5 Mose 23
1 Der Gemeinde Jahwes darf keiner angehören, der durch Hodenzerquetschung oder durch das Abschneiden der Harnröhre verstümmelt ist.
He that is a eunuch, whether he have been crushed or cut, shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.
2 Der Gemeinde Jahwes darf kein Bastard angehören; keiner, der auch nur im zehnten Gliede von einem solchen abstammt, darf der Gemeinde Jahwes angehören.
A bastard shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even his tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.
3 Kein Ammoniter oder Moabiter darf der Gemeinde Jahwes angehören; niemals soll einer, der auch nur im zehnten Gliede von ihnen abstammt, der Gemeinde Jahwes angehören dürfen,
An Ammonite or Moabite shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even their tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah for ever;
4 weil sie euch unterwegs, als ihr aus Ägypten wegzogt, nicht mit Brot und Wasser entgegengekommen sind und wider dich aus Pethor in Mesopotamien Bileam, den Sohn Beors, gedungen haben, um dich zu verfluchen.
because they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
5 Aber Jahwe, dein Gott, war nicht willens, auf Bileam zu hören, vielmehr verwandelte dir Jahwe, dein Gott, den Fluch in Segen; denn Jahwe, dein Gott, hatte dich lieb.
But Jehovah thy God would not listen to Balaam; and Jehovah thy God turned the curse into blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.
6 Du sollst, so lange du lebst, niemals auf ihr Wohlergehen und ihr Glück bedacht sein.
Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
7 Die Edomiter sollst du nicht verabscheuen, denn sie sind deine Brüder; auch die Ägypter sollst du nicht verabscheuen, denn du hast in ihrem Land als Fremdling geweilt.
Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother. Thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.
8 Solche Nachkommen von ihnen, die ihnen im dritten Gliede geboren werden, dürfen der Gemeinde Jahwes angehören.
Children that are born to them shall come into the congregation of Jehovah in the third generation.
9 Wenn du im Kriege gegen deine Feinde ein Lager beziehst, so hüte dich vor allem Ungehörigen.
When thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then keep thee from every evil thing.
10 Wenn einer unter dir ist, der infolge eines nächtlichen Begebnisses unrein geworden ist, soll er sich hinaus vor das Lager begeben und darf nicht ins Lager hineinkommen;
If there be with thee a man that is not clean from what hath happened in the night, then shall he go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp;
11 erst wenn er sich gegen Abend gewaschen hat, darf er um Sonnenuntergang wieder hinein ins Lager kommen.
and it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp.
12 Auch sollst du einen bestimmten Ort außerhalb des Lagers haben, an den du dich hinauszubegeben hast;
Thou shalt have a place also outside the camp, and shalt go forth thither.
13 und unter deinen Geräten sollst du einen Pflock haben: mit dem sollst du, wenn du dich draußen niederkauern mußt, ein Loch graben und es dann zur Bedeckung deines Unrats wieder zuscharren.
And thou shalt have a shovel amongst thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which is come from thee.
14 Denn Jahwe, dein Gott, zieht inmitten deines Lagers einher, um dich zu schützen und dir deine Feinde preiszugeben; darum soll dein Lager heilig sein, damit er nicht irgend etwas Widerliches an dir sehe und sich von dir zurückziehe.
For Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.
15 Einen Sklaven, der sich vor seinem Herrn zu dir geflüchtet hat, sollst du seinem Herrn nicht ausliefern.
Thou shalt not hand over to his master a bondman that hath escaped from his master unto thee:
16 Er soll bei dir innerhalb deiner Grenzen bleiben dürfen, an dem Orte, den er erwählen wird, in einer deiner Ortschaften, wo es ihm gefällt, ohne daß du ihn belästigen darfst.
he shall dwell with thee, even in thy midst, in the place that he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it seemeth good to him; thou shalt not oppress him.
17 Es soll unter den israelitischen Mädchen keine im Dienst einer heidnischen Gottheit der Unzucht Geweihte geben, noch darf es unter den israelitischen Knaben einen Geweihten geben.
There shall be no prostitute amongst the daughters of Israel, nor any Sodomite amongst the sons of Israel.
18 Du darfst nicht aus Anlaß irgend welches Gelübdes Hurenlohn oder Hundegeld in das Haus Jahwes, deines Gottes, bringen, denn auch dieses beides ist Jahwe, deinem Gott, ein Greuel.
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow; for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
19 Von deinem Volksgenossen darfst du keine Zinsen nehmen, weder für Geld, noch für Speise, noch für irgend etwas anderes, das man auf Zins leihen kann.
Thou shalt take no interest of thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that can be lent upon interest:
20 Von dem Ausländer darfst du Zinsen nehmen, aber von deinem Volksgenossen darfst du keine fordern, damit dich Jahwe, dein Gott, in allem segne, was deine Hand unternimmt in dem Lande, in das du einziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen.
of a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
21 Wenn du Jahwe, deinem Gotte, ein Gelübde thust, so zögere nicht, es zu erfüllen; denn sonst wird es Jahwe, dein Gott, von dir fordern, und du wärest eines Vergehens schuldig.
When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not delay to perform it; for Jehovah thy God will certainly require it of thee, and it shall be sin in thee.
22 Wenn du aber auf das Geloben verzichtest, so bist du deshalb keines Vergehens schuldig.
But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
23 Was du einmal ausgesprochen hast, sollst du halten und dementsprechend handeln, wie du Jahwe, deinem Gotte, freiwillig gelobt, und was dein Mund ausgesprochen hat.
What is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and do, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God, the voluntary-offering that thou hast promised with thy mouth.
24 Wenn du in den Weinberg deines Nächsten kommst, so magst du Trauben essen, so viel du Lust hast, bis du satt bist, aber in dein Gefäß darfst du nichts thun.
When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes thy fill, according to thy desire, but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.
25 Wenn du in das in Halmen stehende Getreide deines Nächsten kommst, darfst du dir Ähren mit der Hand abreißen, aber die Sichel darfst du nicht über die Halme deines Nächsten schwingen.
When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not wave the sickle against thy neighbour's standing corn.
