1 Im 480. Jahre nach dem Auszuge der Israreliten aus Ägypten, im vierten Jahr - im Monat Siw, das ist der zweite Monat - der Regierung Salomos über Israel, da baute er den Tempel für Jahwe.
And so it came to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year (in the month of Zif, the same, being the second month) of the reign of Solomon over Israel, that he began to build the house unto Yahweh.
2 Und das Gebäude, das der König Salomo für Jahwe errichtete, war sechzig Ellen lang, zwanzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch.
Now, the house which King Solomon built unto Yahweh, was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, —and thirty cubits in height.
3 Und die Halle vor dem Hauptraume des Gebäudes war zwanzig Ellen lang, östlich vor der Breitseite des Gebäudes, und zehn Ellen breit östlich vor dem Gebäude.
And, the porch in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, according to the breadth of the house, —ten cubits in breadth, in front of the house.
4 Und er brachte an dem Gebäude mit Balkenwerk vergitterte und nach innen zu schräg einfallende Fenster an.
And he made to the house windows, with closed bars.
5 Und an der Wand des Gebäudes errichtete er einen Anbau rings um die Wände des Hauses, rings um den Hauptraum und den Hinterraum, und stellte so ringsum Seitengemächer her.
And he built—by the wall of the house—a gallery, round about, against the walls of the house, round about, both to the temple, and to the shrine, —and he made side chambers round about.
6 Das unterste Stockwerk dieses Anbaus war fünf Ellen breit, das mittlere war sechs Ellen breit und das dritte sieben Ellen breit; denn er hatte außen am Gebäude ringsum Absätze gemacht, daß kein Eingreifen in die Wände des Gebäudes stattfand.
The, lowest gallery, was five cubits broad, and, the middle, six cubits broad, and, the third, seven cubits broad, —for he put, ledges, against the house round about, on the outer side, so as not to make fastenings in the walls of the house.
7 Und als das Gebäude errichtet ward, baute man mit Steinen, die gleich beim Bruch fertig zugerichtet waren, so daß bei der Errichtung des Gebäudes weder Hämmer noch Meißel, kurz keinerlei eisernes Werkzeug zu hören war.
Now, the house, when it was in building, with whole quarry-stones, was built, —neither hammer, nor axe, nor any tools of iron, was heard in the house, when it was in building.
8 Die Thür zum untersten Seitenstocke befand sich auf der Südseite des Gebäudes, und auf einer Wendeltreppe stieg man zum mittleren und vom mittleren zum dritten Stockwerk empor.
The entrance of the lowest story, was on the right side of the house, —and, by winding stairs, went they up unto the middle [story], and, out of the middle, into, the third.
9 Und so errichtete er das Gebäude und vollendete es; und er deckte das Gebäude mit Balken und Täfelwerk von Cedern.
So he built the house, and finished it, —and ceiled the house with planks and beams of cedar;
10 Und er errichtete den Anbau rings am ganzen Gebäude, jedes Stockwerk fünf Ellen hoch, und verband sie mit dem Hause durch Cedernbalken.
and built the gallery against all the house, five cubits in height, —and so fastened the house, with timber of cedar.
11 Und es erging das Wort Jahwes an Salomo also:
Then came the word of Yahweh unto Solomon, saying:
12 Ich will acht haben auf dieses Gebäude, welches du errichtest. Wirst du nun in meinen Satzungen wandeln und nach meinen Rechten thun und acht haben auf alle meine Gebote, daß du darinnen wandelst, so will ich mein Wort an dir erfüllen, das ich zu deinem Vater David geredet habe,
Concerning this house, which thou art building, If thou wilt walk in my statutes, and, my regulations, wilt practise, and so observe all my commandments, by walking in them, Then will I establish my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father;
13 und will inmitten der Israeliten wohnen und will mein Volk Israel nicht verlassen.
and will make my habitation in the midst of the sons of Israel, —and will not forsake my people Israel.
14 So errichtete Salomo das Gebäude und vollendete es.
Thus Solomon built the house, and finished it;
15 Und er baute die Wände im Innern des Gebäudes aus mit Brettern von Cedern; vom Fußboden des Gebäudes an bis zu den Balken der Decke belegte er's im Innern mit Holz. Den Fußboden des Gebäudes aber belegte er mit Cypressenbrettern.
and he built the walls of the house on the inside, with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house, unto the cross-beams of the ceiling, he overlaid it with wood, on the inside, —and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of fir.
16 Und er baute die zwanzig Ellen auf der hinteren Seite des Hauses aus mit cedernen Brettern vom Fußboden an bis zu den Balken. Also baute er sich's im Innern aus zum Hinterraum, zum Allerheiligsten.
And he built twenty cubits, at the hinder part of the house, with boards of cedar, from the floor as far as the cross-beams, —and he built it within, for a shrine, even for the holy of holies;
17 Und vierzig Ellen maß das Gebäude, das heißt der Hauptraum vor dem Hinterraum.
but, forty cubits, was the house itself, —the same, was the temple, before the oracle.
18 Und Cedernholz war am Gebäude inwendig, Schnitzwerk von Coloquinten und Blumengehängen; alles war cedern, und kein Stein zu sehen.
And, the cedar for the house within, was carved with colocynths, and with festoons of flowers, —the whole, was cedar, there was no stone to be seen.
19 Und einen Hinterraum richtete er inwendig inmitten des Gebäudes her, daß man die Lade mit dem Gesetz Jahwes dort hinstelle.
And, the shrine in the midst of the house within, made he ready, —for placing there, the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.
20 Und vor dem Hinterraume - derselbe war zwanzig Ellen lang, zwanzig Ellen breit und zwanzig Ellen hoch; und er überzog ihn mit feinem Golde - machte er einen Altar aus Cedernholz.
And, the interior of the shrine, was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it, with pure gold, —and overlaid the altar with cedar.
21 Und Salomo überzog das Gebäude inwendig mit feinem Gold, und er brachte quer vor dem Hinterraume goldene Kettchen an und überzog ihn mit Gold.
Thus then did Solomon overlay the house within, with pure gold, —and he drew chains of gold across the front of the shrine, and overlaid it with gold;
22 Das ganze Gebäude überzog er so mit Gold, völlig das ganze Gebäude; auch den ganzen Altar, der dem Hinterraum angehörte, überzog er mit Gold.
yea, all the house, overlaid he with gold, until he had made all the house into one whole, —even all the altar that was by the shrine, overlaid he with gold.
23 Und er machte im Hinterraume zwei Kerube aus Holz vom wilden Ölbaum, je zehn Ellen hoch.
And he made, within the shrine, two cherubim of wild olive wood, —ten cubits in height;
24 Fünf Ellen aber maß der eine Flügel des Kerub und fünf Ellen der andere Flügel des Kerub, so daß es von dem einen Ende seiner Flügel bis zum anderen zehn Ellen waren.
and, five cubits, was the one wing of the cherub, and, five cubits, the second wing of the cherub, —ten cubits, from the one end of his wings unto the other end of his wings.
25 Und weitere zehn Ellen maß der andere Kerub; beide Kerube hatten einerlei Maß und einerlei Gestalt.
Ten cubits, also was the second cherub, —of one size and one shape, were the two cherubim.
26 Die Höhe des einen Kerub betrug zehn Ellen, und ebenso viel maß der andere Kerub.
The height of the one cherub, was ten cubits, —and, so, of the second cherub.
27 Und er stellte die Kerube mitten ins Innerste des Gebäudes, und sie hielten ihre Flügel ausgebreitet, so daß des einen Flügel an die eine Wand rührte, und der Flügel des anderen Kerubs an die andere Wand rührte, während ihre Flügel in der Mitte des Raumes aneinanderstießen.
And he placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the cherubim stretched forth their wings, —so that the wing of the one touched the [one] wall, and the wing of the other cherub, was touching the other wall, —and, their wings in the midst of the house, were touching, wing to wing.
28 Und er überzog die Kerube mit Gold.
And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29 Und an allen Wänden des Gebäudes rundum ließ er Schnitzwerk von Keruben, Palmen und Blumengehängen einschneiden, im Innern und auswendig.
And, all the walls of the house round about, carved he with figures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, —within and without.
30 Auch den Fußboden des Gebäudes überzog er mit Gold, inwendig und auswendig.
Even the floor of the house, overlaid he with gold, —within and without.
31 Für die Thüre des Hinterraums aber ließ er Thürflügel aus Holz vom wilden Ölbaum anfertigen: die obere Einfassung der Thüre und die Seitenpfosten bildeten ein Fünfeck.
And, the entrance of the shrine, made he with doors, of wild olive-wood, the pillars and posts being a fifth.
32 Auf den beiden Thürflügeln von Ölbaumholz aber ließ er Schnitzwerk von Keruben, Palmen und Blumengehängen anbringen und überzog es mit Gold, nämlich die Kerube und die Palmen mit breitgeschlagenem Golde.
The two doors, also were of olive-wood, and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, and overlaid them with gold, —yea he spread out, over the cherubim and over the palm-trees, the gold.
33 Und ebenso ließ er für den Eingang zum Hauptraume Pfosten aus Holz vom wilden Ölbaum, viereckige Pfosten, anfertigen
So, also, made he for the entrance of the temple, with posts of wild olive-wood, —a fourth part.
34 und zwei Thürflügel von Cypressenholz; der eine Flügel bestand aus zwei drehbaren Blättern, und der andere Flügel bestand aus zwei drehbaren Blättern.
And, the two doors, were of fir wood, —the two leaves of the one door, were folding, and, the two leaves of the other door, were folding.
35 Und er ließ Bildwerk von Keruben, Palmen und Blumengehängen anbringen und überzog sie unter genauer Anpassung an das Eingeschnitzte mit Gold.
And he carved cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, and overlaid them with gold, smoothed out on the carved work.
36 Und er baute die Mauer um den inneren Vorhof aus drei Lagen von Quadersteinen und einer Lage von Cedernbalken.
And he built the inner court, with three rows of hewn stone, —and a row of beams of cedar.
37 Im vierten Jahre ward der Grund gelegt zum Tempel Jahwes, im Monat Siw.
In the fourth year, was laid the foundation of the house of Yahweh, —in the month Zif;
38 Und im elften Jahre, im Monat Bul - das ist der achte Monat - ward der Tempel vollendet nach allen seinen Stücken und nach aller seiner Gebühr, so daß er sieben Jahre daran baute.
and, in the eleventh year, in the month Bul—the same, is the eighth month, was the house finished, as to all the particulars thereof, and as to all the appointments thereof, —so then he built it in seven years.
