Ester 4

1 Als aber Mardachai alles erfahren hatte, was geschehen war, da zerriß Mardachai seine Kleider, that ein härenes Gewand an und Asche aufs Haupt, ging hinaus mitten in die Stadt und wehklagte laut und bitterlich.

and Mordecai to know [obj] all which to make: do and to tear Mordecai [obj] garment his and to clothe sackcloth and ashes and to come out: come in/on/with midst [the] city and to cry out outcry great: large and bitter

2 So kam es bis vor das Thor des Königs; denn zum Thore des Königs darf man nicht in einem härenen Gewand hineingehen.

and to come (in): come till to/for face: before gate [the] king for nothing to/for to come (in): come to(wards) gate [the] king in/on/with clothing sackcloth

3 Und in jeder einzelnen Provinz, wo nur der Erlaß des Königs und sein Gesetz hingelangte, war große Trauer bei den Juden und Fasten und Weinen und Klagen: die meisten breiteten sich ein härenes Gewand und Asche unter.

and in/on/with all province and province place which word [the] king and law his to touch mourning great: large to/for Jew and fast and weeping and mourning sackcloth and ashes to lay to/for many

4 Als nun die Dienerinnen Esthers und ihre Kämmerer kamen und es ihr mitteilten, da wurde die Königin von tiefem heftigen Schmerz ergriffen. Und sie sandte Kleider, damit man sie Mardachai anziehe, und er das härene Gewand wieder ablege; aber er nahm sie nicht an.

(and to come (in): come *Q(k)*) maiden Esther and eunuch her and to tell to/for her and to twist: tremble [the] queen much and to send: depart garment to/for to clothe [obj] Mordecai and to/for to turn aside: remove sackcloth his from upon him and not to receive

5 Da berief Esther den Hathach, einen von den Kämmerern des Königs, die er zu ihrem Dienst beordert hatte, und gab ihm den Auftrag an Mardachai, von diesem zu erkunden, was dies bedeute und warum es geschehe.

and to call: call to Esther to/for Hathach from eunuch [the] king which to stand: appoint to/for face: before her and to command him upon Mordecai to/for to know what? this and upon what? this

6 Da ging Hathach zu Mardachai hinaus auf den Stadtplatz, der vor dem Thore des Königs lag.

and to come out: come Hathach to(wards) Mordecai to(wards) street/plaza [the] city which to/for face: before gate [the] king

7 Mardachai aber teilte ihm alles mit, was ihm begegnet war, und den Betrag an Silber, den Haman für die Schatzkammer des Königs darzuwägen versprochen hatte, für die Juden, damit man sie umbringe.

and to tell to/for him Mordecai [obj] all which to meet him and [obj] declaration [the] silver: money which to say Haman to/for to weigh upon treasury [the] king (in/on/with Jew *Q(k)*) to/for to perish them

8 Dazu gab er ihm auch den Wortlaut der Gesetzesvorschrift, die man zu Susa behufs ihrer Vernichtung erlassen hatte, damit er ihn Esther zeige und ihr Mitteilung mache und sie beauftrage, zum Könige hineinzugehen, um ihn um Gnade anzuflehen und für ihr Volk bei ihm Fürbitte zu thun.

9 Und Hathach kam und teilte Esther die Worte Mardachais mit.

and to come (in): come Hathach and to tell to/for Esther [obj] word: speaking Mordecai

10 Esther jedoch gab Hathach nochmals mündlichen Auftrag an Mardachai:

and to say Esther to/for Hathach and to command him to(wards) Mordecai

11 Alle Diener des Königs und die Leute in den Provinzen des Königs wissen, daß für jedermann, es sei Mann oder Weib, der sich zum König in den inneren Vorhof hineinbegiebt, ohne gerufen zu sein, ein und dasselbe Gesetz gilt, nämlich, daß man ihn tötet, mit einziger Ausnahme dessen, dem der König sein goldenes Scepter entgegenstreckt, damit er am Leben bleibe. ich aber bin seit nunmehr dreißig Tagen nicht mehr berufen worden, zum Könige zu kommen.

all servant/slave [the] king and people province [the] king to know which all man and woman which to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king to(wards) [the] court [the] inner which not to call: call to one law his to/for to die to/for alone from whence to extend to/for him [the] king [obj] scepter [the] gold and to live and I not (to call: call to *L(abh)*) to/for to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king this thirty day

12 Als nun Mardachai die Worte Esthers mitgeteilt worden waren,

and to tell to/for Mordecai [obj] word: speaking Esther

13 da ließ Mardachai der Esther wieder sagen: Wähne nicht, daß du allein von allen Juden entrinnen werdest, weil du im Palaste des Königs bist.

and to say Mordecai to/for to return: reply to(wards) Esther not to resemble in/on/with soul: myself your to/for to escape house: home [the] king from all [the] Jew

14 denn wenn du wirklich zu dieser Zeit stille schweigen solltest, so wird den Juden Befreiung und Rettung von einer anderen Seite her erstehen; du aber wirst samt deiner Familie umkommen. vielleicht bist du nur um der gegenwärtigen Zeit willen zum Königtume gelangt!

that if: except if: except be quiet be quiet in/on/with time [the] this space and deliverance to stand: rise to/for Jew from place another and you(f. s.) and house: household father your to perish and who? to know if to/for time like/as this to touch to/for royalty

15 Da ließ Esther dem Mardachai wieder sagen:

and to say Esther to/for to return: reply to(wards) Mordecai

16 Gehe hin, versammle alle Juden, die sich zu Susa finden, und fastet für mich: und zwar sollt ihr drei Tage lang, bei Nacht und bei Tage, weder essen noch trinken; auch ich will mit meinen Dienerinnen ebenso fasten. Und darnach will ich zum Könige hineingehen, obwohl dies dem Gesetze zuwiderläuft; und wenn ich umkommen soll, nun so komme ich um!

to go: went to gather [obj] all [the] Jew [the] to find in/on/with Susa and to fast upon me and not to eat and not to drink three day night and day also I and maiden my to fast so and in/on/with so to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king which not like/as law and like/as as which to perish to perish

17 Und Mardachai ging fort und that ganz so, wie ihm Esther aufgetragen hatte.

and to pass Mordecai and to make: do like/as all which to command upon him Esther
