5 Mose 27

1 Mose aber und die Vornehmsten in Israel gaben dem Volke folgenden Befehl: Haltet alle die Gebote, die ich euch heute gebe!

Moses and the Israelite elders of Israel gave these instructions to the people: Keep all the commandments I am giving you today.

2 Und wenn ihr über den Jordan hinüber in das Land gezogen seid, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleiht, so richte dir große Steine auf, übertünche sie mit Kalk

The day you cross the Jordan into the country the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones and paint them with whitewash.

3 und schreibe darauf alle Worte dieses Gesetzes, sobald du hinübergezogen bist, damit du, wie dir Jahwe, der Gott deiner Väter, verheißen hat, in das Land hineinkommst, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleiht, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt.

Then write all these laws on them once you've crossed over to enter the country that the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your forefathers, promised you.

4 Sobald ihr den Jordan überschritten habt, sollt ihr diese Steine, gemäß dem, was ich euch heute gebiete, auf dem Berge Ebal aufrichten und mit Kalk übertünchen.

After you've crossed the Jordan, you are to set up these stones on Mount Ebal, having painted them with whitewash, as I've ordered you to do today.

5 Auch sollst du dort Jahwe, deinem Gott, einen Altar errichten, und zwar einen Altar aus Steinen, die du nicht mit eisernen Werkzeugen bearbeitet hast,

Also build a stone altar there to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Don't use any stone tools in its construction.

6 - aus unbehauenen Steinen sollst du den Altar Jahwes, deines Gottes, errichten - und sollst Jahwe, deinem Gotte, Brandopfer darauf darbringen

Build the altar of the Lord your God with uncut stones and sacrifice burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God.

7 und Heilsopfer schlachten und sie daseIbst verzehren und vor Jahwe, deinem Gotte, fröhlich sein.

That is also where you are to sacrifice and eat your peace offerings, celebrating in the presence of the Lord your God.

8 Auf die Steine aber sollst du alle Worte dieses Gesetzes deutlich und sorgfältig schreiben.

Write all these laws clearly on the stones.

9 So sprachen Mose und die levitischen Priester zu ganz Israel also: Sei still und höre zu, Israel! Heute bist du das Volk Jahwes, deines Gottes, geworden;

Moses and the Levitical priests gave these orders to all the Israelites: “Be quiet, people of Israel, and listen! Today you have become the people of the Lord your God.

10 so höre denn auf die Stimme Jahwes, deines Gottes, und halte seine Gebote und seine Satzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete.

So obey what the Lord your God tells you, and follow commandments and regulations that I'm giving you today.”

11 An ebendemselben Tage gab Mose dem Volke folgende Anweisung:

That day Moses gave these orders to the people:

12 Wenn ihr den Jordan überschritten habt, sollen sich die einen auf dem Berge Gerizim aufstellen, um das Volk zu segnen, nämlich: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Joseph und Benjamin;

After you've crossed the Jordan, the following tribes are to stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

13 die anderen aber sollen sich, um den FIuch auszusprechen, auf dem Berg Ebal aufstellen, nämlich: Ruben, Gad, Asser, Zebulon, Dan und Naphthali.

The following tribes are to stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14 Und die Leviten sollen anheben und mit hocherhobener Stimme zu allen Israeliten sprechen:

Then the Levites will shout in a loud voice so Israelite can hear:

15 Verflucht ist, wer ein Schnitzbild oder Gußbild, ein Machwerk von Künstlerhänden verfertigt, zum Greuel für Jahwe, und es im Geheimen aufstellt! Und das ganze Volk soll antworten und sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who makes a carved image or a metal idol and worships it in secret. It's only an object that someone made, and it's offensive to the Lord!” Everyone says “Amen!”

16 Verflucht ist, wer seinen Vater oder seine Mutter verunehrt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who dishonors their father or mother.” Everyone says “Amen!”

17 Verflucht ist, wer die Grenze seines Nächsten verrückt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who moves their neighbor's boundary stone!” Everyone says “Amen!”

18 Verflucht ist, wer einen Blinden irre führt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who allows a blind man to wander in the road!” Everyone says “Amen!”

19 Verflucht ist, wer das Recht von Fremdlingen, Waisen oder Witwen beugt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who doesn't treat foreigners, the orphans, and widows fairly!” Everyone says “Amen!”

20 Verflucht ist, wer dem Weibe seines Vaters beiwohnt, denn er hat die Scham seines Vaters aufgedeckt. Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on any man who sleeps with his father's wife, for he has disgraced his father!” Everyone says “Amen!”

21 Verflucht ist, wer irgend einem Tiere beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who has sex with any animal!” Everyone says “Amen!”

22 Verflucht ist, wer seiner Schwester, sie sei nun die Tochter seines Vaters oder seiner Mutter, beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on any man who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother!” Everyone says “Amen!”

23 Verflucht ist, wer seiner Schwägerin beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on any man who sleeps with his mother-in-law!” Everyone says “Amen!”

24 Verflucht ist, wer seinen Nächsten heimlich erschlägt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who secretly attacks his neighbor!” Everyone says “Amen!”

25 Verflucht ist, wer sich dazu dingen läßt, das Blut eines Unschuldigen mörderisch zu vergießen! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who accepts a bribe to kill someone who's innocent!” Everyone says “Amen!”

26 Verflucht ist, wer die Worte dieses Gesetzes nicht in Kraft treten läßt, indem er nicht darnach thut! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!

“A curse on anyone who doesn't carefully obey all these laws by keeping them!” Everyone says “Amen!”
