5 Mose 34

1 Und Mose stieg aus den Steppen Moabs auf den Berg Nebo, auf die Spitze des Pisga, der gegenüber von Jericho liegt; da zeigte ihm Jahwe das ganze Land: Gilead bis nach Dan,

Then Moses went from the plaine of Moab vp into mount Nebo vnto the top of Pisgah that is ouer against Iericho: and the Lord shewed him all the land of Gilead, vnto Dan,

2 ganz Naphthali und das Gebiet Ephraims und Manasses, sowie das ganze Gebiet Judas bis zum westlichen Meere,

And all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Iudah, vnto the vtmost sea:

3 das Südland und die Jordans-Aue, die Ebene der Palmenstadt Jericho bis nach Zoar.

And the South, and the plaine of the valley of Iericho, the citie of palmetrees, vnto Zoar.

4 Und Jahwe sprach zu ihm: Das ist das Land, das ich Abraham, Isaak und Jakob eidlich verheißen habe, indem ich sprach: Deinen Nachkommen will ich es verleihen! Ich habe es dich mit eigenen Augen schauen lassen; aber hinüber sollst du nicht gelangen!

And the Lord said vnto him, This is the lande which I sware vnto Abraham, to Izhak and to Iaacob saying, I will giue it vnto thy seede: I haue caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not goe ouer thither.

5 Und Mose, der Knecht Jahwes, starb dort im Lande Moab, wie Jahwe gesagt hatte,

So Moses the seruant of the Lord dyed there in the land of Moab, according to the worde of the Lord.

6 und man begrub ihn im Thale im Lande Moab, gegenüber von Beth Peor, aber niemand kennt sein Grab bis auf den heutigen Tag.

And hee buried him in a valley in the land of Moab ouer against Beth-peor, but no man knoweth of his sepulchre vnto this day.

7 Und Mose war hundertundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er starb; seine Augen waren nicht erloschen und seine Frische nicht geschwunden.

Moses was nowe an hundreth and twentie yeere olde when hee died, his eye was not dimme, nor his naturall force abated.

8 Und die Israeliten beweinten Mose in den Steppen Moabs dreißig Tage lang; erst dann war die Zeit des Weinens und Trauerns um Mose voll.

And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plaine of Moab thirtie dayes: so the dayes of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

9 Josua aber, der Sohn Nuns, war mit dem Geiste der Weisheit erfüllt, weil Mose seine Hände auf ihn gelegt hatte, und die Israeliten gehorchten ihm und handelten so dem Befehle gemäß, den Jahwe Mose gegeben hatte.

And Ioshua the sonne of Nun was full of ye spirit of wisedome: for Moses had put his hands vpon him. And the children of Israel were obedient vnto him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

10 Es stand aber in Israel kein Prophet mehr auf, wie Mose, mit dem Jahwe von Angesicht zu Angesicht verkehrt hätte,

But there arose not a Prophet since in Israel like vnto Moses (whome the Lord knew face to face)

11 in Anbetracht aller der Zeichen und Wunder, die er als Abgesandter Jahwes in Ägypten am Pharao und allen seinen Untergebenen, sowie an seinem ganzen Lande getan hat,

In all ye miracles and wonders which ye Lord sent him to do in ye land of Egypt before Pharaoh and before all his seruantes, and before al his land,

12 und in Anbetracht aller der gewaltigen Stärke und furchtbaren Macht, die Mose vor den Augen von ganz Israel bethätigte.

And in all that mightie hand and all that great feare, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.
