Psalm 50
1 Ein Lied, von Asaph. - Gott, Gott der Herr, soll reden; rufe er die Erde vom Aufgang bis zum Niedergang!
[A Psalm by Asaph.] The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks, and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Von Sion her, der Schönheit Krone, erstrahle Gott!
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.
3 So komme wieder unser Gott und schweige nicht! Verzehrend Feuer schreite vor ihm her; gewaltig stürme es um ihn!
Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.
4 Dem Himmel droben rufe er und dann der Erde mit den Worten:
He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 "Versammelt mir jetzt meine Frommen, die einen Bund mit mir geschlossen!", daß sie sein Volk der Opfer wegen richten.
"Gather my faithful ones together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice."
6 Der Himmel lege Zeugnis dafür ab: "Er ist im Recht; er ist ein Gott des Rechtes." (Sela)
The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. (Selah)
7 Mein Volk, gib acht und laß mich reden, Israel! Dich ermahn ich ernstlich: "Gott, dein Gott, bin ich.
"Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God.
8 Ich tadle dich nicht deiner Opfer wegen, und deine Brandopfer steht immer mir vor Augen.
I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.
9 Doch brauche ich kein Rind aus deinem Hause, aus deinen Hürden keine Böcke.
I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens.
10 Denn mein ist alles Wild im Walde, auf Tausenden von Bergen das Getier.
For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills.
11 Ich kenne alle Vögel im Gebirge; mir steht zu Diensten das, was sich im Felde regt.
I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.
12 Und sollte je ich hungern, dir sagt' ich es nicht; mein ist die Welt und was sie füllt.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13 Will ich denn Fleisch von Stieren essen? Und trinke ich der Böcke Blut?
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Bring Dank dem Herrn zum Opfer dar und löse so dem Höchsten dein Gelübde!
Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.
15 Und ruf am Tag der Not mich an. Dann werde ich dich retten. Aber danken sollst du mir."
Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
16 Zum Frevler aber spreche Gott: "Was schwatzest du von meinen Satzungen und führst im Munde meinen Bund!
But to the wicked God says, "What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,
17 Du hassest doch die Zucht, und meine Worte schlägst du in den Wind.
seeing you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?
18 Kaum siehst du einen Dieb, so läufst du schon mit ihm. Mit Ehebrechern gehst du um
When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.
19 und lässest deinen Mund in Bosheit sich ergehen, und deine Zunge paarest du mit Trug.
"You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.
20 Da setzst du dich und redest gegen deinen Bruder, verleumdest deiner Mutter Sohn.
You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother's son.
21 Das tust du, und ich sollte schweigen? Du dächtest dann, ich sei wie du. Zur Rede stelle ich dich jetzt und zeige deutlich dir den Unterschied-
You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.
22 Dies merkt, ihr Gottvergessenen! Sonst raffe ich euch rettungslos dahin.
"Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Wer Dank darbringt, der gibt mir Ehre. Wer gutes Beispiel gibt, den laß' ich göttlich Heil erblicken."
Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me; and to him who orders his conduct I will show the salvation of God."
