Jeremia 45

1 Das Wort, welches der Prophet Jeremia zu Baruch, dem Sohne Nerijas, sprach, als er im vierten Jahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, diese Reden, so wie sie ihm Jeremia vorsagte, in ein Buch aufschrieb, also lautend:

This is the word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch son of Neriah when he wrote these words on a scroll at the dictation of Jeremiah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah:

2 So spricht Jahwe, der Gott Israels, über dich, Baruch: Du sprachst:

“This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:

3 “O weh' mir, denn Jahwe fügt noch Kummer zu meinem Schmerze! Ich bin matt vom Seufzen und finde keine Ruhe!”

You have said, ‘Woe is me because the LORD has added sorrow to my pain! I am worn out with groaning and have found no rest.’”

4 Sprich also zu ihm: So spricht Jahwe: Fürwahr, was ich aufgebaut habe, reiße ich nieder, und was ich eingepflanzt habe, reiße ich aus,

Thus Jeremiah was to say to Baruch: “This is what the LORD says: Throughout the land I will demolish what I have built and uproot what I have planted.

5 und da verlangst du für dich so Großes? Verlange das nicht! Denn ich bringe nunmehr Unheil über alles Fleisch, ist der Spruch Jahwes; dir aber will ich dein Leben zur Beute geben an allen Orten, wohin du dich begeben wirst.

But as for you, do you seek great things for yourself? Stop seeking! For I will bring disaster on every living creature, declares the LORD, but wherever you go, I will grant your life as a spoil of war.”
