Jesaja 34
1 Herbei, ihr Völker, zu hören, und gebt acht, ihr Nationen! Es höre die Erde und was sie füllt, der Erdkreis und alles, was ihm entsproßt!
Neiye, ye hethene men, and here; and ye puplis, perseyue; the erthe, and the fulnesse therof, the world, and al buriownyng therof, here ye.
2 Denn ergrimmt ist Jahwe über alle Völker und zornig über all' ihr Heer; er hat sie mit dem Banne belegt, hat sie der Schlachtung preisgegeben,
For whi indignacioun of the Lord is on alle folkis, and strong veniaunce on al the chyualrie of hem; he killide hem, and yaf hem in to sleyng.
3 daß ihre Erschlagenen hingeworfen daliegen und der Gestank von ihren Leichen aufsteigen und die Berge von ihrem Blute zerfließen sollen.
The slayn men of hem schulen be cast forth, and stynk schal stie of the careyns of hem; hillis schulen flete of the blood of hem.
4 Das ganze Himmelsheer zergeht, wie ein Buch rollt sich der Himmel zusammen, und all sein Heer welkt ab, wie das Laub am Weinstock verwelkt, wie welke Blätter am Feigenbaum.
And al the chyualrie of heuenys schal faile, and heuenys schulen be foldid togidere as a book, and al the knyythod of tho schal flete doun, as the leef of a vyner and of a fige tre fallith doun.
5 Denn berauscht hat sich im Himmel mein Schwert; nun fährt es herab auf Edom und das von mir gebannte Volk zum Gericht.
For my swerd is fillid in heuene; lo! it schal come doun on Ydumee, and on the puple of my sleyng, to doom.
6 Ein Schwert hat Jahwe, das trieft von Blut, das strotzt vom Fett, vom Blute der Lämmer und Böcke, vom Nierenfette der Widder. Denn Jahwe hält ein Opfer in Bozra und ein großes Schlachten im Lande Edom.
The swerd of the Lord is fillid of blood, it is maad fat of the ynner fatnesse of the blood of lambren and of buckis of geet, of the blood of rammes ful of merow; for whi the slayn sacrifice of the Lord is in Bosra, and greet sleyng is in the lond of Edom.
7 Wildochsen werden mit jenen niedersinken und Farren mit den Stieren. Ihr Land wird sich berauschen von Blut, und ihr Boden von Fett strotzen.
And vnycornes schulen go doun with hem, and bolis with hem that ben myyti; the lond of hem schal be fillid with blood, and the erthe of hem with ynnere fatnesse of fatte beestis;
8 Denn ein Tag der Rache kommt von Jahwe, ein Jahr der Vergeltung für die Sache Zions.
for it is a dai of veniaunce of the Lord, a yeer of yeldyng of the dom of Sion.
9 Edoms Bäche werden sich in Pech verwandeln, und sein Erdreich in Schwefel, daß sein Land zu brennendem Peche wird.
And the strondis therof schulen be turned in to pitche, and the erthe therof in to brymstoon; and the lond therof schal be in to brennyng pitch, niyt and dai.
10 Weder nachts noch bei Tage wird es verlöschen, immerfort wird sein Qualm aufsteigen; von Geschlecht zu Geschlechte wird es wüste liegen, auf ewige Zeiten wird es niemand durchwandern.
It schal not be quenchid withouten ende, the smoke therof schal stie fro generacioun in to generacioun, and it schal be desolat in to worldis of worldis; noon schal passe therbi.
11 Pelikan und Rohrdommel werden es in Besitz nehmen, Uhu und Rabe werden darin wohnen. Und Jahwe wird darüber ausspannen die Meßschnur der Öde und das Senkblei der Leere.
And onocrotalus, and an irchoun schulen welde it; and a capret, and a crowe schulen dwelle therynne; and a mesure schal be stretchid forth theronne, that it be dryuun to nouyt, and an hangynge plomet in to desolacyoun.
12 Sein Adel - niemand ruft mehr das Königtum aus, und alle sein Führer werden zu nichte.
The noble men therof schulen not be there; rathere thei schulen clepe the kyng in to help, and alle the princes therof schulen be in to nouyt.
13 In seinen Palästen werden Dornen aufschießen, Nesseln und Disteln in seinen Festungen; sie werden zur Wohnung von Schakalen, zu einem Gehege für Strauße,
And thornes and nettlis schulen growe in the housis therof, and a tasil in the strengthis therof; and it schal be the couche of dragouns, and the lesewe of ostrichis.
14 und Wildkatzen werden Schakalen begegnen und Bocksgeister einander treffen. Nur die Lilith wird dort rasten und eine Ruhestätte für sich finden.

15 Dort nistet und heckt die Pfeilschlange, legt Eier und brütet in ihrem Schatten, nur Weihen sammeln sich dort, eine zur andern.
Lamya schal ligge there, and foond rest there to hir silf; there an irchoun hadde dichis, and nurschide out whelpis, and diggide aboute, and fostride in the schadewe therof; there kitis weren gaderid togidere, oon to another.
16 Forscht in der Schrift Jahwes und lest nach: Keines von ihnen ist ausgeblieben, keines vermißt das andere! Denn sein Mund war es, der es geboten, und sein Geist, der sie versammelt hat.
Seke ye diligentli in the book of the Lord, and rede ye; oon of tho thingis failide not, oon souyte not another; for he comaundide that thing, that goith forth of my mouth, and his spirit he gaderide tho togidere.
17 Er selbst hat ihnen das Los geworfen und seine Hand hat das Land mit der Meßschnur unter sie verteilt. Auf immer werden sie es besitzen, von Geschlecht zu Geschlechte werden sie darin wohnen.
And he sente to hem eritage, and his hond departide it in mesure; til in to withouten ende tho schulen welde that lond, in generacioun and in to generacioun tho schulen dwelle ther ynne.
