Psalm 87

1 Von den Korachiten, ein Lied, ein Gesang. - Was er auf heiligen Bergen hat gegründet

His foundation is in the holy mountains.

2 das liebt der Herr; die Sionstore mehr als alle andern Wohnungen Jakobs.

Jehovah loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 Von dir ist Herrliches zu künden, du Gottesstadt. (Sela)

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. (Selah)

4 Erwähne ich auch Rahab und auch Babel wegen ihrer Weisen, Philisterland und Tyrus und Äthiopien: "Es ist dort der geboren",

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among those who know me. Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: This man was born there.

5 so wird von Sion ausgesagt: "Darin ist Mann um Mann geboren." Das sichert ihm den höchsten Rang.

Yea, of Zion it shall be said, this and that man was born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.

6 Der Herr ist's, der bestätigt, zeichnet er die Völker auf: "Es ist der dort geboren." (Sela)

Jehovah will count when he writes up the peoples: This man was born there. (Selah)

7 So singt und tanzt, wer immer in dir wohnt.

Those who sing as well as those who dance shall say, All my fountains are in thee.
