2 Chronik 2
1 Und Salomo befahl, dem Namen Jahwes einen Tempel und für ihn selbst einen Königspalast zu erbauen.
Then Salomon determined to builde an house for the Name of the Lord, and an house for his kingdome.
2 Und Salomo zählte 70000 Lastträger ab und 80000 Steinhauer im Gebirge und 3600 Aufseher über sie.
And Salomon tolde out seuentie thousand that bare burdens, and fourescore thousande men to hewe stones in the mountaine, and three thousand and sixe hundreth to ouersee them.
3 Sodann sandte Salomo zu Huram, dem Könige von Tyrus, und ließ ihm sagen: Was du meinem Vater David erwiesen hast, indem du ihm Cedern sandtest, damit er sich einen Palast zu seinem Wohnsitz erbaue, das erweise auch mir.
And Salomon sent to Huram the king of Tyrus, saying, As thou hast done to Dauid my father, and didst sende him cedar trees to buylde him an house to dwell in, so do to me.
4 Ich bin soeben im Begriff, dem Namen Jahwes, meines Gottes, einen Tempel zu erbauen, um ihm denselben zu weihen, wohlriechendes Räucherwerk vor ihm zu verbrennen, sowie zur regelmäßigen Darbringung der reihenweise aufgelegten Brote und zu den Brandopfern an jedem Morgen und Abend, an den Sabbathen und Neumonden und den Festen Jahwes, unseres Gottes, - solches liegt Israel für immer ob.
Behold, I buylde an house vnto the Name of the Lord my God, to sanctifie it vnto him, and to burne sweete incense before him, and for the continuall shewbread, and for the burnt offrings of the morning and euening, on the Sabbath dayes, and in the new moneths, and in the solemne feastes of the Lord our God: this is a perpetuall thing for Israel.
5 Und der Tempel, den ich bauen will, soll groß sein; denn unser Gott ist größer als alle Götter.
And the house which I buylde, is great: for great is our God aboue all gods.
6 Wer aber wäre imstande, ihm eine Behausung zu erbauen? Denn der Himmel und die höchsten Himmel können ihn nicht fassen, und wer bin ich, daß ich ihm eine Behausung bauen sollte? - es sei denn, um vor ihm zu räuchern!
Who is he then that can be able to buylde him an house, when the heauen, and the heauen of heauens can not conteine him? who am I then that I should buylde him an house? but I do it to burne incense before him.
7 So sende mir nun einen Mann, der geschickt ist, in Gold, Silber, Erz, Eisen, rotem Purpur, karmesinfarbigem Zeug und blauem Purpur zu arbeiten, und der sich auf das Eingravieren von Bildwerk versteht, im Verein mit den Künstlern, die mir in Juda und Jerusalem zur Verfügung stehen, die mein Vater David beschafft hat.
Sende me nowe therefore a cunning man that can worke in golde, in siluer, and in brasse, and in yron, and in purple, and crimosin and blue silke, and that can graue in grauen worke with the cunning men that are with me in Iudah and in Ierusalem, whom Dauid my father hath prepared.
8 Sende mir auch Cedernbalken, Cypressen und Sandelholz vom Libanon; denn ich weiß, daß sich deine Leute darauf verstehen, Bauholz auf dem Libanon zu hauen, und meine Leute stehen zur Unterstützung der deinigen bereit.
Sende mee also cedar trees, firre trees and Algummim trees from Lebanon: for I knowe that thy seruants can skill to hewe timber in Lebanon: and beholde, my seruantes shalbe with thine,
9 Und es müssen Balken in Menge für mich beschafft werden; denn das Haus, das ich bauen will, soll groß und außerordentlich sein.
That they may prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I doe buylde, is great and wonderfull.
10 Für die Holzhauer aber, die die Bäume fällen, liefere ich zur Beköstigung deiner Leute 20000 Kor Weizen und 20000 Kor Gerste, 20000 Bath Wein und 20000 Bath Öl.
And behold, I will giue to thy seruants the cutters and the hewers of timber twentie thousand measures of beaten wheate, and twentie thousand measures of barley, and twentie thousand baths of wine, and twentie thousand baths of oyle.
11 Huram aber, der König von Tyrus, antwortete in einem Brief und sandte an Salomo die Botschaft: Weil Jahwe sein Volk lieb hat, hat er dich zum König über sie gesetzt.
Then Huram King of Tyrus answered in writing which he sent to Salomon, Because the Lord hath loued his people, he hath made thee King ouer them.
12 Und Huram sprach: Gepriesen sei Jahwe, der Gott Israels, der den Himmel und die Erde gemacht hat, daß er dem Könige Davis einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat, der sich auf Klugheit und Einsicht versteht, um Jahwe einen Tempel und sich einen Königspalast zu erbauen.
Huram sayd moreouer, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which made the heauen and the earth, and that hath giuen vnto Dauid the King a wise sonne, that hath discretion, prudence and vnderstanding to buylde an house for the Lord, and a palace for his kingdome.
13 Und nun sende ich dir einen kunstverständigen, einsichtigen Mann, Huram Abi,
Now therefore I haue sent a wise man, and of vnderstanding of my father Hurams,
14 den Sohn eines danitischen Weibes, der einen Tyrier zum Vater hat. Er versteht sich darauf, in Gold, Silber, Erz, Eisen und Steinen, sowie in Holz, rotem und blauem Purpur, Byssus und karmesinfarbigem Zeuge zu arbeiten, jede Art von Bildwerk einzugravieren und allerlei Kunstwerke, die ihm etwa aufgetragen werden, auszuführen, im Verein mit deinen Künstlern und den Künstlern meines Herrn David, deines Vaters.
The sonne of a woman of the daughters of Dan: and his father was a man of Tyrus, and he can skill to worke in golde, in siluer, in brasse, in yron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue silke, and in fine linen, and in crimosin, and can graue in all grauen workes, and broyder in all broydered worke that shalbe giuen him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord Dauid thy father.
15 So möge denn nun mein Herr den Weizen, die Gerste, das Öl und den Wein, von dem er gesprochen hat, seinen Knechten senden.
Now therefore the wheate and the barley, the oyle and the wine, which my lorde hath spoken of, let him send vnto his seruants.
16 Wir aber wollen Bäume auf dem Libanon fällen, soviel du irgend bedarfst, und wollen sie dir als Flöße auf dem Meer nach Japho bringen; du aber magst sie dann hinauf nach Jerusalem schaffen.
And we wil cut wood in Lebanon as much as thou shalt neede, and will bring it to thee in raftes by the sea to Iapho, so thou mayest cary them to Ierusalem.
17 Und Salomo zählte alle die Fremdlinge, die im Lande Israel wohnten, nach der Zählung, bei der sie sein Vater David gezählt hatte; da fanden sich 153600.
And Salomon nombred al the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the nombring that his father Dauid had nombred them: and they were found an hundreth and three and fiftie thousand, and sixe hundreth.
18 Von diesen machte er 70000 zu Lastträgern, 80000 zu Steinhauern im Gebirge und 3600 zu Aufsehern, damit sie die Leute zur Fronarbeit anhielten.
And he set seuentie thousande of them to the burden, and fourescore thousande to hewe stones in the mountaine, and three thousande and sixe hundreth ouerseers to cause the people to worke.
