Offenbarung 12
1 Ein großes Zeichen ward am Himmel sichtbar: Ein Weib, bekleidet mit der Sonne, den Mond zu ihren Füßen, auf ihrem Haupt ein Kranz von zwölf Sternen.
Then a great portent was seen in the heavens – a woman whose robe was the sun, and who had the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
2 Sie war gesegneten Leibes und schrie in ihren Wehen und Schmerzen des Gebärens.
She was pregnant; and she is crying out in the pain and agony of childbirth.
3 Und noch ein anderes Zeichen ward am Himmel sichtbar: siehe, ein großer, feuerroter Drache. Er hatte sieben Köpfe und zehn Hörner und auf seinen Köpfen sieben Kronen.
Another portent also was seen in the heavens There was a great red Dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.
4 Mit seinem Schweife fegte er den dritten Teil der Sterne vom Himmel weg und warf sie auf die Erde. Der Drache stand vor dem Weibe, das gebären sollte, auf daß er ihr das kaum geborene Kind verschlinge.
His tail draws after it a third of the stars in the heavens, and it hurled them down on the earth. The Dragon is standing in front of the woman who is about to give birth to the child, so that he may devour it as soon as it is born.
5 Und sie gebar ein Kind männlichen Geschlechts, das alle Völker mit Eisenzepter weiden soll. Jedoch ihr Kindlein ward zu Gott und seinem Thron entrückt.
The woman gave birth to a son, a male child, who is destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod; and her child was at once caught up to God on his throne.
6 Das Weib floh in die Wüste, wo Gott ihr schon eine Stätte bereitet hatte, wo man sie tausendzweihundertsechzig Tage lang ernähren soll.
But the woman fled into the wilderness, where there is a place prepared for her by God, to be tended there for twelve hundred and sixty days.
7 Und es entstand ein Kampf im Himmel: Michael und seine Engel fingen an, den Drachen zu bekämpfen. Doch auch der Drache und seine Engel kämpften.
Then a battle took place in the heavens. Michael and his angels fought with the Dragon. But though the Dragon, with his angels, fought,
8 Jedoch vermochten sie nicht standzuhalten, und ihres Bleibens war nicht länger mehr im Himmel.
he did not prevail; and there was no place left for them any longer in the heavens.
9 Der große Drache ward geworfen, die alte Schlange, die Teufel und Satan heißt und die ganze Welt verführt; er ward auf die Erde geworfen, und mit ihm wurden seine Engel hinabgeworfen.
Then the great Dragon, the primeval snake, known as the ‘devil’ and ‘Satan,’ who deceives all the world, was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
10 Dann hörte ich eine mächtige Stimme im Himmel, die sprach: "Jetzt ist gekommen das Heil, die Macht und Herrschaft unseres Gottes und die Gewalt seines Gesalbten. Denn gestürzt ist der Ankläger unserer Brüder, der sie Tag und Nacht vor unserem Gott anklagte.
And I heard a loud voice in heaven which said – ‘Now has begun the day of the salvation, and Power, and Dominion of our God, and the Rule of his Christ; for the Accuser of our people has been hurled down, he who has been accusing them before our God day and night.
11 Sie haben ihn durch das Blut des Lammes überwunden und durch ihr Zeugniswort; sie liebten ja ihr Leben so wenig, daß sie den Tod erlitten.
Their victory was due to the blood of the Lamb, and to the message to which they bore their testimony. In their love of life they shrank not from death.
12 So freut euch denn, ihr Himmel, und ihr, die ihr darinnen wohnet. Wehe der Erde und dem Meere! Der Teufel ist mit großer Wut zu euch hinabgestiegen, weil er weiß, daß ihm nur kurze Zeit vergönnt ist."
Therefore, be glad, heaven, and all who live in heaven! Alas for the earth and for the sea, for the devil has gone down to you in great fury, knowing that he has but little time.’
13 Als sich der Drache auf die Erde geworfen sah, verfolgte er das Weib, die Mutter jenes Knaben.
When the Dragon saw that he was hurled down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
14 Dem Weibe gab man jedoch die beiden Flügel des großen Adlers, damit sie in die Wüste an ihre Stätte hinflöge, wo sie, vor jener Schlange sicher, nun eine Zeit und zwei Zeiten und eine halbe Zeit ernährt wird.
But to the woman were given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she might fly to her place in the wilderness, where she is being tended for one year, and for two years, and for half a year in safety from the snake.
15 Da spie die Schlange aus dem Rachen Wasser nach dem Weibe, einem Strome gleich, damit der Strom sie mit sich reiße.
Then the snake poured water from its mouth after the woman, like a river, so that it might sweep her away.
16 Jedoch die Erde kam dem Weibe zu Hilfe; die Erde öffnete den Mund und verschlang den Strom, den der Drache aus dem Rachen ausgespien hatte.
But Earth came to her help, and opened her mouth and drank up the river which the Dragon had poured out of its mouth.
17 Da geriet der Drache über das Weib in Zorn, und er ging hin, Krieg zu führen mit ihren anderen Kindern, die die Gebote Gottes halten und das Zeugnis Jesu haben. Und er trat an den Strand des Meeres.
The Dragon was enraged at the woman, and went to fight with the rest of her offspring – those who lay to heart the commands of God and bear their testimony to Jesus;
