Epheser 6
1 Ihr Kinder, gehorchet euren Eltern im Herrn, denn das ist in der Ordnung.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 Ehre deinen Vater und Mutter, es ist dies das erste Gebot mit Verheißung:
“Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise),
3 daß es dir wohl gehe und du lange lebest auf Erden.
“that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on the earth.”
4 Und ihr Väter, reizet eure Kinder nicht zum Zorn, sondern zieht sie auf in der Zucht und Vermahnung des Herrn.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
5 Ihr Knechte, gehorchet euren Herrn nach dem Fleisch mit Furcht und Zittern in Einfalt eures Herzens, als wie dem Christus;
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear and sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.
6 nicht mit Augendienerei als Menschengefällige, sondern als Knechte Christus' den Willen Gottes von Herzen erfüllend:
And do this not only to please them while they are watching, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.
7 mit gutem Willen dienend als dem Herrn und nicht Menschen,
Serve with good will, as to the Lord and not to men,
8 im Bewußtsein, daß, was ein jeder Gutes thut, das wird er wieder bekommen vom Herrn, er sei Knecht oder Freier.
because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
9 Und ihr Herrn, haltet euch ebenso gegen sie, und lasset ab von Drohen, im Bewußtsein, daß ihr wie sie einen Herrn habt in den Himmeln, und daß bei ihm kein Ansehen der Person gilt.
And masters, do the same for your slaves. Give up your use of threats, because you know that He who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.
10 Im übrigen werdet mächtig im Herrn und in der Gewalt seiner Stärke.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
11 Ziehet an die Waffenrüstung Gottes, daß ihr bestehen könnet wider die Schliche des Teufels;
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 denn ihr habt nicht zu kämpfen gegen Blut und Fleisch, sondern gegen die Herrschaften, gegen die Mächte, gegen die Weltherrscher dieser Finsternis, gegen die Geisterwesen der Bosheit in der Himmelswelt. (aiōn g165)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (aiōn g165)
13 Darum nehmt die Rüstung Gottes, daß ihr widerstehen könnet am bösen Tag, und alles bewältigend aufrecht bleiben.
Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.
14 So stehet also, eure Lende gegürtet mit Wahrheit, angethan mit dem Harnisch der Gerechtigkeit,
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed,
15 die Füße geschuht mit der Bereitschaft zum Evangelium des Friedens,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace.
16 bei allem aber aufnehmend den Schild des Glaubens, mit welchem ihr alle feurigen Geschoße des Bösen auslöschen könnt;
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 und nehmet an euch den Helm des Heils und das Schwert des Geistes, welches ist das Wort Gottes;
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 mit allem Bitten und Flehen betend allezeit im Geiste, und wachend dazu in aller Ausdauer und Fürbitte für alle Heilige,
Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.
19 auch für mich, daß mir das Wort gegeben werde mit Aufthun meines Mundes, frei zu verkünden das Geheimnis des Evangeliums,
Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 für das ich werbe in Fesseln, daß ich offen damit hervortreten möge, wie es meine Pflicht ist zu reden.
for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it fearlessly, as I should.
21 Damit aber auch ihr wisset, wie es mir geht und was ich thue, wird euch Tychikus der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener im Herrn alles berichten;
Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know about me and what I am doing.
22 den habe ich zu euch geschickt zu diesem Zweck, damit ihr erfahrt wie es bei uns steht, und er eure Herzen tröste.
I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about us, and that he may encourage your hearts.
23 Friede den Brüdern und Liebe samt Glauben, von Gott dem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.
Peace to the brothers and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Die Gnade mit allen, die unseren Herrn Jesus Christus lieben unwandelbar.
Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
