juden Jesus, weil er das am Sabbat that.

On account of this the Jihudoyee persecuted Jeshu, and sought to kill him, because these things he had done on the shabath.

17 Er aber antwortete ihnen: mein Vater wirkt bis jetzt, so wirke auch ich.

But he, Jeshu, said to them, My Father until now worketh, I also work.

18 Darum suchten die Juden um so mehr ihn zu töten, weil er nicht nur den Sabbat brach, sondern auch Gott seinen eigenen Vater nannte, sich selbst Gott gleichstellend.

But on this account the more sought the Jihudoyee to kill him, not only because he had loosed the shabath, but also that of Aloha he had said that he was his Father, and had made himself equal with Aloha.

19 Da antwortete Jesus und sagte zu ihnen: wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: es kann der Sohn von sich selbst nichts thun, außer er sehe den Vater etwas thun; denn was jener thut, das thut auch der Sohn ähnlich.

BUT Jeshu answered and said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, The Son cannot do any thing from the will of himself, but that which he seeth the Father do.

20 Denn der Vater liebt den Sohn und zeigt ihm alles, was er selbst thut, und wird ihm noch größere Werke als diese zeigen, auf daß ihr euch verwundert.

For those which the Father doeth, these also the Son likewise doeth. For the Father loveth the Son, and every thing that he doeth he showeth him; and greater than these works he showeth him, that you may wonder.

21 Denn wie der Vater die Toten aufweckt und lebendig macht, so macht auch der Sohn lebendig, welche er will.

For as the Father raiseth the dead, and quickeneth, so also the Son quickeneth those whom he willeth.

22 Denn der Vater richtet sogar niemand, sondern er hat das Gericht ganz an den Sohn übergeben, damit alle den Sohn ehren, sowie sie den Vater ehren.

For the Father judgeth no man, but all judgment he hath given to the Son;

23 Wer den Sohn nicht ehrt, ehrt den Vater nicht, der ihn gesandt hat.

that all men should honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father who sent him.

24 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch, wer mein Wort hört und glaubt dem, der mich gesandt hat, der hat ewiges Leben und kommt nicht ins Gericht, sondern er ist vom Tode ins Leben gelangt. (aiōnios g166)

Amen, amen, I say to you, He who heareth my word and believeth on him who sent me, hath the life that is eternal, and into condemnation he cometh not, but hath passed from death unto life. (aiōnios g166)

25 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch, es kommt eine Stunde, und sie ist jetzt da, wo die Toten werden die Stimme des Sohnes Gottes hören, und die sie gehört, werden leben.

Amen, amen, I say to you, That the hour cometh and also now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Aloha; and they who hear shall live

26 Denn wie der Vater Leben hat in sich selbst, so hat er auch dem Sohne verliehen Leben zu haben in sich selbst,

For as the Father hath life in his person, so hath he given also to the Son to have life in his person,

27 und hat ihm Vollmacht gegeben, Gericht zu halten, weil er Menschensohn ist.

and hath empowered him also to execute judgment. Because he is the Son of man,

28 Wundert euch darüber nicht; denn es kommt eine Stunde, in welcher alle die in den Gräbern werden seine Stimme hören, und werden hervorgehen,

marvel not at this; for the hour cometh when all they who are in the sepulchres shall hear his voice,

29 die Gutes gethan haben, zur Auferstehung des Lebens, die Uebles gethan haben, zur Auferstehung des Gerichtes.

and shall come forth; they who have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they who have done evil unto the resurrection of condemnation.

30 Ich kann von mir selbst nichts thun; wie ich höre, so richte ich und mein Gericht ist gerecht, weil ich nicht auf meinen Willen ausgehe, sondern auf den Willen dessen, der mich gesandt hat.

I CANNOT of the will of myself do any thing; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I seek not my will, but the will of Him who sent me.

31 Wenn ich von mir selbst zeuge, so ist mein Zeugnis nicht wahr.

If I should witness concerning myself, my testimony would not be (regarded as) truth:

32 Ein anderer ist's, der von mir zeugt, und ich weiß, daß das Zeugnis wahr ist, das er von mir zeugt.

there is another who witnesseth of me, and I know that true is his testimony which he hath witnessed of me.

33 Ihr habt zu Johannes gesandt und er hat für die Wahrheit gezeugt.

You sent to Juchanon, and he witnessed of the truth.

34 Doch ich nehme nicht von einem Menschen Zeugnis; aber ich rede davon, damit ihr gerettet werdet.

But I do not from man (only) receive testimony. But these (things) speak I that you may be saved.

35 Er war das brennende scheinende Licht, ihr aber wolltet euch für den Augenblick vergnügen in seinem Scheine.

He was a lamp that burneth and shineth, and you were willing to glory for the hour in his light.

36 Ich aber habe ein Zeugnis, größer als Johannes; denn die Werke, die mir der Vater gegeben hat, daß ich sie vollende, eben die Werke, die ich thue, zeugen von mir, daß der Vater mich gesandt.

But I have a testimony which is greater than that of Juchanon; for the works that the Father hath given me to accomplish, these works that I do testify of me that the Father hath sent me.

37 Und der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, der hat auch von mir gezeugt. Ihr habt weder seine Stimme gehört, noch seine Gestalt gesehen.

And the Father who hath sent me, he testifieth of me: but his voice you have never heard, nor his appearance seen.

38 Und ihr habt sein Wort nicht in euch wohnen, weil ihr dem, den er gesandt hat, nicht glaubet.

And his word abideth not in you, because in Him whom he hath sent you do not believe.

39 Ihr forschet in den Schriften, da ihr glaubet in denselben ewiges Leben zu haben, und sie sind es, die von mir zeugen; (aiōnios g166)

Investigate the scriptures; for in them you think you have the life that is eternal, and they testify of me. (aiōnios g166)

40 und ihr wollt nicht zu mir kommen, damit ihr Leben habet?

And you will not come to me that the life that is eternal you might have.

41 Ich nehme nicht Ruhm von Menschen,

Glory from the sons of men I receive not.

42 aber bei euch habe ich erkannt, daß ihr die Liebe Gottes nicht in euch habet.

But I know you, that the love of Aloha is not in you.

43 Ich bin im Namen meines Vaters gekommen, und ihr nehmet mich nicht an. Wenn ein anderer kommt in seinem eigenen Namen, den werdet ihr annehmen.

I have come in the name of my Father, and you have not received me.

44 Wie könnet ihr glauben, die ihr Ruhm von einander nehmet, und den Ruhm von dem alleinigen Gott suchet ihr nicht?

If another should come in his own name, him you would receive. How can you believe, who glory one from another are receiving, and the glory which is from one, Aloha, you seek not?

45 Meinet nicht, daß ich euch bei dem Vater verklagen werde. Es ist ein Verkläger für euch da, Moses, auf den ihr gehofft habt.

How think you that I will accuse you before the Father? There is one who accuseth you, Musha himself, in whom you hope.

46 Denn wenn ihr Moses glaubtet, so würdet ihr mir glauben; denn von mir hat er geschrieben.

For if in Musha you had believed, you would also have believed in me; for Musha of me hath written.

47 Wenn ihr aber seinen Schriften nicht glaubet, wie werdet ihr meinen Worten glauben?

But if his writings you believe not, how my words will you believe?
