2 Korinther 5
1 Wissen wir doch, daß wir, wenn unsere irdische Zeltwohnung aufgelöst wird, einen Bau von Gott haben, ein Haus, nicht mit Händen gemacht, ewig im Himmel. (aiōnios g166)
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. (aiōnios g166)
2 Darum seufzen wir im Verlangen mit unserer Behausung vom Himmel überkleidet zu werden;
For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
3 werden wir doch nicht bloß erfunden werden, wenn wir sie anziehen.
because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
4 Wir seufzen nämlich dieweil wir im Zelte sind; es drückt auf uns, daß wir nicht erst entkleidet, sondern lieber überkleidet werden möchten, auf daß das Sterbliche verschlungen würde vom Leben.
So while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life.
5 Denn dazu hat uns bereitet Gott, derselbe, der uns das Unterpfand des Geistes verliehen hat.
And God has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come.
6 Getrost daher allezeit bei dem Bewußtsein der Heimat des Herrn, die wir entbehren, so lange wir unsere Heimat im Leibe haben -
Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord.
7 denn wir wandeln durch Glauben und nicht durch Schauen -
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
8 getrost sind wir doch und unser Sinn geht darauf, die Heimat im Leibe zu vertauschen mit der Heimat bei dem Herrn;
We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
9 darum setzen wir auch alles daran, ihm zu gefallen, draußen wie daheim;
So we aspire to please Him, whether we are here in this body or away from it.
10 müssen wir doch alle offenbar werden vor dem Richtstuhl des Christus, damit jeder sein Teil von Leibesleben her abbekomme, wo seine Thaten hingiengen, es sei gut oder böse.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his due for the things done in the body, whether good or bad.
11 So also mit der Furcht des Herrn vertraut, suchen wir Menschen zu gewinnen, bei Gott aber sind wir wohl gekannt; doch hoffe ich auch in euren Gewissen erkannt zu sein.
Therefore, since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is clear to God, and I hope it is clear to your conscience as well.
12 Es ist nicht an dem, daß wir wieder uns selbst bei euch empfehlen, sondern euch geben wir Gelegenheit zum Ruhmeszeugnis für uns, nämlich denen gegenüber, die sich mit ihrem Auftreten rühmen, und nichts im Herzen haben.
We are not commending ourselves to you again. Instead, we are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you can answer those who take pride in appearances rather than in the heart.
13 Sind wir von Sinnen gekommen, so ist es für Gott; sind wir bei Sinnen, so sind wir's für euch.
If we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
14 Denn unser Wahn ist die Liebe Christus', mit dem Schlusse: einer ist für alle gestorben, also sind sie alle gestorben;
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, therefore all died.
15 für alle gestorben ist er, auf daß die Lebenden nicht mehr sich selbst leben, sondern dem, der für sie gestorben und auferweckt ist.
And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
16 So kennen wir von jetzt an niemand mehr nach dem Fleisch. Haben wir auch Christus nach dem Fleisch gekannt, davon wissen wir jetzt nichts mehr.
So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Although we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
17 Darum, wo einer in Christus ist, das ist neue Schöpfung. Das alte ist vergangen, siehe, es ist neu geworden.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!
18 Alles aber kommt von Gott, der uns mit sich versöhnt hat durch Christus, und hat uns das Amt der Versöhnung gegeben.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
19 Ja, so ist es: Gott war es, der in Christus die Welt mit sich selber versöhnte, indem er ihnen ihre Sünden nicht anrechnet, und unter uns aufrichtete das Wort von der Versöhnung.
that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20 Für Christus also werben wir, als ob Gott bäte durch uns. Wir bitten für Christus: lasset euch versöhnen mit Gott.
Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.
21 Den, der keine Sünde kannte, hat er für uns zur Sünde gemacht, damit wir würden Gerechtigkeit Gottes in ihm.
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
