Psalm 48

1 Ein Gesang, ein Lied, von den Korachiten. Der Herr ist groß und hochzupreisen ob unserer Gottesstadt, ob seines heiligen Berges,

A song a psalm of [the] sons of Korah. [is] great Yahweh and [is] to be praised exceedingly in [the] city of God our [the] mountain of holiness his.

2 der herrlich sich erhebt, der ganzen Erde Wonne, der Berg von Sion, der im Norden der Stadt des großen Königs.

[it is] beautiful of Height [the] joy of all the earth [the] mountain of Zion [the] remotest parts of Zaphon [the] town of [the] king great.

3 In ihren Burgen hat sich Gott als Schutzwehr kundgetan.

God [is] in fortresses its he has made himself known to a refuge.

4 Versammelt haben sich die Könige, sind allzumal herangezogen.

For there! the kings they assembled they passed on together.

5 Sie sind erstarrt, kaum daß sie es gesehen, und sind bestürzt entflohen,

They they saw thus they were astonished they were terrified they hurried away.

6 Von Schrecken dort erfaßt, von Angst, gleich der in Kindesnöten,

Trembling it seized them there anguish like [woman] giving birth.

7 wie wenn der Ostwind Tarsisschiffe stranden läßt.

With a wind of [the] east you shatter ships of Tarshish.

8 Was vormals wir gehört, das haben wir geschaut jetzt an der Stadt des Herrn der Heeresscharen, unserer Gottesstadt. Gott läßt sie ewiglich bestehen. (Sela)

Just as we have heard - so we have seen in [the] city of Yahweh of hosts in [the] city of God our God he will establish it until perpetuity (Selah)

9 Wir haben Deine Gnade, Gott, empfangen hier in Deinem Heiligtum.

We have reflected on O God covenant loyalty your in [the] midst of temple your.

10 Gleich Deinem Himmel, Gott, erstreckt sich Deine Herrlichkeit bis an der Erde Ende. Voll von Gerechtigkeit ist Deine Rechte.

Like name your O God so praise your [is] over [the] ends of [the] earth righteousness it is full right [hand] your.

11 Der Sionsberg ist voller Freude, und Judas Töchter jubeln über Deine Strafgerichte. -

It will rejoice - [the] mountain of Zion they will be glad [the] daughters of Judah on account of judgments your.

12 Umgeht, umwandert Sion! Und zählet seine Türme!

Go around Zion and go round it count towers its.

13 Betrachtet seinen Wall! Durchmustert seine Burgen, daß ihr's dem künftigen Geschlecht verkünden könnt,

Set heart your - to rampart its walk through fortresses its so that you may recount [it] to a generation later.

14 daß Gott es ist, in alle Ewigkeiten unser Gott, der selbst uns leitet für und für!

For this - [is] God God our forever and ever he he will guide us on dying.
