Jesaja 26
1 An jenem Tage wird man im Lande Juda dieses Lied singen: Wir haben eine feste Burg! Seinen Beistand macht er zu Mauern und Bollwerk.
In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Iudah, We haue a strong citie: saluation shall God set for walles and bulwarkes.
2 Öffnet Thore, daß hineinziehe ein frommes, die Treue wahrendes Volk!
Open ye the gates that the righteous nation, which keepeth the trueth, may enter in.
3 Die Gesinnung in uns ist fest, du wirst dauerndes Heil gewähren; denn auf dich setzt sie ihr Vertrauen.
By an assured purpose wilt thou preserue perfite peace, because they trusted in thee.
4 Vertraut immerdar auf Jahwe! Denn Jah, Jahwe ist ein ewiger Fels.
Trust in the Lord for euer: for in the Lord God is strength for euermore.
5 Denn er hat, die in der Höhe wohnten, niedergestreckt, die hochragende Stadt, indem er sie niederwarf, niederwarf bis zum Boden, sie hinabstieß bis in den Staub.
For hee will bring downe them that dwell on hie: the hie citie he will abase: euen vnto the ground wil he cast it downe, and bring it vnto dust.
6 Füße zertreten sie, die Füße der Elenden, die Tritte der Geringen!
The foote shall treade it downe, euen the feete of the poore, and the steppes of the needie.
7 Der Pfad der Rechtschaffenen läuft in der Ebene; eben ist die Bahn der Rechtschaffenen, die du bereitest.
The way of the iust is righteousnesse: thou wilt make equall the righteous path of the iust.
8 Ja, den Pfad deiner Gerichte, Jahwe, dich haben wir erhofft; nach deinem Namen und deinem Preise verlangte uns!
Also we, O Lord, haue waited for thee in the way of thy iudgemets: the desire of our soule is to thy Name, and to the remembrance of thee.
9 Innig verlangte ich nach dir in der Nacht, ja herzlich ersehnte ich dich in meiner Brust! Denn sobald deine Gerichte die Erde treffen, lernen die Bewohner des Erdkreises das rechte Verhalten.
With my soule haue I desired thee in the night, and with my spirit within mee will I seeke thee in the morning: for seeing thy iudgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learne righteousnesse.
10 Widerfährt den Gottlosen Nachsicht, so lernen sie nicht das rechte Verhalten, so freveln sie in dem Lande, wo es redlich zu handeln gilt, und sehen nicht auf die Hoheit Jahwes.
Let mercie bee shewed to the wicked, yet hee will not learne righteousnesse: in the land of vprightnesse will he do wickedly, and will not beholde the maiestie of the Lord.
11 Jahwe, hoch erhoben war deine Hand; sie sahen es nicht. Sie sollen es sehen und zu Schanden werden! Der Eifer für das Volk und das Feuer, das deinen Feinden droht, soll sie verzehren!
O Lord, they will not beholde thine hie hande: but they shall see it, and bee confounded with the zeale of the people, and the fire of thine enemies shall deuoure them.
12 Jahwe, du wirst uns Heil verschaffen, denn du hast all' unser übriges Thun für uns gewirkt.
Lord, vnto vs thou wilt ordeine peace: for thou also hast wrought all our workes for vs.
13 Jahwe, unser Gott, andere Herren als du haben über uns geherrscht. Nur dich allein erkennen wir an, wir preisen deinen Namen!
O Lord our God, other lords beside thee, haue ruled vs, but we will remember thee onely, and thy Name.
14 Die Toten werde nicht lebendig, die Schatten stehen nicht auf. Darum hast du sie heimgesucht und hast sie vertilgt und jedes Gedenken an sie vernichtet.
The dead shall not liue, neither shall the dead arise, because thou hast visited and scattered them, and destroyed all their memorie.
15 Du hast das Volk vermehrt, Jahwe, das Volk vermehrt, hast dich verherrlicht, hast alle Grenzen des Landes erweitert.
Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord: thou hast increased the nation: thou art made glorious: thou hast enlarged all the coastes of the earth.
16 Jahwe, in der Not suchten sie dich auf; sie ergossen leises Gebet, wenn deine Züchtigung sie traf.
Lord, in trouble haue they visited thee: they powred out a prayer when thy chastening was vpon them.
17 Wie eine Schwangere, die nahe daran ist zu gebären, sich windet und schreit in ihren Wehen, so waren wir um deinetwillen, Jahwe.
Like as a woman with childe, that draweth neere to the trauaile, is in sorow, and cryeth in her paines, so haue we bene in thy sight, O Lord.
18 Wir gingen schwanger, wir wanden uns; als wir geboren hatten, hatten wir Wind geboren. Volle Hilfe schafften wir nicht im Lande, und Weltbewohner kamen nicht ans Licht.
We haue coceiued, we haue borne in paine, as though we should haue brought forth winde: there was no helpe in the earth, neither did the inhabitants of the world fall.
19 Möchten deine Toten wieder lebendig werden, möchten meine Leichen auferstehen! Erwacht und jauchzt, die ihr im Staube liegt, denn ein Tau des Lichts ist dein Tau, und die Erde wird die Schatten wieder von sich geben.
Thy dead men shall liue: euen with my body shall they rise. Awake, and sing, ye that dwel in dust: for thy dewe is as the dew of herbes, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
20 Wohlan, mein Volk, geh in deine Kammern und schließe deine Thüre hinter dir zu! Verbirg dich einen kleinen Augenblick, bis der Grimm vorübergeht.
Come, my people: enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doores after thee: hide thy selfe for a very litle while, vntill the indignation passe ouer.
21 Denn Jahwe zieht aus von seinem Ort, um die Missethaten der Erdbewohner an ihnen heimzusuchen. Und die Erde wird das von ihr eingesogene Blut enthüllen und nicht länger die auf ihr Ermordeten bedecken.
For lo, the Lord commeth out of his place, to visite the iniquitie of the inhabitants of the earth vpon them: and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more hide her slaine.
