Psalm 57
1 Auf den Siegesspender, ein Kunstgesang, von David, ein Weihegesang, als er vor Saul in die Höhle floh. Gott! Sei mir gnädig! Sei mir gnädig! Denn meine Seele flieht zu Dir. Ich fliehe in den Schatten Deiner Flügel, bis die Gefahr vorübergeht.
For the leader. Al tashheth. A michtam of David, when he fled from Saul into a cave. Be gracious, O God, be gracious to me, for in you I take shelter. In your sheltering wings I take refuge, till ruin be over past.
2 Zu Gott, dem Höchsten, rufe ich, zu Gott, der mir nur Gutes tut.
I cry to the Most High God, to the God who accomplishes for me.
3 Er sendet Hilfe mir vom Himmel, verhöhnt mich auch mein Gegner, (Sela) Gott sendet dennoch seine Huld und Treue. -
He will send me his succour from heaven, he will thrust away those who would trample me. (Selah)
4 Ich weile unter Löwen, bei Menschenfressern, bei Leuten, deren Zähne Spieß und Pfeile und deren Zungen scharfe Dolche.
In the midst of lions I lie, who devour human prey. Their teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue is a sharpened sword.
5 Erhebe Dich, o Gott, soweit der Himmel, und Deinen Ruhm, soweit die Erde reicht!
Be exalted, God, o’er the heavens, and your glory o’er all the earth.
6 Sie stellen meinem Schritt ein Netz; doch ich umgehe es. Sie graben eine Grube mir und fallen selbst hinein. (Sela)
They set a net for my feet, but in it was their own foot caught. Before me they dug a pit, but they fell into it themselves. (Selah)
7 Aus Herzensgrunde, Gott, aus Herzensgrunde sing ich und juble:
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I would sing, I would make music;
8 "Erwache, du mein Stolz! Wach, Harfe, auf und Zither! Ich singe wach das Morgenrot."
awake, my soul. Awake, harp and lyre; I would wake the dawn.
9 Ich preise, Herr, Dich bei den Völkern, und ich besinge Dich bei den Nationen,
I would praise you among the peoples, O Lord, and make music among the nations to you;
10 daß Deine Huld bis an den Himmel reicht, bis zu den Wolken Deine Treue.
for great to heaven is your love, and your faithfulness to the clouds.
11 Erhebe Dich, o Gott, soweit der Himmel, und Deinen Ruhm, soweit die Erde reicht!
Be exalted, God, o’er the heavens, and your glory o’er all the earth.
