Psalm 84
1 Auf den Siegesspender, zum Kelternfest, von den Korachiten, ein Lied. Wie lieblich ist doch Deine Wohnung, Herr der Heeresscharen!
To him that excelleth upon Gittith. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. O Lord of hostes, howe amiable are thy Tabernacles!
2 Mein Geist verlangt und schmachtet hin nach den Vorhöfen des Herrn; mit Leib und Seele rufe ich nach dem lebendigen Gott.
My soule longeth, yea, and fainteth for the courtes of the Lord: for mine heart and my flesh reioyce in the liuing God.
3 Gesichert hat der Vogel eine Stätte sich, ein Nest die Schwalbe, wenn diese ihre Jungen birgt bei Deinem Altar, Du Herr der Heeresscharen, mein König und mein Gott.
Yea, the sparrowe hath found her an house, and the swallow a nest for her, where she may lay her yong: euen by thine altars, O Lord of hostes, my King and my God.
4 Wie selig, die in Deinem Hause weilen, die immerfort Dich preisen dürfen! (Sela)
Blessed are they that dwell in thine house: they will euer praise thee. (Selah)
5 Wie selig, der in Dir die Stärke findet, wenn eine Pilgerfahrt er plant,
Blessed is the man, whose strength is in thee, and in whose heart are thy wayes.
6 der, durch das Tränental hinpilgernd, es macht zu einem Quellort, zu Teichen, wie sie sonst der frühe Regen füllt,
They going through the vale of Baca, make welles therein: the raine also couereth the pooles.
7 der, alle Kraft zusammennehmend, wallt, bis er vor Gott in Sion kann erscheinen.
They goe from strength to strength, till euery one appeare before God in Zion.
8 Herr, der Heerscharen Gott! Erhöre mein Gebet! Vernimm es, Jakobs Gott! (Sela)
O Lord God of hostes, heare my prayer: hearken, O God of Iaakob. (Selah)
9 Schau her, o Gott, Du unser Schild! Blick auf den Mann, den Du gesalbt!
Beholde, O God, our shielde, and looke vpon the face of thine Anointed.
10 Weit besser ist ein Tag in Deinen Höfen als tausend andere. In meines Gottes Hause stehe ich viel lieber an der Schwelle, als daß ich in des Frevels Zelten weilte.
For a day in thy courtes is better then a thousand other where: I had rather be a doore keeper in the House of my God, then to dwell in the Tabernacles of wickednesse.
11 Denn Schar und Schild ist Gott der Herr, und Ruhm und Ehre gibt der Herr. Er geizt bei denen, die in Unschuld wandeln, nimmer mit seinem Segen.
For the Lord God is the sunne and shielde vnto vs: the Lord will giue grace and glory, and no good thing will he withhold from them that walke vprightly.
12 Herr der Heerscharen, wie selig ist, wer Dir vertraut!
O Lord of hostes, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
