1 Chronik 14
1 Und Hiram, der König von Tyrus, schickte Gesandte an David mit Cedernhölzern, dazu Steinmetzen und Zimmerleute, damit sie ihm einen Palast bauten.
Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a palace for him.
2 So erkannte David, daß ihn Jahwe als König über Israel betätigt, daß sein Königtum von Jahwe hochgebracht war um seines Volkes Israel willen.
And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had highly exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.
3 In Jerusalem nahm sich David noch weitere Frauen, und David erzeugte noch weitere Söhne und Töchter.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem and became the father of more sons and daughters.
4 Dies sind die Namen der Kinder, die ihm in Jerusalem geboren wurden: Sammua, Sobab, Nathan, Salomo,
These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
5 Jibhar, Elisua, Elpelet,
Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
7 Elisama, Beeljada, Eliphelet.
Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 Als aber die Philister vernahmen, daß David zum König über ganz Israel gesalbt war, rückten die Philister insgesamt an, um Davids habhaft zu werden. Als das David vernahm, zog er gegen sie aus.
When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went out to face them.
9 Als aber die Philister eingedrungen waren und sich in der Ebene Rephaim ausbreiteten,
Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim.
10 befragte David Gott: Soll ich gegen die Philister ziehen, und wirst du sie in meine Gewalt geben? Jahwe erwiderte ihm: Ziehe hin - ich werde sie in deine Gewalt geben!
So David inquired of God, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD, “for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 Als sie nun von Baal Perazim vorrückten, und David sie dort geschlagen hatte, rief er aus: Gott hat meine Feinde durch meine Hand durchbrochen wie bei einem Wasserdurchbruch! Darum benannte man jene Örtlichkeit: Baal Perazim.
So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim.
12 Aber sie ließen ihre Götter dort zurück; die wurden auf Befehl Davids verbrannt.
There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David ordered that they be burned in the fire.
13 Aber die Philister rückten nocheinmal an und breiteten sich in der Ebene aus.
Once again the Philistines raided the valley.
14 Als nun David abermals Gott befragte, antwortete ihm Gott: Ziehe ihnen nicht entgegen; wende dich gegen ihren Rücken und komme vom Bakagehölz her über sie!
So David again inquired of God, who answered him, “Do not march up after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.
15 Sobald du aber das Geräusch des Einherschreitens in den Wipfeln des Bakagehölzes hörst, dann schreite zum Angriff; denn Gott ist ausgezogen vor dir her, um das Heer der Philister zu schlagen.
As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has marched out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
16 David that, wie ihm Gott befohlen hatte, und so schlugen sie das Heer der Philister von Gibeon bis gegen Geser hin.
So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
17 Und der Ruhm Davids verbreitete sich in allen Landen, und Jahwe ließ die Furcht vor ihm auf alle Völker fallen.
And David’s fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him.
