Amos 4
1 Hört dieses Wort, ihr Basanskühe auf dem Berge Samarias, die die Geringen bedrücken, die Dürftigen zermalmen, die zu ihren Herren sprechen: Schaff' uns zu trinken!
Heare this worde, ye kine of Bashan that are in the mountaine of Samaria, which oppresse the poore, and destroy the needie, and they say to their masters, Bring, and let vs drinke.
2 Der Herr Jahwe hat bei seiner Heiligkeit geschworen: Fürwahr, es sollen Tage über euch kommen, da wird man euch an Angeln bis auf die Letzten an Fischhaken emporziehen.
The Lord God hath sworne by his holines, that loe, the dayes shall come vpon you, that hee wil take you away with thornes, and your posteritie with fish hookes.
3 Dann werdet ihr durch die Breschen hinauslaufen, eine jede stracks vor sich hin, und werdet eure Götzen wegwerfen, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
And ye shall goe out at the breaches euery kow forward: and ye shall cast your selues out of the palace, saith the Lord.
4 Zieht nur nach Bethel und verübt Schandthaten! Zieht nur nach dem Gilgal und verübt viele Schandthaten! Bringt nur am Morgen eure Schlachtopfer, am dritten Tag eure Zehnten dar!
Come to Beth-el, and transgresse: to Gilgal, and multiplie transgression, and bring your sacrifices in the morning, and your tithes after three yeres.
5 Verbrennt nur gesäuerte Brote als Dankopfer und fordert mit lautem Ruf zu freiwilligen Gaben auf! Denn so thut ihr gern, ihr Israeliten! ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe.
And offer a thankesgiuing of leauen, publish and proclaime the free offrings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord God.
6 Wohl erhielt ich euch die Zähne blank in allen euren Städten und ließ es an Brot in allen euren Wohnsitzen mangeln, und doch habt ihr euch nicht zu mir bekehrt, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
And therefore haue I giuen you cleannes of teeth in all your cities, and scarcenesse of bread in all your places, yet haue ye not returned vnto me, saith the Lord.
7 Wohl verweigerte ich euch den Regen, als noch drei Monate bis zur Ernte waren, und ließ wiederholt auf die eine Stadt Regen fallen, auf die andere Stadt nicht - das eine Feld wurde vom Regen getroffen, während das andere Feld, das der Regen nicht traf, verdorrte -;
And also I haue withholden the raine from you, when there were yet three moneths to the haruest, and I caused it to raine vpon one citie, and haue not caused it to raine vpon another citie: one piece was rained vpon, and the piece whereupon it rained not, withered.
8 wohl wankte man wiederholt aus zwei, drei Städten zu einer Stadt, um Wasser zu trinken, ohne daß man seinen Durst stillte. Und doch habt ihr euch nicht zu mir bekehrt, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
So two or three cities wandred vnto one citie to drinke water, but they were not satisfied: yet haue ye not returned vnto me, saith the Lord.
9 Ich strafte euch mit Brand und mit Rost; ich ließ eure Gärten und Weinberge vertrocknen; eure Feigenbäume und Ölbäume fraßen die Heuschrecken ab. Und doch habt ihr euch nicht zu mir bekehrt, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
I haue smitten you with blasting, and mildewe: your great gardens and your vineyardes, and your figtrees, and your oliue trees did the palmer worme deuoure: yet haue ye not returned vnto me, saith the Lord.
10 Ich sandte eine Pest unter euch wie einst gegen Ägypten; ich erschlug eure kriegstüchtige Mannschaft mit dem Schwert; dazu wurden euch eure Rosse weggenommen, und ich ließ euch den Gestank eures Lagers gerade in die Nase steigen. Und doch habt ihr euch nicht zu mir bekehrt, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
Pestilence haue I sent among you, after the maner of Egypt: your yong men haue I slaine with the sworde, and haue taken away your horses: and I haue made the stinke of your tentes to come vp euen into your nostrels: yet haue yee not returned vnto me, saith the Lord.
11 Ich bewirkte einen Umsturz unter euch, so wie Gott einst Sodom und Gomorrha umstürzte, daß ihr einem aus dem Brande geretteten Holzscheite glicht. Und doch habt ihr euch nicht zu mir bekehrt, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
I haue ouerthrowe you, as God ouerthrew Sodom and Gomorah: and ye were as a firebrand pluckt out of the burning: yet haue ye not returned vnto me, saith the Lord.
12 Darum werde ich also mit dir verfahren, Israel: - weil ich denn solches an dir thun will, so bereite dich, Israel, deinem Gotte gegenüberzutreten!
Therefore, thus wil I do vnto thee, O Israel: and because I wil doe this vnto thee, prepare to meete thy God, O Israel.
13 Denn fürwahr, es ist einer, der die Berge gebildet und den Wind geschaffen hat, der dem Menschen kundgiebt, was er im Sinne hat, der das Morgenrot in Dunkel verwandelt und über die Höhen der Erde dahinschreitet, - Jahwe, Gott der Heerscharen, ist sein Name!
For lo, he that formeth the mountaines, and createth the winde, and declareth vnto man what is his thought: which maketh the morning darkenesse, and walketh vpon the hie places of the earth, the Lord God of hostes is his Name.
