Jeremia 28

1 In jenem Jahre aber - im Anfange der Regierung Zedekias, des Königs von Juda, im vierten Jahre, im fünften Monate, - sprach zu mir der Prophet Hananja, der Sohn Azurs aus Gibeon, im Tempel Jahwes in Gegenwart der Priester und des ganzen Volks also:

And it came about in that year, when Zedekiah first became king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah, the son of Azzur the prophet, who came from Gibeon, said to Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, before the priests and all the people,

2 So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Ich zerbreche das Joch des Königs von Babel!

These are the words of the Lord of armies, the God of Israel: By me the yoke of the king of Babylon has been broken.

3 In noch zwei Jahren werde ich alle Geräte des Tempels Jahwes, die Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, von diesem Orte weggenommen und nach Babel gebracht hat, an diesen Ort zurückbringen.

In the space of two years I will send back into this place all the vessels of the Lord's house which Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, took away from this place to Babylon:

4 Auch Jechonja, den Sohn Jojakims, den König von Juda, und alle Gefangenen Judas, die nach Babel gekommen sind, werde ich an diesen Ort zurückbringen - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, denn ich will das Joch des Königs von Babel zerbrechen!

And I will let Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, come back to this place, with all the prisoners of Judah who went to Babylon, says the Lord: for I will have the yoke of the king of Babylon broken.

5 Da sprach der Prophet Jeremia zu dem Propheten Hananja in Gegenwart der Priester und in Gegenwart alles Volks, das im Tempel Jahwes stand,

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, before the priests and all the people who had come into the house of the Lord,

6 und es sprach der Prophet Jeremia: So sei es! Jahwe thue also! Jahwe lasse deine Worte, die du geweissagt hast, in Erfüllung gehen, indem er die Geräte des Tempels Jahwes und die sämtlichen Gefangenen aus Babel an diesen Ort zurückbringt.

The prophet Jeremiah said, So be it: may the Lord do so: may the Lord give effect to the words which you have said, and let the vessels of the Lord's house, and all the people who have been taken away, come back from Babylon to this place.

7 Jedoch höre noch dieses Wort, das ich vor dir und allem Volke laut ausspreche:

But still, give ear to this word which I am saying to you and to all the people:

8 Die Propheten, die vor mir und vor dir von uralters her aufgetreten sind, die weissagten über mächtige Länder und über gewaltige Königreiche von Krieg und von Unheil und von Pest;

The prophets, who were before me and before you, from early times gave word to a number of countries and great kingdoms about war and destruction and disease.

9 der Prophet jedoch, der von Heil weissagt, - durch das Eintreffen des Wortes des Propheten weist sich der Prophet aus, den Jahwe wirklich gesandt hat!

The prophet whose words are of peace, when his words come true, will be seen to be a prophet whom the Lord has sent.

10 Da nahm der Prophet Hananja das Jochholz vom Halse des Propheten Jeremia und zerbrach es;

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and it was broken by his hands.

11 dann sprach Hananja in Gegenwart des ganzen Volkes also: So spricht Jahwe: Ebenso will ich in noch zwei Jahren das Joch Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, auf dem Hals aller Völker zerbrechen! Der Prophet Jeremia aber ging seines Wegs.

And before all the people Hananiah said, The Lord has said, Even so will I let the yoke of the king of Babylon be broken off the necks of all the nations in the space of two years. Then the prophet Jeremiah went away.

12 Es erging aber das Wort Jahwes an Jeremia, nachdem der Prophet Hananja das Jochholz auf dem Halse des Propheten Jeremia zerbrochen hatte, folgendermaßen:

Then after the yoke had been broken off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah by Hananiah the prophet, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

13 Gehe hin und sprich zu Hananja also: So spricht Jahwe: Ein Joch von Holz hast du zerbrochen, aber ich will an seiner Stelle ein Joch von Eisen machen!

Go and say to Hananiah, This is what the Lord has said: Yokes of wood have been broken by you, but in their place I will make yokes of iron.

14 Denn so spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Ein Joch von Eisen lege ich auf den Hals aller dieser Völker, daß sie Nebukadnezar, dem Könige von Babel, dienstbar werden und ihm dienen, ja sogar die Tiere des Feldes übergebe ich ihm.

For the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said: I have put a yoke of iron on the necks of all these nations, making them servants to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon; and they are to be his servants: and in addition I have given him the beasts of the field.

15 Da sprach der Prophet Jeremia zum Propheten Hananja: Höre einmal, Hananja! Jahwe hat dich nicht gesandt, und doch hast du dieses Volk verleitet, sich auf Lügen zu verlassen!

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, Give ear, now, Hananiah; the Lord has not sent you; but you are making this people put their faith in what is false.

16 Darum spricht Jahwe also: Fürwahr, ich will dich vom Erdboden hinwegschaffen; dieses Jahr noch sollst du sterben, denn du hast Auflehnung wider Jahwe gepredigt!

For this reason the Lord has said, See, I will send you away from off the face of the earth: this year death will overtake you, because you have said words against the Lord.

17 Und der Prophet Hananja starb in selbigem Jahre im siebenten Monate.

So death came to Hananiah the prophet the same year, in the seventh month.
