Psalm 32
1 Von David; ein Lehrgedicht. - Dem Menschen Heil, dem seine Missetat vergeben ist und dessen Sünde zugedeckt!
David’s An Instructive Psalm. How happy is he whose transgression is forgiven! whose sin is pardoned!
2 Dem Menschen Heil, dem seine Schuld der Herr nicht länger anrechnet, in dessen Geist sich keine Täuschung findet!
How happy the son of earth, to whom Yahweh will not reckon iniquity! and in whose spirit is no guile!
3 Solange ich's verschwieg, verfiel mein Leib durch tägliches Gestöhn.
When I kept silence, my bones became worn out, Through my groaning all the day;
4 Denn Deine Hand lag schwer auf mir bei Tag und Nacht. Gewandelt hat sich meine Lebenskraft gleichsam in dürre Sommerfrucht. (Sela)
For, day and night, heavy upon me, was thy hand, —Changed was my life-sap into the drought of summer. (Selah)
5 Doch als ich Dir die Schuld bekannte und meine Sünde länger nicht verhehlte, und als ich sprach: "Dem Herrn gesteh ich meine Missetaten", da nahmst Du meine Sündenschuld hinweg. (Sela)
My sin, would I own unto thee, and, mine iniquity, not hide, I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Yahweh, And, thou, didst forgive the iniquity of my sin. (Selah)
6 Drum sollte jeder Fromme zu Dir flehen, sobald er etwas findet. Anstürmen mögen starke Wasserfluten, sie kommen nicht zu ihm.
For this cause, will every man of lovingkindness pray unto thee, in time to obtain, —Surely, in the overflow of many waters, unto him, shall they not reach.
7 Du bist mir Schutz, bewahrst mich vor dem Feinde, stellst Dich zur Seite mir mit Rettungsrufen. (Sela)
Thou, art a hiding-place for me, From distress, wilt thou preserve me, —With shouts of deliverance, wilt thou compass me about. (Selah)
8 "Ich will dich unterweisen, will den Weg dir zeigen, auf dem du gehen sollst; ich möchte, Liebling, dich beraten.
I will make thee discreet, I will point out to thee the way which thou must go, I will fix upon thee mine eye.
9 Sei nicht dem unverständigen Roß und Maultier gleich! Ihr Ungestüm muß man mit Zaum und Zügel hemmen. Zieh nimmer dich zurück!"
Do not ye become like a horse, like a mule, without discernment, —With the bit and bridle of his mouth, [hast thou] to restrain him, —He will not come near unto thee.
10 Den Frevler treffen viele Plagen. Wer aber auf den Herrn vertraut, dem ist er überall mit seiner Huld zur Seite. -
Many pains, hath the lawless one, —But, he that trusteth in Yahweh, Lovingkindness, shall compass him about.
11 Ihr Frommen! Freuet euch am Herrn, frohlockt! Ihr frommen Seelen alle, jauchzet!
Rejoice in Yahweh and exult, O ye righteous, Yea, shout in triumph, all ye upright in heart!
