Hesekiel 7
1 Und es erging das Wort Jahwes an mich folgendermaßen:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
2 Du aber, Menschensohn, sprich: So spricht der Herr Jahwe zum Land Israel: Ein Ende kommt, es kommt das Ende über die vier Enden des Landes.
Thou therefore O son of man. Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, To the so of Israel, there is an end, - The end hath come upon the four skirts of the land.
3 Jetzt kommt das Ende über dich, und ich will meinen Zorn wider dich entsenden und will dich richten nach deinem Wandel und die Strafe für alle deine Greuel über dich kommen lassen.
Now is the end upon thee, Therefore will I send mine anger against thee, And judge thee according to thy ways, - And lay upon thee all thine abominations;
4 Und mein Auge soll nicht mitleidig auf dich blicken, noch werde ich Schonung üben, sondern werde die Strafe für deinen Wandel über dich kommen lassen, und deine Greuel werden mitten unter dir sein; und so sollt ihr erkennen, daß ich Jahwe bin.
And mine eye shall not shield thee. Neither will I pity, —. For thy ways—upon thee, will I lay. And thine abominations in thy midst, shall be found, So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.
5 So spricht der Herr Jahwe: Ein Unheil, fürwahr ein Unheil kommt!
Thus saith My Lord Yahweh: A calamity, a sole calamity, lo! it hath come.
6 Ein Ende kommt, es kommt das Ende, es regt sich auf dich zu, sieh', da kommt es!
An end hath come, Come hath the end It hath roused itself up against thee, — Lo! it hath come.
7 Es kommt das Schicksal über dich, Bewohner des Landes; es kommt die Zeit, nahe ist der Tag, ein Tag der Bestürzung und nicht des fröhlichen Jauchzens auf den Bergen.
The circle hath come round unto thee. O inhabitant of the land, - The time, hath come, The day of consternation, hath drawn near. And not the joyful shout of the mountains.
8 Nun will ich bald meinen Grimm über dich ausschütten und meinen Zorn an dir erschöpfen und will dich richten nach deinem Wandel und die Strafe für alle deine Greuel über dich bringen.
Now shortly, will I pour out mine indignation upon thee, And will bring to an end mine anger against thee, And will judge thee according to thy ways, - And will lay upon thee all thine abominations.
9 Und mein Auge soll nicht mitleidig blicken, noch werde ich Schonung üben; deinem Wandel gemäß werde ich's über dich kommen lassen, und deine Greuel werden mitten unter dir sein; und so sollt ihr erkennen, daß ich, Jahwe, es bin, der da schlägt.
And mine eye shall not shield thee Neither will I have pity, — According to thy ways, unto thee will I render, And thine abominations, in thy midst shall be found, So shall ye know that I, Yahweh am smiting.
10 Sieh', da ist der Tag; sieh', da kommt es: es geht hervor die Krone, es blüht das Scepter, es sproßt der Übermut!
Lo! the day, Lo! it hath come, The circle, hath gone forth, The sceptre, hath blossomed, Insolence hath sprouted:
11 Die Gewaltthat erhebt sich als Zuchtrute des Unrechts; da bleibt nichts übrig von ihnen und von ihrer Pracht, und niemand beklagt sie.
Violence hath risen up as a sceptre of lawlessness, —There are none of them And none of their multitude And none of their throngs And no lamentation over them.
12 Es kommt die Zeit, es naht der Tag: der Käufer freue sich nicht, und der Verkäufer traure nicht; denn Zorn wird entbrennen über all ihr Gepränge.
The time hath come. The day hath arrived, The buyer, let him not rejoice, and The seller, let him not mourn, — For indignation, is against all her multitude.
13 Denn der Verkäufer wird doch nicht wieder zu dem Verkauften gelangen, und der Käufer wird bei seinen Lebzeiten nicht das Verkaufte behalten; denn ein Gesicht ergeht wider all ihr Vermögen, und ein jeder wird durch seine Verschuldung dahingerafft.
For the seller, unto that which is to be sold, shall not return, though yet among the living, were their life, for the vision is against all her multitude. He shall not return, And, no man, by his punishment, shall strengthen, his life.
14 Man stößt ins Horn und rüstet alles zu, aber niemand zieht in den Kampf; denn mein Zorn ist entbrannt über all ihr Gepränge.
They have blown the trumpet, even to make All ready, Yet is there none going to the battle; For mine indignation is against all her multitude.
15 Das Schwert draußen und die Pest und der Hunger drinnen; wer auf dem Feld ist, wird durch das Schwert umkommen, und wer in der Stadt ist, den wird Hunger und Pest verzehren.
The sword without, and Pestilence and famine within, — He that is in the field by the sword, shall die, and He that is in the city famine or pestilence shall devour him;
16 Und wenn etliche von ihnen entrinnen, so werden sie auf den Bergen sein wie die Tauben der Schluchten, die insgesamt girren, - ein jeder ob der Strafe für seine Verschuldung.
While they who escape of them shall escape and become on the mountains as the doves of the valleys, all of them cooing, —each one in his punishment.
17 Alle Hände werden schlaff herabsinken, und alle Kniee wie zu Wasser zerfließen.
All hands shall be unnerved; and All knees shall be weak as water,
18 Und sie werden Trauergewänder anlegen, und Entsetzen wird sie umhüllen; auf allen Angesichtern wird Beschämung sein, und auf allen ihren Häuptern eine Glatze.
Therefore shall they gird themselves with sackcloth, And shuddering shall cover them, -And in all faces, shall be paleness, And in all their heads, baldness.
19 Ihr Silber werden sie auf die Straßen werfen, und ihr Gold wird ihnen als Unflat gelten, denn ihr Silber und ihr Gold kann sie nicht retten am Tage des Ingrimms Jahwes; ihre Gier werden sie nicht damit ersättigen und ihren Bauch nicht damit füllen, denn es ward ihnen Anstoß zur Verschuldung.
Their silver into the streets, shall they cast and Their gold for throwing away, shall serve, Their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Yahweh, Their craving, shall they not satisfy, and Their belly, shall they not fill, For a stumbling-block, hath their iniquity become.
20 Und seinen prachtvollen Schmuck machte das Volk zu einem Gegenstande der Überhebung, und sie fertigten daraus ihre greulichen Bilder, ihre Scheusale; darum mache ich's für sie zu Unflat.
When, the beauty of his own ornament, he had, in majesty, placed, Then, the images, of their abominations Their detestable things, Made they therein, — For this cause have I delivered it up to them for removal;
21 Und ich will es den Fremden zur Plünderung preisgeben und den Gottlosesten auf Erden zum Raube, damit sie es entweihen.
Yea I will deliver it Into the hand of foreigners for a prey, And to the lawless ones of the earth for a spoil, And they will profane it;
22 Und ich will mein Angesicht von ihnen abwenden, und so soll man mein Kleinod entweihen, und Räuber sollen in dasselbe eindringen und es entweihen.
And I will turn away my face from them, And they will profane my cherished place, —Yea there will enter it violent men Who will profane it.
23 Denn das Land ist voll von Blutschuld und die Stadt voll Gewaltthat.
Prepare thou a chain, — For, the land, is full of the crime of bloodshed, And, the city, is full of violence.
24 Und so werde ich die schlimmsten der Heidenvölker herbeibringen; die sollen ihre Häuser in Besitz nehmen, und ich will ein Ende machen mit ihrer stolzen Macht, und ihre Heiligtümer sollen entweiht werden.
So then I will bring in the wicked ones of the nations, And they shall take possession of their houses, —And I will cause to cease the pomp of the strong ones, And their holy places shall be profaned.
25 Angst kommt, und sie werden Rettung suchen, aber es giebt keine:
Destruction, hath entered, - And they shall seek welfare and there be none.
26 Unfall über Unfall kommt, und Schreckenskunde über Schreckenskunde giebt es. Da werden sie vergeblich ein Gesicht begehren von einem Propheten, und den Priestern wird die Weisung abhanden gekommen sein und der Rat der Vornehmen.
Disaster upon disaster, shall come, And report after report shall arise, Therefore shall they seek a vision from prophet, And law shall perish from priest. And counsel from elders.
27 Der König wird trauern, und der Fürst mit Entsetzen bekleidet sein, und die Hände des Landvolks werden kraftlos herabsinken. Nach ihrem Wandel werde ich sie behandeln und nach ihren Rechten sie richten, und sie sollen erkennen, daß ich Jahwe bin.
The king, shall mourn and, The chief, shall clothe himself with astonishment, and, the hands of the people of the land, shall be wrung in anguish, — After their own way, will I deal with them and, With their own sentences, will I sentence them, And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.
