Psalm 77
1 Auf den Siegesspender, für Zurückgezogene, von Asaph, ein Lied. Zu Gott erheb ich meiner Klage Stimme, zu Gott nur meine Stimme: "Du, mein Gott! Horch auf!"
For the chief musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A psalm of Asaph. I will call out with my voice to God; I will call with my voice to God, and my God will hear me.
2 In meiner Notzeit suche ich den Herrn; mein Ringen währt ohn' Ende in der Nacht, und meine Seele läßt sich nimmer trösten.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; at night I stretched my hands out, and they would not become tired. My soul refused to be comforted.
3 Wenn Gottes ich gedenke, muß ich seufzen. Und überlege ich, verzagt mein Geist. (Sela)
I thought of God as I groaned; I thought about him as I grew faint. (Selah)
4 Die Augenlider bannst Du mir; verstört bin ich und ohne Sprache.
You held my eyes open; I was too troubled to speak.
5 Ich überdenke alte Tage, die Jahre der Vergangenheit.
I thought about the days of old, about times long past.
6 Bedenke ich des Nachts mein Leiden, erwäge ich's in meinem Sinn, dann forscht mein Geist:
During the night I called to mind the song I once sang. I thought carefully and tried to understand what had happened.
7 "Verstößt der Herr denn ewiglich? Ist er denn niemals wieder gnädig?
Will the Lord reject me forever? Will he never again show me favor?
8 Hat seine Huld für immer aufgehört? Hat die Verheißung ganz und gar ein Ende?
Was his covenant faithfulness gone forever? Had his promise failed forever?
9 Hat Gott das Gnädigsein verlernt? Hält er erzürnt sein Mitleid auf?" (Sela)
Had God forgotten to be gracious? Had his anger shut off his compassion? (Selah)
10 Da sag ich mir: "Das ist mein Kummer, daß sich geändert hat des Höchsten Rechte."
I said, “This is my sorrow: the changing of the right hand of the Most High toward us.”
11 Ich bin der Werke eingedenk des Herrn, betrachte jetzt Dein Wunderwalten in der Vorzeit
But I will call to mind your deeds, Yahweh; I will think about your wonderful deeds of old.
12 und überlege all Dein Tun und sinne Deinen Taten nach.
I will ponder all your deeds and will reflect on them.
13 Dein Weg ist heilig, Gott. Wer ist ein Gott, so groß wie Gott?
Your way, God, is holy; what god compares to our great God?
14 Du bist der Gott, der Wunder tut. So offenbare an den Völkern Deine Macht!
You are the God who does wonders; you have revealed your strength among the peoples.
15 Erlös mit Macht Dein Volk, des Jakob und des Joseph Söhne. (Sela)
You gave your people victory by your great power— the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)
16 Die Wasser seh'n Dich, Gott. Die Wasser sehen Dich und beben; selbst Meerestiefen zittern.
The waters saw you, God; the waters saw you, and they were afraid; the depths trembled.
17 Ausströmen Wolken Wasser, und das Gewölke donnert, es fliegen Deine Pfeile hin und her.
The clouds poured down water; the cloudy skies gave voice; your arrows flew about.
18 Zu Deinem Donner, rollend, krachend, leuchten Deine Blitze. Der Erdkreis zittert und die Erde bebt.
Your thunderous voice was heard in the wind; the lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
19 Dein Weg geht durch das Meer, Dein Pfad durch große Wasser, doch unkenntlich ist Deine Spur.
Your path went through the sea and your way through the surging waters, but your footprints were not seen.
20 Du führst Dein Volk gleich einer Herdean Mosis und an Aarons Hand.
You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
