Psalm 98

1 Ein Lied. - Ein neues Lied singt jetzt dem Herrn, dem Wundertäter, dem seine Rechte hilft, sein heiliger Arm!

Sing to Adonai a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand, and his holy arm, have worked salvation for him.

2 Der Herr hat seinen Sieg verkündet, und vor der Heiden Augen offenbarte er sein Heil,

Adonai has made known his yishu'ah ·salvation·. He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations.

3 der Huld und Treue eingedenk zum Heil des Hauses Israels. Der Erde Enden alle sahen unseres Gottes Sieg.

He has remembered his chesed ·loving-kindness· and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel [God prevails]. All the ends of the earth have seen the yishu'ah ·salvation· of our God.

4 Entgegenjauchze alle Welt dem Herrn! Frohlocket! jubelt! Singt!

Make a joyful noise to Adonai, all the earth! Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing zahmar ·musical praise·!

5 Lobsingt dem Herrn mit Zitherklang, mit Zitherklang und mit Gesang!

Sing zahmar ·musical praise· to Adonai with the harp, with the harp and the voice of melody.

6 Mit Hörnern und Posaunenschall, mit Jubel vor dem König, vor dem Herrn!

With trumpets and sound of the shofar ·ram horn·, make a joyful noise before the King, Adonai.

7 Das Meer und was es füllt, erbrause, die Welt und die drauf wohnen!

Let the sea roar with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein.

8 Die Ströme sollen Beifall klatschen,

Let the rivers clap their hands. Let the mountains sing for joy together.

9 die Berge allzumal frohlocken vor dem Herrn, wenn er die Welt zu richten kommt! - Er richtet nach Gerechtigkeit die Welt, nach Billigkeit die Völker.

Let them sing before Adonai, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.
